Came here quite some time ago and finally getting around to writing my review. Had heard about this from my foodie friends grapevine and had to come try it out, especially after seeing the souffles they had on Shokugeki No Soma. The souffle is very rich, fluffy and delicious. I had to get the mango one. It was very sweet and tart. Definitely a perfect dessert after all the spicy foods I had that day. read more

Eggcellent Souffle Pancake is a tiny shop in one of the Flushing malls. They really take care to make soft fluffy desserts for you. Each soufflé took about 30 minutes. But it was worth it! This is one of my favorite soufflé pancakes right now. The pancake is airy, light and really tastes like a less sweet soufflé. I loved my mango soufflé pancake. The whipped cream and tart mango chunks was a great combination. We devoured this in minutes. K's crème brulee was very pretty but a little too sweet for me. We still ate this really fast. I would definitely return for that mango soufflé pancake! read more

Very rich and fluffy Souffle. It takes a while to make. Waiting time is 20 minutes. You can observe them making it while waiting if you want. You will see all the cream and butter. It is interesting and fattening. The Souffle pancake was sweet and yummy. It is like a small soft cake in a way. It is nice to try. The price is reasonable for this dessert to try as a first time. They do have a small area with benches, but with covid19, it is up to you if you feel like quickly eating your Souffle or just taking it home. There are utensils and napkins if needed too. read more

This is located in a mini food court hallway that gets packed quickly. We came here just to try the soufflé pancakes. We got the strawberry blueberry yogurt and the creme brûlée (I only wish we could have tried all of them) and loved both! It took maybe 10-15 minutes for them to prepare both, and there is limited seating (a sign said more seats upstairs but we didn't go there). My boyfriend preferred the creme brûlée which was torched well and served with a generous portion of whipped cream. I'm not sure what I liked better but both were satisfying and not too sweet. I especially liked that the yogurt on the fruit one was Chinese style 酸奶 with the distinctively fresh and tart taste you don't usually get in the US. The pancakes were fluffy and eggy, soft enough to cut with a single fork. I still think the best soufflé pancake I've ever had was at soufflés in LA but this place was more than good enough considering how scant soufflé pancakes are on the east coast (really bewildering to me). I would absolutely love for this to be a sit down place on its own and not in a crowded hallway. We saw a lot of people ordering the egg waffles and would love to try that next time. There is a decently clean bathroom that you can get a key to if you buy something, and I think minimum credit card charge was $10. read more

Absolutely loved the creme brulee Souffle pancakes. The pancakes were just perfect, Made fresh to order, they were light and extremely fluffy. The flavor was exact right down to the burnt topping. Definitely my new favorite. They offer a variety of pancakes that all looked amazing and definitely instagram worthy!!! I had also tried the triple chocolate egg waffle but was really disappointed, it was extremely dry..The location is in a mall and was tricky to locate at first, definitely tiny and not a lot of seating. read more

It's Eggcellent! We were craving egg waffles and came upon this place. Decided to try Souffle pancakes too and they were both a delight. Came in with friends, there was no wait to order. Once we ordered we were told the wait was 35mins. So we left to get bubble tea, we got back at the perfect time. I got the crème brûlée soufflé pancake, and my boyfriend got the tiramisu soufflé. Our friend got the same. There is only 2 tables here so you might not be able to sit. We luckily were able to get a table. The pancakes are HUGE, they were so fluffy and the crème brûlée cream that is drizzled on top is the star of the show. I liked my boyfriends flavor but mine was better in my opinion. We were stuffed after eating. My friends did not finish theirs (particularly due to their bubble tea). read more

Bubble waffles FTW! the original is my favorite so far. The chocolate is second. They make it fresh so give them a few minutes to cook it up in the waffle iron. Souffle pancakes are delicious and fluffy! We got the one with boba and the cream tasted like milk tea. There's currently no seating but we stood off to the side to enjoy it as fresh as possible. Entrance wise, make sure to go all the way in. This shop shares the space with Yi Fang and two other shops. If you're in the area, I recommend trying it out! There's also egg waffles available. read more

