The Menu has a good range of breakfast and light lunch options and vegetarians will find themselves relatively well looked after. I'm a big fan of their pancakes (which are really pikelets) as they are very generous on the portion sizes as well as topping options. The coffee here is a wee bit bitter for my own liking but their lattes are crazy creamy. The Litttle Leaf also mixes their own tea blends you can buy in store, whilst I'm not a tea drinker myself, friends have assured me it is top notch. The Leaf 'n' Bean also puts on regular events with live music, exhibitions and dessert nights on their cards. Select your poison from 3 different single origins for your coffee, but know that none of them are as good as their Indian Tiger Mountain. The teas also are from some local field or something, but really you're not coming all this way for some flavoured water. Sit down amongst a mash up of big communal and group tables, worn couches, bench seats or up at the piano if you fancy and watch as every mother's group, young family, hipster on their bike and local wander in like zombies looking for their coffee fix of the day. Service is punctual and friendly and soon we receive our breakfasts that I had to double check the prices of because they were so big. $17 for a big breakfast and $15 for haloumi, avo and poached eggs is ridicurous. Eire pies are now sold at Foodland supermarkets , Tony and Marks at Gelnunga and Brickworks as well as in the café itself; and have amazing flavours such as braised lamb and rosemary, duck curry, beef and potato and vegan chickpea and lentil. On top of this achievement, Eiri café also produce a wide range of delicious biscuits, cakes and patries, and do an amazing brunch ( 7:30am - 2:30pm on weekedays and 8:30-2:30pm on weekends). I have popped in a few times on the way to work and was impressed; but this Saturday we stopped for breakfast/brunch on the way to running some errands. I had the pancakes with banana, maple syrup and mascarpone and I added bacon to it because bacon and maple syrup just belong together. My partner had cornbread with spicy tomato salsa, grilled haloumi, poached eggs and she also added bacon. My pancakes were light fluffy and delicious, but quite filling. The bacon was cooked well and the whole meal made me very happy, with big generous slices of banana and a pot of maple syrup on the side). My partner's corn bread meal though, was the stand out.
