This is the cutest little store ever!! Although I've only ever tried their eggettes, they also have a bunch of other Hong Kong snacks and drinks that I really want to try. I usually just order a normal eggette. It always comes out freshly made and hot! It's super addicting to eat...as soon as I pull off one puff I just keep going. I was just introduced to this location by my friend....I've honestly just looked right past it every time cause I'm here quite often for Polly Ann's (located right next door). I ordered the imitation shark fin soup ($3) and an original eggettes. The soup was really good. Granted, it was a cold and foggy day so the soup did a great job warming me up, but the ingredients were fresh. The sliced fugus was crisp as was the bits of bamboo and vermicelli. My only gripe was the meat inside, it was stringy and a little tough. The eggettes were alright...I'm not really a fan of how its hollow on one side and doughy on the other. I usually come here around 10 or so on a weekend. They have variety of tapioca. Looks like price went up all of sudden lol bc I thought it use to be cheaper. Now it's about $4 or more. Eggettes are still good since I've first had it. They have 3 or so flavors I think. Chocolate, regular flavor and one other I think? I'm hooked on their fin soup, and only $3 a cup! I promise you, it's the best fake shark fin soup you can get in the city! This is my literal go-to spot for a late night boba and egg waffle. I've be going here since elementary school and they still have the best egg waffles. The taste is so unforgettable and you can't get it anywhere else besides eggettes. In the afternoon, it gets a bit crowded, so nighttime is the best time to go. You'll probably get better service too. They also have very reasonable prices and give good portions. When I go, I usually get the lychee milk tea and the original eggettes. I really like the lychee milk tea because it's very caffeinated and they add in little lychee chunks on the bottom so you know its not just added syrup. Boba bish here, back again to critique another PMT spot. Like the traditional soul I am...I got the pearl milk tea. As with every tea place I go to, I always get their pearl milk tea as a "standard" to try and base my first impressions. The shop itself is not in any "hotspot" area near Sunset, but it is by an ice cream shop that looks pretty new and not-yet-poppin'. The store inside is like any froyo/tea spot with three aluminium tables and restrooms. It's pretty spacious, but I wouldn't sit here for my leisure just cuz there's nothing to see or do around this area. Eggettes does do different amounts/levels of sugar and ice, so feel free to request those changes to your liking. I got my go-to no sugar with less ice. The tea itself was pretty standard, and the pearls were not chewy enough in my opinion. My friend and I agreed that this place wouldn't be on our go-to list unless we happened to be trapped in Sunset with super strong cravings for tea or boba. Best eggettes you can find! The taste reminds me of fortune cookies except that it's crispy on the outside and somewhat soft on the inside. I always get the shark fin soup and rice noodles with hoisin sauce, peanut sauce, and hot sauce. Get it with a tapioca on the side. YUM! This review is mostly for their Eggettes of course! I've been to many of the Eggettes locations and their egg waffles are constantly good. They have their standard flavor and chocolate and I love how they have a flavor of the day. Honeydew is a favorite of mine and the coconut flavor I had last night was good too. They are light and airy yet crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Their Cha Cha was also pretty good. It's a coconut red bean dessert soup that comes with sago and taro. It's only available Fridays-Sundays. Since it's SF and in the Sunset, parking is hit or miss but we were lucky to find street parking right away. read more

Honestly, Eggettes is really underrated in the milk tea/boba discussion around the bay. I usually order the standard milk tea with no boba, and all the flavors I'm looking for are there. Their milk tea has a strong tea flavor that's complemented (and not overwhelmed) by sweetener. It really does its job in satisfying those milk tea cravings. One of my guilty pleasures is also their "fin" soup on a cold SF day. It has gelatin imitation "fin"s, mushrooms, and a comforting salty taste. The texture makes it clear that its very gelatinous (it was kinda gloppy), but that's part of what makes it so, so good. So I was really into the idea of being able to choose soy or 2% milk for my tea instead, and this is purely the reason why I would come again whenever I need to get my milk tea fix. The egg puffs here are one of the best I've had. It's perfectly golden and crispy and warm