We are in town for a family reunion and wanted to have dinner with the fam. They recommended this place and I'm stoked about writing this review. Since there was a large group of us, they were willing to set us up in the back room. The burger Ingot always super delicious and the scalloped corn is like a corn casserole...tasty! My MIL got a Reuben and that I didn't like...I'm a bit of a Reuben fan and this was not very good in my opinion. But my wife's smoked meatloaf was delicious and we plan on coming back. The decorations in this place are super cute and funny and I think our server's name was Meagan and she was awesome!

Look at the pictures. That's right, Tumbleweeds décor is red neck, goat roping, pickup truck and spurs. A great place to have a delicious meal before you go out two-stepping, boot-scooting, buckle-polishing the night away. It is also an excellent place to have lunch. The Akaushi beef in the half pound burger is phenomenal. Flavor unlike any burger you will ever have. Juicy, cooked over a flame to give it a slight char essence, but not hiding the taste of that remarkable beef. No "upscale options" like peanut butter, avocado, bacon jam or some "whatever" fusion. Push the lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion aside. The only condiments this burger needs is a little salt and pepper. Eat it with the bun though, so you won't look like an animal holding the big beef patty in your hand, while you eat it. My wife had a great Lunch sized chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and a side salad. Tender tasty beef, breaded just right and fried to an even golden brown. The potatoes and gravy were made from instant but tasty. Fresh greens in the small side salad, with a dressing of your choice. Great service! Absolutely, no complaints about anything.

Chicken fried chicken was good. Green beans had no flavor. Salad and toast were about the same that you'd get anywhere. Our waitress was very nice The hostess seemed annoyed that we didn't want to sit at the bar. Overall it was an enjoyable evening.

So when we had a chance to partake in a large family gathering at Murphy's I was looking forward to the experience. Upon walking in, I was very surprised at the place as it reminded more of an old diner than a steakhouse. Open since 1946, Murphy's looks like it's been around that long. Lined with red leather seated booths, there was no place for our group of nine to sit except for a round corner booth where we all crammed into like sardines. The menu was quaint, filled with mainly diner dishes and comfort foods. I decided on the favorite, the "Hot Hamburger", which was basically a hamburger on toast, topped with french fries and onions, coated with brown gravy. Service was fine given the fact they were packed with patrons when we arrived. The food was hot and fresh, including the homemade french fries. Everyone in our group seemed content with their food choices. The only real problem was how we were crammed into one little booth and there was no room to relax and visit. I would recommend Murphy's to anyone looking for a home style meal. If you're looking for a steak house experience, try somewhere else or you'll be disappointed.

We were seated upstairs and I really got the vibe that this restaurant could have been in Taos, Red River, or Crested Butte. It's vintage and retro but elevated a bit (if that makes sense). We ordered immediately and I asked about the Pesto Bowl (which was a special). Was told it used to be on the menu about 6 years ago and they were thinking about bringing it back. It was pesto, pasta and veggies but you could add a protein for no extra cost. I just went with the plain bowl (no protein). The Hubs ordered the Steak Dianne ("A throwback to the 1960s"). Thought that was a cool entree to feature. It came with charred (in a good way) Brussel sprouts and delicious mashed potatoes underneath the steak and mushrooms. My basil bowl was pretty good too. The pesto had a great flavor and the veggies were just cooked perfectly--still crisp and not mushy. Only negative was that there was a lot of liquid in the bottom of my bowl. Again, I would return here.

We wished, after having went, that we had tried it when we first moved to Bartlesville. We've had amazing hibachi in the past when we lived in Ohio. I have reviews for them on Yelp, also. We've been on the search, though, since that time to find a good hibachi restaurant here in Oklahoma. Our search is now over. The service was very kind and prompt. Refills were offered and empty plates were picked up quickly. The food, itself was of very good quality. Everything was hot and fresh and cooked how we had ordered it. Everything was seasoned appropriately. Nothing was salty or overly or under seasoned. The ambience is very nice and the concept, itself, is very well executed. This restaurant is divided into two parts: one side is where they have a hibachi table and a chef cooking the food in front of you... The other is just a regular sit down restaurant where they bring the food to you already prepared. When we went, my wife and I both had the New York strip and chicken hibachi meals. These came with miso soup and a salad. The salad is dressed with Yum Yum sauce. I would say that the salad was good, but it was really only about half full and there could've been more salad in the bowl. Soup was also very good and it also could have been more full. Those are the only negative things if you want to call them that which I would have to say. The food was excellent. Overall hibachi was the best I've had since Ohio. We genuinely enjoy the food and atmosphere, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. She ordered a filet and shrimp. When the cook placed the steak on the grill, it had a distinctly rotten odor and appeared dark brown/purple. When it was put on her plate "cooked medium just as asked", both my wife and I found it smelled and tasted spoiled. The cook and our server handled the situation professionally and apologized. The manager, however, was rude and unprofessional. He came to the table questioning us as if we were imagining the problem, then used his fingers to pick up and taste the steak directly from my wife's plate after we had already tried it. He declared it "fine" and offered to cook another one. The replacement steak tasted strongly like liver. We left the original on the plate; our dog ended up with the second one. A couple next to us on the same grill who had also ordered steak commented that ours looked so different they couldn't tell that it was steak. We paid over $100 for three people and received no meaningful apology from management--only the implication that we were trying to get something for free. The cook and server were excellent; the meat quality and the manager's response were not. Mistakes happen. Arguing with customers over clearly spoiled food and handling it so unprofessionally does not. Unless we receive a formal apology from the manager, this restaurant has lost our business, our family's business, and any future recommendations I would have given to customers or visitors. We liked coming here. The manager's behavior is what ended that.
