17. Salt and Pepper Ribs
Sheila C.

This is a walkin order to go pick up place. They deliver to surrounding neighborhoods. I decided to get some salt n pepper dried fried ribs. The prices are average there's a bench where you can sit and wait or sit in your car. It's better to call ahead and pick your items up if they don't deliver to you. In the past I've tried the shrimp fried rice and house chow mien and the Mongolian beef plate. All are very good and I will go back especially for the dried fried ribs

I ordered the shrimp fried rice and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Plenty of shrimp and was hot, freshly cooked.

A small little hole in the wall. In the same plaza as grocery outlet. Service was quick and good. Not sure if it just was an off day or a different cook. We wanted to try some of their other dishes. We had ordered the salt & peppered fish, chop suey veggies, and beef chow mein. The salt & peppered fish was extremely salty. The chop suey was over cooked and drenched in sauce. The chow mein barely has any beef and was salty as well. Hopefully if there a next time, the dishes we try doesn't disappoint.

Super greasy! Lemon chicken flavor was alright but it had big clumps of greasy breading.

Great food, quick delivery. Love the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. Rice is sometimes dry, but that's not always a bad thing

The service was super friendly, the servers were very attentive, refilling our waters and teas throughout the meal. We were a party of 6 and they had plenty of space during an early Sunday evening. The food very flavorful without being too oily. We ordered the siu mai, har gaw, chicken feet, radish cake, sizzling rice soup, salt and pepper tofu, longevity noodles, salted pumpkin and eggplant, egg tarts, and lava buns. Honestly, I'd order most of the dishes again! Siu mai and har gow are the classic go-to dim sum dishes for me and they were good, fulfilled my dim sum craving. The eggplant wasn't super flavorful but the pumpkin was delicious. The longevity noodles weren't my favorite but the texture was really good. The lava buns were very lava-y and super hot, we probably should have waited for them to cool down before we started eating them. Portions are pretty good (standard amounts for each dim sum item). They even gave us mango pudding at the end. We also had a few vegetarians in the group and they had plenty of options although for dinner, their chef who makes the dumplings and things are gone so they didn't have some things available. If you're a vegetarian, I'd recommend going in the morning or lunch. Will definitely be back!

FAMILY EVENTS When I…read morego to eat at Chef's Experience China most of the time the occasion is for family gatherings. The year 2024 was the prime example. In February I ate for reception after a family friend's funeral. In June relatives and friends ate here after my nephew's high school graduation. Later that year in September I came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. There's something about this place that attracts family gatherings. Is it the food? The food here tasty and filling. Could it be the ambiance? The Chef's Experience China Bistro is a small restaurant. There are three dining areas. There is one at the side that is used for a banquet, which is the same space that was used for my dad's birthday party. In the middle there is a general dining area. At the back is a small section that could be used for a party - the same area that was used for my nephew's high school graduation celebration. I think what makes this place attractive is the bar when you enter the restaurant. How's the food? I like the stuffed eggplant, which is similar to eggplant parmesan. What I like about the orange chicken is the sauce is served on the side preserving the crispy breading. The sautéed vegetables aren't oily. Even though the menu doesn't seem overwhelming with items there are variety of items served at Chef's Experience China Bistro that you don't see at other Chinese restaurants. Since I mentioned about the bar I've order beverage such as Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, and Shirley Temple. I can't explain it but there is something about the vibe at Chef's Experience China Bistro that makes this restaurant a popular place to celebrate with the family.

We came later in the evening and sat at the bar. They were really busy with phone calls with take…read moreout orders. Eddie, the owner (?), was very friendly and funny. He joked a lot and made us feel very welcomed. We haven't been back here in years. From what I remember, it was because the portion sizes didn't match the prices. Things have changed for the better. Our plates were full and everything we ordered came out hot, fresh and delicious. Shrimp and crab fried spring rolls - we were told this was their signature dish and is the most popular. We would order this every time we come back. Seafood fried rice had a good amount of mixed seafood and NO PEAS! Yaaaaay! Lol Sweet and sour chicken - surprisingly, this is the dish that stood out the most. The chicken tasted fresh and was juicy. In a lot of other places the chicken is more solid and dry. Not this dish. This one was very good!

Asia delight is a humble "point point" combo based Chinese food place. Think authentic Panda Express. Super affordable place where you can get a 2 item combo with chow mein/fried rice for $12.49. My go to is Chow mein, Chinese pork bbq, and the black pepper beef. This location appears to be the only one that carries the Chinese pork bbq. On the side my wife and I split either the salt n pepper fish or chicken wings. A medium gets you about 6-8 pieces of chicken wings. Super solid and they don't skimp on the amount on anything. So the value is there! Low key is enough to spread out into two meals. Staff is direct and efficient. Quick with packing up your items and moving it to the cashiers for you to pay out. They have about 4-6 tables inside with chairs/slide in bench's. Basically a quick spot to grab food and eat or take it to go.

Prepared foods are on a steam table or under hot lights. You pick a meal combo, and they serve it onto foam trays. Then they suggestive sell add-on's and drinks. The formula for success is simple: - tasty food, big portions, and affordable prices. People rave about this place on social media, so I have to come check it out. So it's Friday around dinner time. I'm cruising on Hesperian Blvd in the right lane. I pass the Valero station and realize.....this is where Asia Delight is! They have a dining area with 4-6 small square tables. But the tables looked dirty, and the whole place looked untidy. But the steam table counter looked beautiful. It was loaded with hot food and each tray seemed to be full. Two ladies and one young man were serving. The young man did a good job taking and serving orders. I decide to get the Combo B for $9.45. - fried rice/ chow mein + 2 entrees I got fried rice, black bean spare ribs, chicken w/ string beans in gravy. How was it? No flavor! I don't use the word "bland" very often. Geez, I didn't know there was a shortage of soy sauce, sesame oil and salt & pepper. Maybe chili oil will help. Would I come back? No thanks

I take all of my pictures with my phone, but I generally write my reviews on my laptop where I have a full keyboard to work with. The first two visits, my wife went in while I waited outside with the dog. This time, I was travelling solo. I had been out and about and decided to pick up some grub for dinner. Our first visit, we got some Chicken Wings and absolutely loved them. Our second visit, we got more Chicken Wings, but we couldn't remember which ones we had gotten the first time. We didn't enjoy them quite the same at the first time. To resolved the issue, this time I ordered two different types of Chicken Wings. Did we solve the problem? Maybe? Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (4) - While the wings were excellent, we felt that overall, the dish was too salty. Deep Fried Chicken Wings (5) - Once again, excellent wings. Without the add-on Salt, Peppers and Garlic, these were more to our liking, though some Garlic would have been nice. Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce - (5) - I grew up eating fresh fish from live tanks in Chinese Restaurants. They were either cooked with Black Bean Sauce or Ginger & Scallion. Post COVID, many restaurants have done away with their live tanks. Frozen fillets will never taste or feel like freshly dispatched fish, but these were pretty decent. Assorted Seafood Chow Fun (5) - Fish, Calamari and Shrimp. Used to be a time where you could expect a scallop or two, but those days are mostly gone. While this restaurant used to have dine-in service, it appears to be take-out only now. Service was relatively fast and efficient. The food is solid. We'll definitely be back.
