Very good food. Seems more authentic for a fast food restaurant. Clean environment and nice but not fancy. People lovely.

Their super French fries are really good. Everything seems to be very authentic as much as us Gringos want

Great restaurant quality Mexican food for 80% the cost. Everything I've tried here is solid. P.S. one taco is like two tacos!

The service was a little slow even though there was only about a dozen patrons in the restaurant. A variety of salsas are available. None really wowed me. All the food is mildly seasoned. My wife had a couple of beef enchiladas. Strange colored beans. Check the pictures. Mojarra Frita for me. A large fish with fries and rice. It was Ok. Not my choice for the best Mexican food in B'ville, but decent, average. Try it. It might be right for you.

It's not too spicy and the best salsa I've had in bartlesville so far. I ordered the chilies relleno with rice, beans and corn tortillas. My husband ordered chicken pollo loco with flour tortillas. The food came out quickly. The chilie relleno was so cheesy and fried to protection. The rice was so soft and fluffy and the refried beans were extremely good. The tortillas they taste homemade. My husband said it was wonderful. He went on to say the best he has had. The flavor is there for both meals and your taste buds go wild with the flavors. Definitely recommend this place. You definitely need to eat some homemade flour tortillas cause man they are amazing. These tortillas beat Rosa's and mercado Juarez. See for yourself.

Their online menu looks flashy and fancy. Enticing! I have been to the Claremore restaurant twice. That location goes by the name of just, El Maguey Mexican Food. Slightly different menu than Bixby and Bartlesville. Simpler. The food and service is good, and I recommend it. Check that review. What about El Maguey Mexican Grill and Cantina in Bartlesville. I have driven by the pinkish orange building on highway 75 many, many times purposely ignoring it; my car navigation destination locked in on chips and salsas elsewhere. Today, it is the destination. Ok, so you already know what color the outside of the building is. Inside the restaurant is clean without the mucous membrane scorching smell of Fabuloso. Gritty Mexican restaurants favorite air freshener. No high back wood booths or chairs with hand carved colorful scenes of Mexico. A few bright pictures on the wall, hand made vases scattered around here and there. Yeah, is still looks a little Mexicany looking without being gaudy; more on the classy side. On the large menu everything you would expect and a few items that are highlighted with the exclamation of NEW! One caught my eye. Tacos Al Pastor! The picture describes the platter of food better than I can, but I will throw a few words at it to help. Three large tacos. These are not the 50-cent sized, $2 each street tacos that you get from an unknown vendor in a trailer. These are packed with tender juicy pork, grilled pineapple, cilantro and pickled purple onion. I have not had any al pastor tacos, that come even close to these on delivering the flavor. Check the pictures. Add beans and rice, chips, salsa, and a small delicious guacamole...it was a big meal. Two tacos and I was done. That tasty little chili toreado did not go to waste. Oh, be sure to ask for the salsa picosa. Get some spice! That plate was 5 stars. The service today was provided by Mr. Luiz. Exceptional start to finish. On to the Sand Springs location. Then the season finale will be Bixby's, El Maguey Prime. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check the collection "Jalapeno Highway." I've probably been there.

It's always a risk when you don't go to eat a your favorite place, where you know you can get a good meal, and try new place. This time, it worked out actually for the better. I ordered the happy burrito dinner which consisted of two steak burritos and rice with refried beans. My wife ordered chicken enchiladas and normally they come with a Verde sauce, but you substitute white queso for it instead. My steak was marinated and there was so much steak in the burritos that you would call them stuffed. The beans were really good as was the rice. The rice was soft, seasoned well and they were actually vegetables in it. My wife's enchiladas were really good also. They had bell peppers in them in the meet with seasons well and it taste it as if it had been stewed and cooked for a long time that way to infuse the flavors. The service is exceptional. Every time our drinks for low, server came and filled them up. He also brought us chips and salsa I believe three times without an issue. You might think that this was maybe a one time thing, but it isn't. We've now been there three times and every time we go it's the same experience. The food is excellent. The service is excellent and their chips and salsa are amazing. The price is great as well. I believe my steak burrito dinner was $12 and my wife's enchiladas were about the same price. You definitely won't leave hungry and maybe, like we did, you'll find a new favorite Mexican restaurant. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants here in Bartlesville. We've been to I think four or five of them and this is the best.