This counter shares a food hall type space with other businesses and is conveniently located steps from the Flushing LIRR. If you missed the signage outside, back track to the lobster hanging overhead at the entrance. This stall is way in the back. Yummy egglettes/egg waffles. While I didn't try any custom or fancy dessert topped ones, we enjoyed the original which is classic/the chocolate one for my kiddo who loves chocolate and for kicks, I ordered the green tea flavored egg waffles. Could use a little more matcha powder but the taste was noticeable. Great snack spot or as a dessert spot. read more

3.5 stars I was excited to try this place after my bf had sent me pictures of their yelp. They have a small menu of just 6 different types you can get. We decided to get the strawberry and blueberry one. The cashier said it would take about 5 minutes to make. There's a glass window so you can actually watch them prepare it. For the first few minutes it just looked like they were waiting for the griddle to heat up? But then I realized that the souffles were already inside there cooking up! It's a lot longer process than I originally thought. I'm not sure how long it takes, but I would say more than 15 minutes. They make 6 pancakes at a time in one griddle. When we got ours, I was impressed by how pretty it looked. We cut into our fluffy pancake and it was a littleee underdone. It was a little wet in the center but we still ate it. Overall it tasted good with the yogurt and fruit. But with the steep price of $10 I wouldn't come again. Good to try if you haven't had it before! read more

WARNING: Unless you wanna get diarrhea, don't buy this. I was so excited to try this after seeing it 2 days ago. However, it gave us major upset stomachs. Otherwise, i wuda given 5 stars. These souffle pancakes are light, airy & not as jiggly as i expected. The pancake itself tastes ok. I liked the Bubble Tea Souffle Pancake more than the Berry Yogurt 1 cuz it was sweeter. I loved the cream & the tapioca & the tea flavor. The Berry 1 is somewhat tart. The yogurt is also kinda tart. Idk wth they put in it that gave both of us diarrhea tho. read more

Walk all the way down the hall to find Eggcellent. There is a waiting time of 30 mins per order but I think I only waited 15 to get my pancake, that being said, make sure you are not in a rush if you want to try these fluffy pancakes (Or just order ahead of time on the phone or online). Also be sure to try some of the other stores in the building, which includes Flushing Ice Cream Factory, Legend Chicken, Yi Fang and a few others! Although the dining area is closed due to COVID, there is a waiting area with a few benches directly in front for you to sit and wait. I really enjoyed these pancakes, the yogurt one is sweet and tart and the tiramisu one is sweet and fragrant. I really liked the tiramisu one. read more

This place was really cute and the wait time was really long though takes about 30-45 mins for the pancakes and the eggs to be made, also maybe bc there's only two workers in the back and it takes a lot of effort to make it look this good so I give them an A for effort. read more

Came to Eggcellent to grab their HK egg waffles (will do the souffle pancake on another day). Located in the back of a small food court, this place's claim to fame is the pancake but their egg waffles are no slouch. The egg waffles here are pretty good and have a nice array of new school flavors - green tea, green tea chocolate, banana, pork floss (for those that like savory). The green tea and green tea chocolate were really good - crispy and full of matcha flavor. The banana was nice but it was a bit soggy due to the banana. Original was also solid. The waffles here are pretty good but my only gripe is that it takes A LONG TIME for you to get your waffles. They use electric waffle irons and it probably takes about 5 minutes per waffle (and they can only make 2 at a time). The old ladies on Canal Street used to make them over gas flames which was super fast (call me spoiled). They also have a disclaimer about the pancakes which states that you need to wait at least 15-20 minutes for them from the time of order. Overall it's a great addition to Flushing but you'll just need to be patient. Thumbs up. read more

This place was a quiet little place on a side road next to the busy part of flushing. After goin inside a building all the way in the back past a couple of other sweets and snack shops. It was a small little shop with a big window where you can see everything they we're cooking. I had ordered the matcha egg waffle and also a mango fluffy pancake. After ordering we just got a number and waited till we got called which took about 10-15 minutes. After we got the food we went to sit. In front of the shop there was very little seating but there was an upstairs seating available for all the shops including this one. The egg waffle was very average and the matcha flavor was not very strong. The egg waffle was average sized but I feel like it wasn't much egg waffle for it's price The mango japanese pancake was alright. It came as a pair with mango on top. The pancake itself doesn't have much going for it other than it being fluffy. It tasted kind of like the Chinese chiffon cake that's wrapped in paper from an Asian bakery. The only flavor was from the mango and it's sauce but the mango were a bit underripe so it's flavor was not as strong. Overall it just seemed overpriced and wasn't really that flavorful and was only there for the aesthetic and pictures read more

