I admit I have not been here for a couple of years. In that time, they have stopped offering their delicious chicken salad and only offer their Door County chicken salad. This is VERY bad news for people with nut allergies. Since allergies are so prevalent ~ was that even taken into consideration? Too bad ~ you are SOL. I wanted lunch and did not have a taste for breakfast food which really limited my selections. It was clean and once we got our servers attention, we were able to place our order. I came here on a Saturday morning to meet a friend who I haven't seen in ages (we were in town for our high school reunion). 5 stars for service -- we sat here for 2 hours and never felt rushed. Our server was great and kept our coffee carafe refills coming. Her banana bread french toast looked and smelled incredible. I do wish that they had some vegan/vegetarian options, but everything is very egg-forward (which is to be expected given the name of the restaurant. But, it would be nice to have an option to get avocado toast without having to pay for eggs that would go to waste). They do have some sides, though, that I assume are meat free (unless they fried potatoes in bacon fat or something). Ate here this morning at 10:00am. Got seated in 10 minutes. Oat latte wonderful, creamy and hot, their special pumpkin pancakes were absolutly to die for. And my skillet had potatoes that weee slightly crispy with basted eggs done perfectly. Fruit cup was so fresh. The best thing about our experience was Edgar the waiter. He was very attentive, fast, efficient and positive. What a pleasure. Used to be one of my favorite breakfast spots as a vegetarian, but now with their new change to the harbor potatoes, 80% of the menu is inedible. I really enjoyed their skillets, but they just aren't the same without the diced potatoes. It would be nice if they offered the harbor potatoes fried in something else, because shredded hashbrowns, while adequate, change the nature of an entire dish. read more

This location is much better than other locations from a service standpoint. It's very cozy and the ambiance is generally peaceful and it's nice they have those big windows. The food is excellent we love their skillets the only thing we don't love is the lack of flexibility or variety of skillets - for example Matt's Meaty skillet comes with all meat but no green pepper or onion to add those they'd upcharge you $2. Though given the location in the heart of downtown Geneva, they can get away with that. The service is generally great, no complaints there. The coffee is great as well. read more

