They were busy this morning. Service was a little slow. The restaurant did very well with my breakfast challenge. Although I ordered sunny side up eggs, they were delivered over easy. I think the young lady that took our order got it wrong. She was not too attentive. I had to finally flag her down to get our check after a lengthy wait. Regardless of how the eggs were cooked they were still excellent. Crispy bacon and crispy hashbrowns as ordered. And there may be a new contender for the best biscuits and gravy in Bartlesville. Try them here at the Midway Café and see what you think. The restaurant is roomy with three dining areas. Comfortable tables and booths. Don't order the meatloaf . It's only made every 3 days and they will absolutely sale you 3 day old dried up meatloaf and then accuse you of " just not liking that kind of food " . The service was the best part of Midway Cafe and I'm thankful for the friendly staff, but I wish we'd gone elsewhere for breakfast. The food was disappointing. The hash browns in particular were underdone, cold and wet in the middle. The omelet was big and filled with meats and vegetables, as advertised, but nothing was seasoned, so it tasted very blah. The dining room was full, so maybe my taste is off, but when I'm back in Bartlesville I'll be getting my breakfast someplace else. read more

Today we were exploring Bartlesville and decided to give this place a try. It's a cute little diner with a very polite staff. We were greeting when we arrived and told to sit wherever we like. Tony, our server, was extremely kind and attentive. There were some locals eating, I like to find local hot-spots, and the atmosphere was light and cheery. My husband ordered breakfast, served day. He had the ham and cheeses omelette with biscuits and gravy, and a pancake. His eggs were cooked perfectly, fluffy and moist. He really liked the flavor of the ham and it was topped with shredded cheese, not a processed slice you see at most places. The biscuits and gravy looked and tasted fresh. He wasn't a fan of the pancake but said it was a personal preference, just a little overdone for his liking. I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes with brown gravy (you have a choice of brown or white), and green beans. The meatloaf was well seasoned and was a big portion. The potatoes were instant but I don't have issues with that, you can add love to instant potatoes- which they did- and they are perfectly fine. The brown gravy was very flavorful and the right consistency. The green bean came with cooked onions in them, I don't like cooked onions but they added a nice flavor. After eating we went outside to look around. It looks like at one time there was a nice outside eating area, maybe they'll bring that back one day. All-in-all this is a great place to stop for a meal. We were filled up and no stomach issues down the road- that's a plus! read more

Come here if you want a delicious breakfast. The four of us had a veggie omelette, cheese omelette, pancakes, grits, bacon, sausage, breakfast scramble, biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns deluxe! All I can say is WOW! Everything we had was delicious and can't recommend one thing over another simply because tastes are different. Do try the Midway for breakfast. I don't think you will. They have Italian food & pizza for lunch & dinner. For breakfast about $20 bucks for eggs, bacon & toast, a great western omelet and a side of biscuits & gravy and 2 coffees. Great deal. Skip the free hotel breakfasts. They are very friendly and service was great, every little thing we requested, they happily delivered. This is great, tasty breakfast food, fast. I am new to Bartlesville and I had a friend from out of town come to visit. He got into town on Friday and we were able to try a few different places to eat throughout the weekend. Right before we left for the airport we decided to go to the midway cafe to grab breakfast and we were both very pleased with the food, service, and the atmosphere. Breakfast plate highlights: steak was marinated, seasoned, then grilled perfectly. I would go here again for the steak. Hash browns were crispy and tasty, not oily. Perfect fried eggs. Fruit salad with papaya-yum! Biscuit was huge and fresh. Burger: generous patty, again seasoned and cooked well. Onion rings thin and crispy, fresh made. Vegetable sides: barley soup well seasoned, good temp. Tabouli salad well seasoned and fresh tasting. Waitress: a pleasant personality, served timely and accurate, attentive. i got an indian taco for lunch and was very dissapointed. what i got was regular taco fixings on a piece of fry bread. this is not what an indian taco is. please, if you do not know how to make a real indian taco then stop pretending that you do and just call your taco, a taco on fry bread instead of in a shell. read more

For the short time I've lived in Bartlesville, I heard mostly complaints about the Midway cafe. Finally, just wanting some diner food on a Sunday afternoon I sucked it up and went it. My first impressions were not good. It's a greasy-spoon style diner, with lots of old folks, and it was pretty crowded. However on a second take, it's a quaint little diner with a happy clientele. The menu really surprised me. It has a variety of foods and seamlessly has managed to blend Mediterranean style food with typical American diner food. I chose to eat a salmon dish with rice, tabouli and mashed potatoes (at the time I had just had oral surgery, or I would have been more adventurous) I've only eaten here once but I really look forward to going back. My only big complaint is that their tabouli is much more watery and less sour than I was expecting. 4/5, more than I would have given any Denny's style establishment, were it not for it's charm and different selection of food. read more

When visiting my mom in Bartlesville, I usually eat at this little diner once. Nothing fancy, but the food has always been good. And the service... these folks are dang polite! As in really good service. If you want good cafe food (and interestingly enough, a good gyro), give it a try. read more