I had this place on my bookmarks for things to try in Flushing and I was finally able to cross it off the list. Eggcellent is in the very back of a miniature food hall which had places that sold boba, lobster rolls, among several other things. I got to the shop front and ordered the Strawberry and blueberry with yogurt souffle pancake. The workers there were super nice and asked me if it was okay to wait 20 minutes since it takes 20 minutes to make. I said it was fine and proceeded to wait. My order came out in less than 20 minutes and I was pretty much ready to dig in. I first had to take the pancake on the jiggle test and it was perfect. It was just like how I seen it on the IG and YouTube videos. Upon first bite, there was a large taste of egg whites and egg white aroma, the spoon I used just cut straight into the pancake and it was runny, which was what it should've looked like. Texture was super soft and also pretty much tasted like sweet whipped egg whites. The blueberries and strawberries were very fresh and the yogurt that topped off the pancake was delicious as well, and perfectly complimented the smooth and runny texture of the pancake. It almost felt like I was eating a parfait. I would recommend this place if it is your first time trying souffle pancakes. The workers were really nice and the price was fitting for what you get as well. read more

I end up craving these pancakes once a month lol. They are fluffy and so delicious I've tried a few flavors so far (crème brûlée, boba, berry fruit with yogurt cream). They are all good! My favorite that really brings me back is the strawberry and blueberry with yogurt cream pancakes. Their yogurt cream is fluffy and light and slightly tart without overdoing it. Definitely compliments the fruits and pancakes well! Definitely worth stopping by to try it out~ Only downside is there isn't any seating and it is take out only but they package it well! read more

Came back here for a snack. Only wait if you want to try or if you have time. It took more than 5 minutes as advised by the cashier when I ordered the original one. It took about 10-15 minutes. When I received the bubble egg cake, it was cool on top and warm on the bottom which is kind of strange. Crispy on the outside; inside has cake. Some of the cake stays intact while other falls apart. It's not the same as the woman from the little Mosco St. The bubble egg (gai daan jie) is okay if you want to try. read more

This is not going to be a particularly long review because, much like the pastries it serves, there's little substance or filling worth much beyond the pretty photos. So, we trekked to Flushing after reading about these souffle pancakes. My husband is a huge dessert person and he just had to taste these. First, they look very pretty. Yay for Instagram photos. But, it takes 16 - 20 minutes to make the souffle, which only heightens the excitement because you think for sure with that kind of dedication and attention to baking it must be something outstanding. Finally you get the souffle and it basically tastes like a Dunkin' Doughnuts pastry, just prettier with a Flushing take. I'd expect this kind of thing from an iHop (if I went to an iHop), but not from a place that positions itself as this must have delight. It was eh. So totally and utterly not worth it. We tried three, so it wasn't like we had one bad one. It was three so-so ones. It jiggles, it wiggles and it disappoints. read more

I ordered the Milk Bubble Tea (only available Fri/Sat/Sun), while a friend ordered the Creme Brulee. Both were so enjoyable! The milk bubble tea tasted exactly how you wuld've expected it to which, to be honest, came off as a surprise to me. I was expecting pancakes with some boba on the side, but the Milk Tea cream mimicked exactly the flavor of the beverage. I was chewing, but it felt like I had a Boba order in hand from around the corner! The creme brulee pancake had a tasty custard topping. We had requested to add fruits onto the dish, which we were happy they were able to do. Between the two we ordered, I honestly favored this one more. I'm a sucker for a good custard, and the fired top created a warm, toasty glaze that I really appreciated. The wait to receive the pancake is about 15-20 mins (a little longer depending on how busy), so expect to be there for a little while. However, understandable for how freshly made they are. It's recommended to eat it immediately (within 20-30 minutes of receiving the order). There are 2 benches right by the stand/store, and they allow you to eat your food there if there aren't too many people around. There are no tables, so you'll have to hold the food. Overall, a great sweet treat! Although the toppings are on the heavier side, the pancake itself is a nice light, refreshing dish for the sweet tooth. read more

Idk if I'm a Souffle person. Got the mango yogurt Souffle here. First thing to note is that, it will take about 20 minutes for your order. Apparently it's jiggly and that's a thing here, to take boomerangs of this. It was light, had some mango drenched in mango syrup. It was fluffy as Souffle should be, just still not too special in my books though. I would've preferred a crepe to this with same toppings, just felt like there was a bit too much dough read more