First I want to make it clear that overall the food is excellent. However, I am going to be nit picky and inform you that the habanero hash is dry. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Door County Chicken salad. I love that this item is served as a melt meaning that it is served with cheese and grilled like a grilled cheese sandwich. You could also opt for the traditional preparation on toast or bread with or without cheese. The egg salad is also really good. The recipe is more traditional as opposed to creative, but I love it. It is available in the same preparations. Please be aware that the chili is thick and has almost no broth. Personally, I prefer something more brothy. It's nice how flexible they are with the side items. A lot of items come with a small salad and or harbor potatoes, which are seasoned cubed potatoes. If you don't want a potato or salad it could be swapped out for toast, a biscuit, or fruit. Shredded potatoes which is their version of hash browns are also available and the harbor potatoes are available loaded. Please read the menu carefully. A nice spot for breakfast and brunch located in downtown Geneva. I came here recently for brunch and it was a good experience overall. Everyone of there staff members were nice and wearing a mask. If you've been to one Egg Harbor you've kind of been to them all: good brunch, but have fun if it's a weekend! Gladly today was a week day so my dining companion and I were seated quickly and didn't wait long for our food either. My biscuit with jam and bacon were the best; cheese grits were pretty bland and not very warm so the slab of cheese on top didn't want to melt into the grits very easily. My companion went with lunchier fare with the chicken tortilla soup and egg salad sandwich (the latter very messy, though he enjoyed the taste). Also, I ordered the strawberry OJ but it never arrived...but did show up on the bill! :/ Our waiter was attentive (except about the OJ) and friendly. In the time of Covid: plexiglass walls were erected between booths so people were not as staggered as they are at most indoor dining sites. Typically, we love EH. Today I went for a lunch instead of breakfast. I ordered the egg salad sandwich. It was a good value with potatoes and salad. My only thing was that the egg salad was pretty boring. Luckily they had mustard and so I added that, which made it better. The poppyseed dressing on the salad was a great idea, but again not a great quality. My wife ordered the Rizzo skillet or something like that. It came with 2 eggs and she thought it was shown with 3 eggs. It was an omelet that was put into a skillet. It was GF and she said it was good. Again, confused about this. Typically, the service is outstanding. Not today. Maybe she was new, so more training would be good. It's good to have wait staff always bring extra napkins whenever a sandwich is ordered. We also had to ask other staff for more tea and water. I'll go back to the great breakfast items. Coming from St. Louis, we have First Watch and I like EH better, BUT First Watch has grits. Not sure if WH has that. Anyhow, we LOVE the iced teas and always blend them. That is also a huge draw for me! So, this visit, we were underwhelmed.... Next trip, maybe we I'll give it another try. First of all the service was great! If you can have her as a server, Dawn J did an awesome job! Second, the vibe of the place was really comfortable, like going to grandma's for the holidays. The custom Egg Harbor mugs and plates really put the ambiance together. But now: The food. It was awesome! I had the San Antonio skillet and I couldn't have eaten it any quicker. I devoured that meal. The eggs on top were cooked well then the bits under? So good! Toasted bacon bits, jalapeños, vegetables, potatoes with egg on top? So good! Plus, the butter toasted English muffins? Perfect. I'm not even a fan of jams but the jam that came with it was really good! My partner had the strawberry French toast. Just like jams, I'm not a fan of berries like that either, but the French toast with the strawberries and drizzle was really good! For black coffee, they also leave you your own container so you can continue to drink coffee, which is a huge plus for me. Lastly, the cranberry mimosa? Great presentation, great taste. This place is pretty good! Came here with my sister a week ago because we visited Geneva, and I got the Smokey Mountaun Scrambler, which was delicious, though I wish more bacon was inside of it. The coffee was fresh and great, and the English muffin that came with my food was amazing, but so buttery that I had to squeeze some out and I still got heartburn from it. Service was fast and we got seated right when we walked in. Our waitress was also super friendly and personable. One downfall of this place is the seating. It is my go to when we had an Egg Harbor closer to my home but we took an hour drive to Geneva and had brunch here and the food was just as good as I remembered. I got the strawberry OJ which was sweet and tangy. The lobster scrambler has big chunks of lobster with creamy Hollandaise on top served with their awesome side of potatoes and English muffin with homemade jelly/jam. My friend got their chorizo hash and said it was good but a little on the dry side. Will definitely take a trip back just for the lobster scrambler lol! read more

We've been avid fans of Egg Harbor Geneva since it first opened. We don't go as often anymore bc we moved out of the area. We went this week to "treat" ourselves. However, the food was mediocre at best, and service just ok, not great as it used to be. It wasn't very crowded so no good excuse for lame food & service. Soup was served barely warmed, potatoes were cold. Food (bacon especially) tasted pre-cooked and warmed up (but not very well.) My gf cinnamon roll was good, but tiny. My husband liked his chicken salad sandwich. Our experience was very disappointing. I hope this is not the norm now for what used to be a wonderful restaurant. read more

Very cute restaurant with high quality breakfast food. We went on a Sunday morning, and there was quite a wait! My girlfriend checked in online and we were told 10-20 min...but it wound up being 35-40 by the time we were seated. We wish that part would have been more organized/reliable. Wait time aside, our waiter was extremely kind and attentive. She checked up on us often and made our dining experience enjoyable. We decided to go on an adventure and drive into Geneva for brunch at Egg Harbor. We all missed it as it closed in our neighborhood. I ordered the lobster scramble which was just as I remembered. Sweet lobster chunks, scrambled eggs and a lovely hollandaise sauce. It was served with an English muffin and some lovely jam and tender, seasoned potatoes. I ordered coffee as well which was very strong and bitter. I used the whole container of cream and still bitter. So that was disappointing. I suggest trying Egg Harbor Cafe on a week day- avoid the hangry customers and the overworked staff. Do you like Roosters! If the answer is yes... this is the place for you. :) Ambiance is similar to that of a "well-to-do suburban country home". However, the food will not disappoint. Yummy, fresh and some local ingredients utilized in the cooking. Service can be a a bit spotty when busy. We had to ask for water and coffee refill several times during brunch.
