I've been told that this is a Bartlesville favorite and I can see why they have that reputation. Went for lunch and another customer overheard that it was our first time there, she couldn't help but to interject in excitement and tell us everything that was worth getting on the menu and told us that brunch was a must at this spot. Located in the heart of downtown, this spot has a hometown feel with bikes hanging as decor. Service was nothing short of amazing and helpful, and most importantly the food was AWESOME!!! I ended up getting a chipotle aioli burger with fries. Simple dish but I can't say enough how good everything I had was. If you happen to be in Bartlesville, this is a must stop for lunch, dinner, or a weekend brunch. Almost forgot... Homemade ranch was delicious. A solid recommendation for lunch! There was a wait to be seated but since we were meeting coworkers they arrived before we did and had our name on the list! I must admit it was loud during the lunch hour. I found it difficult to hear our server but we managed! The appetizer was the Loaded Cheese Fries - I would definitely recommend! I'm not a fan of Ranch Dressing and I didn't ask if they made their own but it was pretty good. If I make a return trip and I'll order these and ask for sour cream! There were several great choices but I've had this urge to eat catfish so I opted for the Catfish Sandwich. This was a serious sandwich!! A very large piece of catfish was placed between a bun. I actually shared a large pice with a coworker so he could try! Although the sandwich was good, I found that using the lettuce and create a small lettuce wrap was even better! This is a must try if you are Catfish fan! My lunch mates all said the same about the meals - delicious and worthy of a repeat! One ordered the Pork Green Chili - I had to have a taste! Had a nice kick to it and I found it very enjoyable! I did take some of the Green Chili and poured over the remaining fries! Definitely a yes! I went back to review the menu and I saw that you could actually order Green Chili Cheese Fries. To end this lunch one in our group suggested the Bread Pudding w/Ice Cream & Pecans. Thankfully it came with 4 spoons! There is a note that says order 20 minutes ahead so keep than in mind. Now I'm definitely not a Bread Pudding fan but believe me this one will change your mind! We try to go here every time we are in town. They often have dinner specials listed on FB a few hours before they open, so check those out, but the regular menu is great as well. (But no substitutions!) If you enjoy sitting at a bar and chatting, their bar is a place you can meet all the regulars and catch up on what is happening in Bartlesville. We have been going here for well over a decade, back when it was one of the few places in town, and if you showed up a few minutes after they opened, you had an hour and a half wait. And that applied to everybody -- movie stars included. The wait isn't nearly as long now, but during rush times you will be waiting a bit - but they have a back room to hang out in or sit at the bar if seat is available. Either place they will serve you drinks while you wait. Frank and Lola's is a friendly place if you are looking for an ambiance that matches the photos. Many people appear to know each other here because, well, Bartians talk to strangers. And you know it's good when you see former employees of the restaurant eating there. read more

I usually love this place. This time I was a solo diner and the bar was packed and I just didn't feel like being around people so I opted for a table. The woman who sat me was very nice and understanding. The server assigned my table however she was annoyed that I was a solo diner. She did the absolute bare minimum and the only time she was quick to do anything was when it was time to pay the bill. The food was good as always. I was very disappointed with the service. Another excellent evening at one of our local spots. I tried the pico burger and it was amazing, so juicy and delicious. My wife had the cat fish sandwich and it was amazing as well. We finally stopped in to give them a try. It was a Friday night so they were understandably busy, but there were seats outside to sit and wait. It's a small restaurant, and seems to be a local favorite. The booth seats need to be reupholstered, but the place seemed clean otherwise. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the plain burger and fries. The fries are hand cut and very delicious. The burger was juicy and had a good flavor. If I had to compare it to any place, it would be Ron's. My husband had the large pasta with cheese sauce. He said the cheese sauce was good, some of his pasta was not fully cooked, but it's a large portion so he was able to get enough. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert. Warning: when the waitress says the bowl is hot she means the bowl is HOT! I thought it was a good bread pudding, not too sweet. All in all, it was okay. Our meal was $50 ( not including tip ) I felt that was a bit much for a burger & fries, mac and cheese, and bread pudding. We had a tea and a can of soda for our drinks. It didn't make my sensitive stomach upset, and that's a good thing. If you're looking for a descent place to eat downtown Bartlesville, I'd recommend them. read more

I have literally never had a bad meal here. They have the best burgers around, and the green chili is killer. The fries are very good when hot and fresh (but be careful when getting them to-go, because they don't hold up for long in the styrofoam packaging). If you're looking for something lighter, the salmon and salads are also the best in town. They have specials on Friday that are a little pricier but almost always worth the $. The service is usually on point. They have a friendly, welcoming staff with an open kitchen where you can see the food being prepared. The ambiance is artsy -- a little hipster-ish -- but with nods to the building's past history and a charm that fits in well with Downtown Bartlesville's vibes. Some people complain that the music is too loud, but frankly, it's never bothered me. Be warned! They will NOT do substitutions or modifications on their dishes, although they will try to accommodate food allergies, in many cases. I highly recommend trying out the Saturday brunch. The best grits in town by a mile, and the green chili-smothered breakfast burrito is awesome (and huge). read more