OMG. Have you ever tried their soufflé pancakes? And the whip cream? yo.. totally to die for!! They are so light and tasty , I can probably eat about 10 orders in 1 sitting. I think it's a bit on the pricey side ( around $8.50- 10 per order) which come with 2 pancakes per order.. but the taste is definitely a solid 4-5 stars!! You can also text your order prior to coming to the spot so you don't have to wait 30-40 minutes! They also have the ginger sprite, not sure if this is a common sprite flavor, but it wasn't for me. I would say it's an acquired taste! But not my taste. . read more

Their sign warns you that the pancakes will take 15-30 minutes, and it's no exaggeration - expect to wait. But you'll be rewarded with nice, large, fluffy pancakes, paired with delicious whipped cream and toppings. They're much larger than I was expecting, and I was surprised that they managed to be so tall without collapsing. They're pretty plain on their own, which is why the toppings are key - I went with the original, but regretted I didn't spend the extra $1 for the strawberry blueberry option. read more

The purple yam waffle was really good but I didn't care for the soufflé pancake too much. It came with 2 pancakes and one of them wasn't cooked in the middle. The ridiculous wait time, the price and maybe the fact that im not the biggest fan of souffle pancakes took this place down a notch. With times up to an hour depending on how busy this place is, be prepared to do something else while you wait on these cakes. The Souflee pancakes are a little overpriced imo (9.50 for two cakes? ) and the flavors werent exactly to my likeing, the creame bruele souffle tasted too much like raw egg and the pancakes texture was a little mushy in the middle, i dont know if these pancakes are supposed to be this way or if this place just does a poor job of executing how these pancakes should be. Eggcellent makes excellent egg waffles/"eggettes", or as I like to call them, 雞蛋仔. They're the best I've ever had...probably even better than the famous places in Hong Kong. They were moist, fluffy, and tasted pretty awesome even when cooled. I highly recommend you order them in this order: 1) triple chocolate 2) purple yam 3) matcha. The chocolate one was sooooo good; I was hesitant that it'd be too sweet but it, and the melted chocolate chips inside of it, was perfection. The souffle pancakes were a bit of a disappointment. Though fluffy looking, they were more chiffon sponge cake than souffle - nowhere comparable to that of those in JP... I wouldn't have minded it as much but because the batter was thicker than usual, it didn't fully cook all the way so the inside of our order was quite raw. If anything, just come here for the eggettes! I'll definitely be back to try their pork sung and corn ones because those pique my interest. Standing space is quite limited inside as there are multiple vendors but don't fret, they have an upstairs sitting area in the back. read more

I've been wanting to try the soufflé pancake for a while now since seeing the pancake growing in popularity a few years ago. Eggcellent Soufflé Pancake brings the sweet treat to Flushing. The last couple of times with friends we went to try their souffle pancakes of course. I like how fluffy they turn out by how they fold the fluffy egg whites into the pancake batter. You can actually watch them as they make all the items in the viewing window. Then they top each with toppings depending what you order. I've tried both the matcha and the creme brûlée flavors and delicious I slightly favor the creme brulee one more since the creamy custard sauce pairs well with the fluffy pancake. The soufflé pancake does take about 15 minutes for them to make due to the process, but it's definitely worth the wait. read more

Came here about 15-20 minutes before closing during the fall/winter time of 2019 to try the creme brûlée flavor soufflé pancake. The staff were welcoming despite the time we came, and we got the pancake in about 10 minutes. The pancake was fluffy like a cloud and sweet enough to fulfill my sweet tooth without feeling like it is too sweet or filling. WOW. Just...wow. I should've known that hole in the wall places are often the best. Eggcellent is located inside a very small food court. Very easily missed if you aren't aware of your surrounds, however, if you look right above the entrance, you'll see all the shops located inside (Yifang, Chinatown ice cream factory, legend chicken etc). Ample seating upstairs and the bathroom is key access only. WARNING: They inform you that it takes 15-30 minutes to make the pancake since all of them are made to order. It's also posted all over the shopfront. Do keep this in mind if you're in a hurry. The pancake itself exceeded expectations. Super airy, fluffy, and savory.
