Breakfast; poached eggs and bacon with a bit of added extras and gf bread
    Hannah K.

I went to Froth and Fodder the first time a long time ago, as I was living around Kurralta Park at the time and was DESPERATE for a good, close brunch and coffee cafe we could walk to for a lazy sunshiney time. With the only other option really being the Highway, I jumped right on the chance to try this place, and I wasn't disappointed. However, I wasn't blown away either! Although after being spoilt with the likes of Grind It, Pure Coffee Bar and The Annex that can be a difficult task. Since then I have been back around five times, and each time I get super excited beforehand but am surprisingly always left feeling a little unsatisfied. The food is of a good portion size and looks nice, but is a bit pricey and nothing new in terms of flavour combinations. They have all the trimmings of a normal urban cafe such as soy milk, gluten free bread and freshly made juices, coffee was good and staff are nice. However the key element missing is the warmth and coziness you expect in a cafe, that atmosphere that gets you hooked and makes you want to visit time and time again. An example of this is the decor, whilst very cool and urban looking with concrete floors I find it to be quite dark and shadowed inside, and the open room is very noisy. The starkness, plus the minimal comfort of the chairs, gives the impression of a place that wasn't truly thinking about their customers comfort level during the creation process. Perhaps I am just getting old, preferring places that look friendlier & lighter; with cosy chairs to cuddle up into with a hot chocolate, staff members cracking jokes or the owner yelling at regulars about their day over the churn of the coffee machine, or comfier seating for my derriere as I chow down on some Eggs Benedict. I do think Froth and Fodder is one of the best in the area, but it is also one of the very few of its kind in the area, where people will flock to the call of bacon and eggs and coffee, no matter what the price or atmosphere. However, since moving house I can honestly say that unless I am already in Kmart nearby and get cravings real bad I wouldn't be hurrying to go back.

Froth & Fodder dragged me in through their Instagram presence... I figured I'd check it out since they liked my pics! After a 20 minute wait on a Sunday morning I was a little shocked at the prices, with the full breakfast being around $18. But gosh, the produce is such a fantastic quality and the servings so huge that I quickly forgot about the wait and the price. I honestly didn't have to eat again for the day, and I hadn't even finished my breakfast! They were out of a few things on the menu, and forgot my coffee. The room was also really loud. But the service and food quality were outstanding so I'll be back for a second round.

It's not often I venture into the burbs behind Kmart's car park, but Mortimer St is a little character worth watching fellow Adelaidians. This place (and the currently empty surrounding shops) have all the hallmarks of Colonel Light Gardens', The Strand, or Croyden's, Queen St. Froth is full of industrial lighting, balckboard written menus on the wall, raw wooden tables and hand written looking menus. This warm little nook and its eager to please, "we'll cater to any dietary requirements", menu is a welcome addition to this part of town. Take a 2 minute drive in any direction and you are at a fast food joint. I have eaten here twice and both times the meal hasn't quite cut it for me but it has still been tasty enough to finish. My poached eggs were overcooked at my first breakfast here and my veggie burger, despite coming in a perfectly crispy ciabatta roll with a well spiced and cooked burger, had far too much tzaziki dressing. The coffee both times has been smashing. It's incredibly smooth so you will play Oliver and ask for more. The juices are also are delicious and great combos of flavours. Service is lovely, very efficient and friendly and allow you to sit at the table to order. And don't laugh at Will A's review about the seats here - I have to admit, the click up and down as you move around on the metal bottom drives me bonkers too! This is a wonderful place to take a friend with a dietary requirement, gluten intolerance or vegan preference and a perfect lunch time treat if you are scouring Anzac Highway for a place that doesn't ask "would you like fries with that?"

Froth & Fodder is a pretty cool place, it has a very casual welcoming feel to it. You imediately feel at ease, the staff are very friendly and open. The coffee is good, it's a real crowd pleaser blend so if you love bold flavours like I do you might be a little disappointed. In essence they are doing a lot of things right, the only down side was the breakfast wasn't overwhelming. It's a new establishment and I'm sure they're still fine-tuning things so I will definitely be back to check in on how things are going.