One of your basic staples in small town Oklahoma. A lot of different burgers, a couple salad dishes, pasta dishes, a little pork, a little fish. I had the Johnny burger, which is a basic smash burger with jalapeño cream cheese. Fries are a little limp for my style, but average. So far in my experience, they mostly do smash burgers in Bartlesville. I haven't seen a medium or rare patty anywhere. I had a couple cocktails. One refreshing, one sweet and heavy. Busy around 7 PM, was cleared out by 8. I got seated immediately. Staff was attentive. This is an average restaurant. Will try again, but nothing mind blowing so far. They reportedly have a famous bread pudding, which I had planned to try, but the server brought me my check before I was able to ask for it. You're supposed to ask for it about 20 minutes ahead of time because it's made to order. Prices moderate. As others have said, don't expect substitutions. It's written expressly on the menu. Yes, all condiments are extra. Doesn't bother me, but may bother some. Will revisit my rating when I try again. read more

OH, MyAtlanta! Read the reviews and took the chance... PAID OFF! At our table of 5 we had the Johnny Burger, Penne Pasta w/chicken, the Plain Burger (added cheese, bacon and an extra patty) and 2 of had The Melt. Johnny Burger had an AMAZING JALAPEÑO CHREAM CHEESE (obviously homemade), and she took half of it home. The penne pasta was delish and the extra patty proved to be more than he bargained for, resulting in leftovers. The Melt was outstanding (my new fav), fries were perfectly crisp and to top it all off... "Jessie" (sorry don't know correct spelling) our waitress was Top Shelf. Too bad the fries are unremarkable. I was tempted to try their pasta but having experienced another restaurant in town that served a dismal pasta, I stayed away. Instead, I ordered the melt. My dining companion ordered the catfish sandwich. Both sandwiches were very large. Too much to eat in the sitting. The melt was okay. Nothing memorable. My colleague said the catfish was okay. This was an absolutely amazing birthday lunch! I had the patty melt which was cooked to perfection and extremely juicy. This was the best burger I've had in a while. Very happy how the start of my birthday luncheon is going. My hubby had the Johnny burger and his burger was cooked to perfection and very juicy as well. We are extremely impressed with lunch. Yesterday was probably my fourth visit to this popular downtown Bartlesville restaurant. Sitting on a non-descript corner, you really need to know where it is. An old neon sign is on the corner but is not lit or prominent in the day time. The entry has a long bar for seating along with some booths - tables make up the middle and back sections. It's typically busy at lunch, so a wait may be expected. We were able to be seated quickly, the two of us. I did ask for a booth, but they wanted to hold those for a bigger group - I understand but did see other couples in a booth. No big deal - just shows how popular it is and they wish to control the seating capacity. We ordered the "plain" burger and "the melt". The burger was basically a classic cheeseburger with typical accompaniments- lettuce, tomato, melted cheese. The melt was a patty melt on rye with Swiss and American cheeses and a nice creole mustard sauce. Both meals were 8 ounce patties fully cooked through yet still juicy. Homemade fries or chips were the sides, and we both had fries. They were nice, warm, and crisp yet not over cooked. Our server was polite and always kept our drinks full and was timely to help us move on and back to work. Nothing is worse than waiting to pay the bill an excessive amount of time - especially on work lunch. Their overall menu is unique and has some neat apps such as hummus, loaded fries (the table next to us had some and they looked awesome), chicken livers, calamari - entrees also include pasta, salmon, and a ribeye... so it's not just burgers and sandwiches by any means. Many people say this is the best food in B'ville. I can see why. I have to admit that I thought we were going to a nice restaurant that has a bar... but now that I've been there, the ambiance feels way more like a bar that has a restaurant. But the food definitely stands on its own. Like everyone else has reviewed, the calamari appetizer is really good. The slaw is fresh, crisp, and tangy sweet. The fried calamari is hot and fresh with great crunch. I don't know that I really tasted the calamari... but that's because it's fried. They do a really great job on this dish and it's a beautiful presentation. The salmon is AMAZING. The fish had a beautiful sear on the outside which made it crisp on the outside. It was tender on the inside. I loved every single bite. Also, they make an excellent Mai Tai. My dad got a steak cooked perfectly. The pork loin sandwich is HUGE! The peppers on this sandwich made my nephew sweat, so be forewarned, they mean what they say about spicy peppers on this sandwich. The home made chips looked amazing. The pork loin dish was good in that the mustard creole sauce makes this dish, but the pork itself was over cooked. I saw this dish being served to a nearby table and that pork loin looked much better, so I think this was a unique situation. My nephew didn't seem to mind, but I would have been disappointed. The mashed potatoes and spinach with that sauce was killer good though. This place is good! read more

This is a late night review....or rather, late night for Bartlesville. We needed dinner at 8:30 on a Saturday night and our options were limited. We love the green chili at F&L so this was an easy pick. The place was packed but we were seated quickly (to a two-top up against the wall.) We waited a while for someone to check in with us but after we got our drinks, things seemed to move a bit quicker. (Also servers were sweeping and picking up candles all around us---they were ready to get out of there.) We had a good view in the kitchen and they seemed to be rockin' it. The Hubs got the obligatory Green Chili burger and it was excellent as always. Since we hate to order the same dish, I went with the Shaved Pork Loin Melt. It was described as "Fresh pork loin shaved and cooked on the griddle with thin sliced onions and spicy peppers topped with melted Swiss served on toasted Marble Rye with creamy Creole Mustard sauce." The pork was a little thicker than shaved and I attribute the toughness of the meat to it being grilled on the griddle. The sandwich was monstrous and I took the top layer of rye off to eat it with knife and fork. The onions and peppers were good but I got more horseradish than mustard sauce. Next time I will order the green chili burger!!!!! Music selection was fantastic and that's keeping this from a two star (that and the green chili!). read more
