Dear Daisy, I'm writing this review to you today to let you know that I very much appreciated your hospitality today over lunch. You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Imagine the excitement coursing through my veins when a brand spanking new cafe (with all the hipster/trendy trimmings) opens up 5 doors down from my house, and dearest Daisy, you passed my expectations for a local with flying colours. Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order! read more

Decided to go for Sunday breakfast/brunch because we had tried the coffee before and it was awesome. Arrived at about 10am and it was easy to get a seat for 2, but there was a good number of people there. All the waiters/waitresses were extremely nice and helpful. I went for the breakfast burger with the side of Boston beans - awesome! My partner decided for 'the biggie' - having all your breakfast needs - tomato, bacon, mushroom, spinach etc. that was good without being great - I think a few other places do the big plates better. As per usual, the coffee was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place. All round 2 thumbs up!! read more

Sounding like it stepped out of a Frankie magazine and has a full fringe and rides a fixie to work Dear Daisy is a Yelp darling which I finally frolicked to after I heard a bit of positive chatter about it from fellow reviewers (thanks Pablo!). Fabulous menu it was love at first bite, especially since the love didn't beat my wallet as hard as I thought it might being a bit of a hipster haunt. Amongst the array of goodness I found the rare and elusive tofu scramble, a menu item that's few and far between. It was absolutely brilliant! Addiction at first bite! My partner in crime got their pulled pork burger and I swapped my salmon for his sweet as hell sweet potato chips. They were amazing and I hoarded a few in a takeaway to snack on later that day. It all tasted fresh and healthy with almost no oil in any of the dishes I tried. Coffee was divine and I'll be back, what more can I say, just a wonderful experience. read more

This place is such a suburban gem that I want to keep all to myself. But it wouldn't be fair. Dear Daisy is always such a pleasure to walk into, friendly service, lovely setting and great food. Really good food. We have been here for both breakfast and lunch, we were not disappointed. For breakfast we had the quinoa zucchini fritters with poached eggs and bacon. It was delicious, lovely clean fresh flavours and no greasy feel. Even with the bacon! Eggs were poached perfectly it was like creamy flowing lava. It was served with tomato chutney which was I think is house made. Great complement to the dish. At lunch we tried their pulled pork burger, soft brioche bun packed full of well marinated deliciousness that is pork. We've been back since and could not fault this place. Coffees are good too. Definitely one of my fave places for brunch now! read more

After a long wait, here is the competition (and potential winner!) to the East End enterprises. Fantastic little cafe in the middle of a quiet area of town. Prices are much more reasonable than the CBD establishments. This place is well worth a trip. Had the eggs Benedict with a large coffee - nice touch of dill on a pair of perfectly poached eggs. Coffee was very good and smooth. Stop your pilgrimage to the CBD and instead pretend you are Indiana Jones uncovering this suburban gem. read more

Had a bit of a schedule mix-up at another local cafe which wasn't open, so our gang of four went around the corner to Dear Daisy. Despite a busy Sunday morning, we got a table just as another group left. Service was quick and orders were taken at the table, although it seemed a mix of that and orders up at the register too. The menu is one of the best brekkie-brunch ones I've encountered in the modest cafe-coffee house class. Lots of choices, well described, and very reasonable prices. But I'll save you the trouble--get the corn fritters. They're yummy, savoury and just about the best I've had. They came with two poached eggs, tomato chutney, bacon and a side of cooked fresh spinach. Coffee was good, but the standard cup is a bit small for me, I'd recommend ordering the larger cup. This place is an easy walk to the Goodwood Sunday market and train stop and the Glenelg tram stops and there's lots of parking around, so access is easy. Three outside tables-for-two are doggie friendly and they have nice, clean bathrooms in back, just ask. If you want great service and food in a little neighbourhood cafe without having to visit an ATM to plus up your wallet, this is the place. Good chance you'll see me there again too, and I live on the other side of town. Dear Daisy is worth the trip. Oh, they also had a specials board with several versions of burgers. If the cafe scene today was a large group of High School friends, Dear Daisy would be the cute little honest one. The friend that happens to live down the street from you and is always available when you need her. She is cute. Attractive but not intimidating and still knows the best bands. Her friends are far more high maintenance and let's be honest, way more pretentious and hard work to be near. Within a small repurposed deli that was left over from the 80s, Daisy has carved out a beloved local space which oozes sunny Sunday mornings. The coffee is on point and the food is solid without pretending to be too much. The pricing behaves accordingly. The French Toast combines two of life's culinary gifts - ice cream and bacon in the same delightful mouth party. Air punches all round! There are many more sexier options too, and if you want a pork burger before 9am, then god dammit, they'll give you one. Flick and Mark are great hosts and go to lengths to make sure their loyal patrons and local identities are well looked after. Sam is a gun on the machine and will spit out a coffee for you before you've taken off your stackhat. Get in here and throw your hard earned at some good people creating good spaces. Dear Daisy is a great addition to the growing number of cafes in the area. I dropped in for a coffee and brownie one afternoon and was so impressed that I returned two days later for lunch. I ordered a honey roasted pumpkin and quinoa salad and my husband had a smoked salmon Turkish bread sandwich. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast is served all day and the plates I saw being delivered to other tables looked tasty. The coffee was great again and the service was fast and very friendly. Dear Daisy is just as cute as the name suggests. We went for a spot of all day brunch, my friends ordering the salmon and avo on toast, and then salmon eggs benedict on gluten free bread. I opted for a vegetarian wrap with a banana smoothie (with a shot of coffee!) All items on the menu looked delicious so we will have to go back. I think all of us made changes to our orders somewhere but the staff were lovely and very accommodating. One dish came out without the gluten free bread but this was fixed very quickly. Unfortunately one egg looked over poached but my friend enjoyed her meal and commented on the good value for money. It is a bit pricier than others but i feel in our case this was justified by the amount of salmon and avocado we were eating! The coffees were delicious and quickly made, the atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. I enjoued Dear Daisy and plan to go back for one of their burger specials soon! read more

To be honest I went here due to a mixup with another nearby restaurant, but what a find! The service was prompt, the coffee tasty, and based on the number of people there and waiting to be seated when I left it is quite a popular local place. This place is great! I went here on a Sunday morning for a late breakfast with my girlfriend. The place was packed but we still were served reasonably quick. We went with the Bennie's and the Beans, absolutely finger licking delicious! The hollandaise sauce in the eggs Benedict is out of this world. My family and I have been discovering new cafes to go to for breakfast and I would have to say dear daisy has been one of the best if not the best! The beans were to die for and the iced chai, wow! I had The benny myself and that was superb! My mum had The Floz add salmon, I didn't get to try it because she ate it all up before I got a chance but from what I heard it was pretty good! And last my dad ha The beans which were defiantly to die for! They were the best beans I've ever had, homemade has always been said to be the best! My dad also for a banana smoothie which was a different fast to any if had before but it was pretty good!! The only down side is the parking, it was hard to find a good park. read more