I have been to this place plenty of times. Every time i go, i walk away satisfied. Their food is always great, as is the coffee. I usually get the smashed avo but this time round i decided I'd try the 4 egg omelette. Unfortunately it was the first time I've been disappointed with the food. The omelette was enormous but somewhat lacking in flavor and too dry! I took half home with me for dinner as it was such a massive serve and added my own sauce which was better. It was by no means terrible but just not up to their usual standard. Their presentation of it was beautiful. I also tried their tropical juice special which came out all colorful and pretty. I didn't think it was amazing, it mainly tasted like orange juice but it was still pleasant. The coffee was great as always. Next time I'll try the delicious looking pancakes.

Had breakfast here today with my little family and it was delicious! Best eggs Benedict I've had in a long time and the meal sizes are very generous. The service was great very friendly and welcoming will defiantly be back next fly out day.

Review Highlights - Froth & Fodder

The smashed avocado (see pic) was sensational for this purpose (as well as on the eye) and the accompanying long black was pretty OK as well.

You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!

This is Chef Quang's new venture after he shut the doors to his Devour Dessert Bar in July earlier this year and it's starting to make me wonder why he didn't explore savoury any earlier in his career! Now any chocoholic out there knows how good Devour's desserts are smokin' but trust me when I say that his breakfast menu is one to make you swoon. From bircher muesli to a multitude of eggy delights there is something to suit every brunch muncher. Don't forget to check the specials of the day either! My dining companions excitedly devoured corn fritters with salsa, baked eggs and a steak sandwich but I knew I had won the food envy stakes that day with my poached eggs on rye with smashed avo, mushrooms and pesto dressing. Eggs were perfectly cooked and everything was fresh and filling with the perfect bread to egg-goo ratio. Coffee lovers will find 5 Senses here and cold drip, filter and more if you fancy. Service is incredibly quick and direct to your table and the atmosphere is light and not too busy (yet). And for all those dessert fangirls out there don't worry, these guys are now shutting at their cafe at 4pm everyday and re-opening as a dessert bar from 6pm every night.

The sign just had the words "Loveon Cafe" and an arrow pointing left (turn left down Victoria St when coming from the City). I was intrigued, but it earned the cafe a new customer. This is marketing at its simplest and most effective. Getting to Loveon Cafe is easy. Being off the main drag means parking is simple, plenty of street side parks. Walking towards the cafe, you are welcomed by a row of neat, small potted plants and the outdoor tables. Inside, the cafe is big, open and spacious. Small tables, big tables and benches. Sit where'd you like, grab today's paper. There is a fresh juice bar, a selection of sweets at the order table, cold drinks in the fridge, and lots of tasty menu items cooked from the kitchen. Sitting outside is lovely as its real quiet. You can sip coffee, chat and read the paper in the sun on the outdoor tables. A few cars driving around, but thats it. The owners of Loveon Cafe are Bangladeshi and once you examine the menu, you can start to see the influences come through. I chose to try Bagla'r Promise from the breakfast menu. Its a small potato curry, some dhaal and two poached eggs on top served with chapati. I was pleasantly surprised to try something really different for breakfast. It tasted great, was a decent size, the poached eggs were spot on and it went well with my coffee too. The lunch menu looks like great value too with lots of options to choose from. I didn't try the fresh juice, but that is definitely on my list for next time. The service was great, the staff are really friendly. Although the cafe probably needs a fly screen on the entrance doors. If you're looking to check out a new cafe for breakfast or lunch, you can't go past this little hidden gem in Adelaide's inner western suburbs. Check it out.

When i walk in, i instantly see & feel a sense that this place has a community vibe to it. There is a mothers sectons where there is ample space for prams and mothers to sit and have coffee, there are about 20 seats available outiside and about another 20 inside. I ordered a latte and a salmon and eggs breakfast. When i sat down, i was given a water which contained many citrus fruits, herbs, apples and pears. its the little thing for me i like, but, it makes the water taste amazing. When i recieved the latte i noticed something about the spoon, it was a special looking promotional spoon for the Thebarton Bowling Club. When i questioned it they said that organisations  donate the spoons as per request of owner. When the salmon arrived, i was served it and the waiter then proceeded to grate the pepper on top of the meal, again its the little things. The salmon was on top of a piece of rye bread with spinach and pouched eggs with a minty, peppery sauce in the spinach. I would highly recommend this location for a business meeting as the community feel and the ambience of the venue is fantastic.
