When asking about specific items one of the staff helpfully pointed out that the chicken was gluten free. The service was polite but they were not easy work with for v3gan info and they certainly weren't interred in volunteering any information or working with me to make something interesting. I was here with a group and it's too bad this spot isn't more accommodating for v3gans. I will have to have all future meetups planned here switched to any of the other places with better v3gan options.

Everything we had was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The woman at the front counter was especially kind, helpful, and patient while making sure our order was exactly right. When we mentioned how good the red velvet cake looked, she suggested we try a piece. We did, and WOW. Do not leave without getting the red velvet cake. It was so good. We also loved the atmosphere, the setup, the refillable drinks, and all the little details that made this such an enjoyable stop. We're visiting from the West Coast, and this is exactly the kind of place we wish we had back home. We're so glad we stopped here and would absolutely recommend Velvet Taco to anyone visiting Tulsa.

Once we got on the waitlist, they said it would take 20-30 minutes and we gave them our number to receive a text when our table was ready. It was closer to 45 but we didn't mind. We waited inside their to-go building next door since there are some chairs. A guy saw us waiting and came over with a full tray of mini conchas (my love language). I asked if they made them in-house and he shared that they will once they are able to expand and have their own bakery. Something to look forward to! We sat in a booth which was comfortable. The restaurant was absolutely packed and we took a bit to check out the menu since it was our first time. It was hard to decide because everything looked so good! It took a while to get our food once we ordered (about 45 minutes) so we were pretty hungry once food arrived. I highly recommend their corn pancakes. I don't know any other restaurant that offers them and they are delicious. The texture is more hearty and dense than regular ones and they're less sweet as well. If you're undecided on the type of salsa, get their chilaquiles sampler which features 3 different kinds. The charro skillet was also delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more of their brunch as well as their regular menu. They have a great salsa bar. The bar section of the restaurant had live music playing which also added to the ambiance.
