Tiny pieces of fish with tiny burnt up french fries
    Nick D.

I'd like to start out by saying my wife and I have visited this restaurant three times. All three times, we have ordered their catfish dinner. The food is amazing! The fish was really really good and everything else we had there was really good. The third time (5/5/24) was the exception to what I have said, above. The the portions were not correct and the fish was cold... The french fries were tiny overcooked hard pieces about an inch and a half long... Whereas before we had received hot and fresh french fries that were correct length. Received silverware was dirty with food on it. I ordered a soup and when it came out, it had dirty crusted food on the bowl right next to where the soup was located. The drinkware smelled like wet dog and did not seem to be clean. So, I politely asked for a manager, and there was no manager on duty. There was only a team lead (Liz). I asked them to remake the soup and our meals. She said she would and that she would give us 50% off of our meal. She did not apologize. She did not come to check if the items were correct after they were remade. She did not honor the 50% off as she had promised. Overall, she acted like we were being unreasonable... as did other staff members. We were very polite the entire time. We were seated where we could overhear conversations in the kitchen, and there was a loudmouth dark haired server who was sitting at the bar. He said things like: "Hey Liz, there's a fingerprint on this bowl... You better hurry up and get on over there run... Oh, he's taking it to go (soup)... They're just being a A holes (for politely asking for hot food and clean dinnerware)..." Liz chuckled over situation and his words (!) Additionally, the server placed a very hot macaroni and cheese in front of our infant. It was so hot it burnt her own hand. The server did not know the menu and did not know how to write the things down properly on a ticket. She did not come back to check to see if we need refills or how the food tasted. The table was dirty and sticky. Liz was eating in the back kitchen area, over to the right of the line and came out, licking her fingers while walking through the bar area and then went straight over and took somebody's order after doing that and this is before she came over to assist us with the aforementioned remakes. I took the soup to go because I wasn't sure that they didn't spit in it or something after how they were cussing about it and talking about us in the kitchen. I did not end up eating it and, overall, the whole thing was a waste of money and time. There were at least a few people who deserve to be fired due to their unprofessional character and conduct. We will never be back and I will tell everybody that I know this experience was.

Classic Reuben Sandwich without sauerkraut in photo and side of hash browns with customer added ketchup.

Stopped by for our first visit to dine in this afternoon. The service was great as was the food. We were treated with respect and welcomed. We ordered a sandwich with a side of hash browns and sweet tea. The food arrived hot and was very tasty. The sweet tea met our expectations.

Good food prices and the breakfast is some of the best around in Bartlesville. Great service with a fairly encompassing menu.

The tomato had an unmistakable home-grown flavor. If you know, you know. I asked. Sure enough, grown in her husband's garden. An excellent burger. So when we had a chance to partake in a large family gathering at Murphy's I was looking forward to the experience. Upon walking in, I was very surprised at the place as it reminded more of an old diner than a steakhouse. Open since 1946, Murphy's looks like it's been around that long. Lined with red leather seated booths, there was no place for our group of nine to sit except for a round corner booth where we all crammed into like sardines. The menu was quaint, filled with mainly diner dishes and comfort foods. I decided on the favorite, the "Hot Hamburger", which was basically a hamburger on toast, topped with french fries and onions, coated with brown gravy. Service was fine given the fact they were packed with patrons when we arrived. The food was hot and fresh, including the homemade french fries. Everyone in our group seemed content with their food choices. The only real problem was how we were crammed into one little booth and there was no room to relax and visit. I would recommend Murphy's to anyone looking for a home style meal. If you're looking for a steak house experience, try somewhere else or you'll be disappointed.

We were seated upstairs and I really got the vibe that this restaurant could have been in Taos, Red River, or Crested Butte. It's vintage and retro but elevated a bit (if that makes sense). We ordered immediately and I asked about the Pesto Bowl (which was a special). Was told it used to be on the menu about 6 years ago and they were thinking about bringing it back. It was pesto, pasta and veggies but you could add a protein for no extra cost. I just went with the plain bowl (no protein). The Hubs ordered the Steak Dianne ("A throwback to the 1960s"). Thought that was a cool entree to feature. It came with charred (in a good way) Brussel sprouts and delicious mashed potatoes underneath the steak and mushrooms. My basil bowl was pretty good too. The pesto had a great flavor and the veggies were just cooked perfectly--still crisp and not mushy. Only negative was that there was a lot of liquid in the bottom of my bowl. Again, I would return here.