in the center. They usually carry original and chocolate flavor and for the third flavor, they switch it out from time to time. I've had coconut before as well as honeydew. I do prefer the coconut flavor one because it has a sweeter taste. Milk tea here is super cheap at less than three bucks for the original milk tea. I like that they don't use ice cubes and instead give you ice bits so you get more drink for your buck. I tend to not get tapioca but if you wish, it's an extra 50 cents. They also carry other snack items such as curry fish balls and shark fin soup but not much else if you are feeling hungrier as this is primarily a milk tea and egg puff shop. They have several tables for you to sit at as well as a bathroom available. Polly Ann is also right next door. I come to Eggettes for their eggettes. I can down that $3 bag without stopping, sometimes we walk down Noriega towards the sea while snacking on the eggettes because it's just a beautiful sight. Each eggette (and in between) is crunchy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside -- don't worry about chewy dough, these are almost half hollow, giving it the lightest taste and most undeniable aroma that resemble waffles. The chocolate flavor is on point too, and the melon is for adventurists, so tell me how it goes after you've tried it. Milk tea has always been good too, and I've tried their imitation fin soup once which was also surprisingly good. BUT come for their eggettes. Lol. I only saw this place because I went to Polly Ann Ice Cream since it's next door. I got some ice cream and walked around outside and saw Eggettes. They don't even have a prominent sign stating the name Eggettes so I wonder how many more customers they'd get if they did so. While looking into the restaurant from the outside, they have signs making it clear that there is no outside food/drink allowed inside. This disallowance might as well be name of the restaurant. They deliver authentic tasting product such as the eggettes (obviously) but also some pretty good fin soup and milk tea. I was craving some late night sweets and stumbled upon Polly Ann Ice Cream and Eggettes on Yelp. A scoop of ice cream squished into a warm, crispy egg shell sounded waffley good! And so, I egg-citedly hurried over to order both items to make it happen! Tip: If you are planning to also make yourself an egg waffle ice cream, order from Eggettes first. The eggette is made to order and can take longer especially if the machines are already in use. Also, it seems like the staff prioritizes drink orders over food orders so there is a lag time even when the machines are available for use. You could probably fit double scoops of ice cream into the egg waffle to eat like a taco. Usually, speciality spots will shape their egg waffle like a cone but these eggettes were not intended for such purpose. Though, it would be strategic for them to adapt eggettes for such use! Alternatively, you could also break off small pieces to scoop up ice cream. Overall, the original eggette is crispy, flakey, and lightly sweet. However, the shell of each raised puff needs to be more firm rather than flakey. Too little of batter was used so some gaps exist between the top and bottom shell of each puff. Eh, the workers arent too friendly. The place is small, and there's barely enough tables if there was a big group there before you. We ordered milk tea, chocolate drink, honeydew eggettes and chocolate eggettes. My Hong Kong friend mentioned that it was good, but she likes Hong Kong ones better. The quality has declined a lot over the years. I was here the first day it opened since I used to live really close by. I always order the plain eggettes or the strawberry freeze. You must pay extra for the tapioca, thats probably what they're know for. Its super soft and chewy with the best natural sweetness. The fin soup is really something different, but in the best way possible. The rice rolls are just standard but really satisfying. Everything I have mentioned is around 3-4 dollars. The most recent time I came back, I ordered a milk tea and an almond milk tea, both were way too overly sweet and overwhelming.. unbearable. I had to throw it out, such a waste. There's not really much to say besides this is the spot I go to for my egg puffs when I crave. They usually have original flavor, chocolate, and another flavor. The last two times I been, it was coconut. I haven't tried this one because I'm not really a coconut flavor person, though I like coconut milk desserts and coconut water... But I really like their egg puffs! I haven't had any that I didn't like, so they are decently consistent with their puffs. Also had a soy milk tea, which was good. I'm not sure if I am lactose intolerant, so it was nice that they have an option for soy milk tea.
