Having moved to Adelaide from Melbourne in 2011 one of the hardest things I found about moving to a…read morenew town was loosing a long list of tried and tested to places to eat which I had in Melbourne. That's not suggesting Melbourne food is better then Adelaide rather I had no idea where the best spots are in my new home town. Pizza was a category that I tried and tried many a places but never found the right fit. Before Speranza opened I was going to Pedros around the corner from this place which is ok but not great (6/10). Back on Speranza The wood fire pizzas are great and staff very friendly. Pricing is at the high end but it's genuine wood fire pizza so you need to expect that. I highly recommend the belissima and "the lot" (supreme). I would personally stay away from chicken as I found the chicken breast to be dry however please don't let this put you off this great little place. The shop itself does have some basic seating however I would recommend it is better suited to take away. Overall I rate 5 stars (9/10) over 20 odd visits.

I always prefer seeing sliced or shredded chicken on a pizza, rather than chicken cubes (probably the result of working for a takeaway pizza franchise during my teenage years). The pizza bases were quite thick the first time we purchased from this place but much thinner last time. They don't do your standard garlic bread (ie garlic buttered baguette), which disappointed a couple of my friends. When we picked up our pizzas and went to pay by credit card we were asked to pay with cash and had to walk to the ATM (their credit card facilities weren't down - they just wanted cash payment). Not bad but definitely room for improvement.

Having said that; last week the pizzas weren't as good, the base was soft and a tad chewy. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt though as we had taken them to a friends house for dinner and they were in the box for the 10-15 mins drive so they may have steamed themselves. Every other time I've had their pizza it has been amazing. Another update; they've changed a few of the recipes. The Margherita is still yummy, but not as good as it used to be. However the Double-Smoked Bacon is so much better than before (but could be improved with a few more pieces of pineapple). Goodlife still do really nice pizzas with quality ingredients.

Having visited this little gem a few times, I would definitely recommend trying to reserve a balcony table, especially in Summer. There is nothing better than eating fantastic gourmet pizzas whilst overlooking the square and beach beyond. The restaurant has a homely feel. Candles light the staircase as you venture up to the restaurant. The menu boards are on wood and staff wear cute brown aprons that give you some sort of reassurance as to the authenticiy of the place. As for the pizzas; my personal favourite is the mushroom pizza, complete with the most perfect mayonnaise topping - yum! This is a great place to drop by with a group of friends for a casual bite to eat.

The pizzas are also delicious and can be made vegan (vegetarian with no cheese). Unlike many other pizza places, they are quite heavy on the toppings! For me, while nothing can quite live up to the garlic shrimp from the shrimp trucks of Hawaii's North Shore, Marcellina's garlic prawns were not bad at all. They came with steamed rice, which in my opinion, is the only way to go with garlic prawns (to soak up all that delicious garlicky sauce that's leftover). The person who delivered our pizza arrived and advised us (and apologised) that they had made a mistake with our pizza order and instead of letting the garlic prawns turn cold, they delivered it right away with another pizza, free of charge, with our correct order to follow later. Five minutes later, the other pizza arrived. With the delivery charge everything seemed a bit pricey, however, the margherita pizza was delicious - just the right combination of italian herbs, toppings, and sauce. The crust was not too thin nor thick and it was still hot. The customer service was also fantastic as they admitted their mistake and made sure we got our correct order without letting any part of our order go cold. Will definitely be ordering from Marcellina's again!

Look no further, venture to The West Beach Pizza Bar! This is my local pizza bar, and to be frank, I've never come across one that's any better within a 5 kilometer radius. Each pizza is packed full of not only any ingredient and topping you desire but full of love and dedication. The sauce layer of each pizza is perfect, not too thick, not too thin and full of flavour! The staff are from a generation where customer service is no. 1, and boy do they know how to care for their customers! The shop itself is neat and tidy and can get quite busy on a weekend. None the less, it's well worth the wait, to indulge in a pizza from The West Beach Pizza Bar from time to time. A little suggestion, it's even better the day after cold! If you're within the area, and need that fix of pizza (like most do on the odd occasion), fix that craving at The West Beach Pizza Bar.

We recently bought a unit and after a big day of moving we opted for something easy to eat for dinner and decided to give them a go. I was really pleased with the great service when phoning through my pick up order, They suggested what size and we went with a family (2-3 people) and although tonight we weren't incredibly hungry, I could imagine on another night we could have gone a size up. The 'Sicilian' was fresh and tasty, with olives, mushrooms and salami. The base was fresh and the toppings went great together and was ready in 15 minutes on a Saturday night. We decided to make sure the first go wasn't a fluke and our second attempt was just as successful. We ordered a BBQ chicken and 'The Pizza' and both were winners. The bbq sauce wasn't too overpowering which I find too commonly with BBQ chicken and 'The Pizza' had a nice kick with chilli flakes. I would highly recommend Gorilla Pizza, they seem to be open reasonable hours and also cater to the Gluten Free and Vegan market. Maybe a bit pricier than your bog standard pizza place but totally worth it!
