I'm not one to bash a home restaurant, I know how hard it is to get customers to come back. My family goes out each weekend to breakfast, we try to branch out from time to time and tried this one last weekend. The first impression is not bad, decent size... Had to wait for a few minutes for a table and got drink orders promptly. We ordered and asked for some simple requests, to have some food cooked a certain way. Don't over cook the waffles, not too much brown. Asked about a German pancake dish and asked about some kids food. My omelette was not good at all. The egg portion was not airy, and the components of the omelette were not a good compliment to the dish. I tried the omelette called the Works with no sour cream. Was not impressed at all and like I said tasted bland. Even with to sauce. Kids didn't like the waffle, it came overlooked as ordered. This is my go to breakfast/brunch location. The location is easy to get to, parking isn't bad. The wait can be a bit on Sunday's when church gets out so try to avoid that time if possible. The restaurant is always clean and the wait staff is extremely friendly. I have yet to have a bad service experience. I usually get breakfast, just the traditional. Eggs sunny side up, toast, hash browns and extra crispy bacon. They usually get the bacon exact every time! I recently tried the pollo pods which are awesome if you want something Mexican and other than your traditional breakfast. Also, the burger and homemade onion rings are to die for. I've had some bad experiences at Red Robin and they specialize in burgers. Egg it On has somehow perfected the burger, go figure! The burgers are always fresh, never frozen patties. I had an omelette that was over-cooked, my sausage patties were those salty processed ones that McDonald's serves....and the lady who helped me over the phone was LESS than helpful, then had the audacity to tell my husband it would have been cheaper had I ordered differently! The pitcher of water on the table was a nice touch, too bad BA water has taste issues. This place definitely has the mom and pop vibe. It's one of the few places where I can get scrambled eggs with chorizo, hashbrowns, and toast. As i've mentioned before, I don't like to eat lunch at restaurants that specialize in breakfast because I'm a firm believer that there are only so many things that one can do well, and my theory proves right again. Had a slight mishap where they thought i left because i was sitting on the bench outside waiting, and didnt call my party's table until i noticed people that got there later than us were being seating before us, they immediately resolved the problem. I ordered the soithern style busicut s and gravy meal. I was expecting a big plate but ot was just one buscuit cut in half with a side of eggs and potatoes. It said the gravy was homemade but it tasted pretty bland to me. My eggs looked cooked medium well like I ordered but they just didn't sit well with me. The coffee was disgusting in my opinion and I drink my coffee black. Almost tasted like hot water :/. I had to order a chocolate milk which, well, tasted like chocolate milk. The waiter provided good service but when somebody wearing cargo shorts and a tucked in t shirt came by - I'm assuming a manager or the owner to check what was going on, he was extremely rude and refused to listen to my complaints. He said the food was fine when I told him I didn't like it. The restroom doesn't feel like it was supposed to be a bathroom. The only men's stall available has a partial wall partition. It is not easy for the dreaded eye contact to be made which is always appreciated. The cleanliness is subpar. I am so disappointed. I love this restaurant and have been many, many times. It has always been a must after church. Today was the first time I realized how expensive the drinks are. There were 4 of us eating, 3 had coffee and the other had tea and orange juice, a very small orange juice. The cost for drinks alone was just shy of $10.00. I found this to be a bit outrageous, so after paying my ticket, I took the time to express my concern to the manager/owner lady. Even though the staff has always been really friendly, this lady never smiles or welcomes anyone. Once I stated that I felt the drinks were a bit overpriced, she began being condescending, rude, short tempered and basically conveyed the attitude that I didn't have to return if I didn't want. Well trust me, as much as I will miss the great food, I don't intend to support a manager/owner with such bad customer service skills. Mind you, this woman has seen me there on many, many occasions, so she was very aware that I'm a good customer. She clearly doesn't appreciate her returning customers. If I could give this place a negative five stars, I would. I have never been treated with such disrespect and rudeness. Last Saturday, my son (tween), grandson (infant) and I went early in the morning for breakfast. The usual rush had not started. We were immediately seated but waited over 10 minutes for a server to come take our drink order. I was having issues getting my grandson in his booster seat, had to give him some medicine and was just about to seat him when the rude female owner advised me that people were "starting to complain" because my infant was a little fussy. The place was not busy and therefore there was not the usual noise to buffer a little fussiness of a small child. I was so mortified, embarrassed and upset, that we just left. I would have never expected to be treated this way by a local small business, especially not one that my family has been supporting for over 5 years!!! It is very unfortunate that my family was treated with such disregard that we will be finding another place to have our Saturday Morning gatherings.
