Went here on a Saturday morning around 8 AM with a friend. There's plenty of seating so we got a booth in the back. I was so happy to see that they've updated their menu to clearly notate that their harbor potatoes are made with beef tallow. They also mention that their hashbrowns are made with oil. This transparency means a lot to me since I'm vegan. I just wish there were more vegan options on the menu as a whole. I ordered the avocado toast and substituted hashbrowns for the eggs that are normally served with the dish. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our server was outstanding! I like the ambience here because it's very comfortable and feels like home, unlike some other breakfast restaurants which are so bright and sterile looking. read more

The inside is warm and welcoming - the staff here is ultra friendly and helpful and the food is great. Everything we had here was really just what we needed. I do wish the Matt's meaty skillet had larger pieces of the ham, bacon and sausage - they were minced up really small. For me, the best breakfast option in this area of Deerfield. Everything about this setup is great, from plenty of parking to lots of sunlight in a spacious dining room to a large menu with reasonable prices, all with fast friendly service. As a bonus, the menu has a nice variety of interesting items like habanero hash and eggs, cherrywood avocado toast, shakshuka, and Swedish pancakes -- as well as interesting drinks such as Iced Pumpkin Apple Macchiato and Pumpkin Spice Latte expresso. The food here meets the great quality I generally expect from Egg Harbor Cafe, with colorful presentation, distinct textures, bold flavors, and fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed the attention paid to the little details like the crisp edges and spongy texture of the pancakes. Or the consistency of the sauce on the lobster scrambler. Even for more mundane items like the English Muffin, I appreciate how neatly it is cut, buttered, and slightly crisped and goes perfectly with the jam. The shakshuka also had a very great balance of different flavors with the tomato-pepper-onion and nice extra boost of meatiness from the egg and flavor from the goat cheese and cilantro. This was the first time I had this dish and Egg Harbor's well executed version made me a fan. Overall, a great spot for breakfast in Deerfield with plenty of delicious and fun options for all. I love love the chicken and wild rice soup. The tomato was not my favorite it was missing flavor. The avocado toast with bacon and fig drizzle was delicious. Service was good, fast but overall good. My husband and I met a friend on a Sunday morning at Egg Harbor Café. When we arrived it was busy but we were able to be seated right away. Our server was friendly. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and my husband ordered the lobster scrambler. The pancakes were just the way I like them, malty with crispy edges. Even when I was full, they were so good that I couldn't stop eating them. The lobster scrambler was good as well. The lobster was good and it came with a creamy hollandaise sauce. The jam that comes with the English muffin is also very tasty. As we were leaving the restaurant was starting to fill up and a line was forming. Extensive menu with generous portions. We signed up on the waitlist on Saturday morning. When we arrived, there were ample open tables so we were seated immediately. One of us ordered a coffee and I like that they also give you a small carafe. Likewise with my Diet Coke -- they also gave me a full carafe of DC. There are many options for eggs, pancakes, Bennies and lunch items. I ordered a garden frittata and it was loaded with veggies and cheese, came with delicious harbor potatoes, an English muffin and jam. We also split a Strawberry French toast -- 3 large Texas-sized toast -- which was ok. This place gets packed on the weekends -- and staff is friendly and able to manage the hungry crowds. I was unimpressed by the food here. I had poached eggs, an english muffin, potatoes, and vegetarian "meat." The eggs were actually quite good; I hate it when they arrive in a pool of water, but these did not. The yolks were perfectly runny (which is crucial) so that was a plus. The rest of the meal, however, had been cooked hours earlier and had been sitting in steam trays. The English muffin, potatoes and "meat" were dry. The potatoes were not seasoned and so very dry. They sprinkled some green onion on the top, although I can't discern what that was supposed to accomplish. The English muffin was a little burnt and the "meat" was also very dry and overcooked. No wonder my meal arrived so promptly - they had to cook only the eggs. The oat milk mocha was fabulous, so thanks to the barista. Looking at the other reviews here, people have mentioned the staff and I agree that the staff was polite and efficient. My server, Angel, was at my elbow as soon as I put the menu down and showed up soon after I rested my flatware on my dish. So points for the staff. read more

We visited for Sunday brunch and were seated right away. Our server, Darren was very friendly and made good recommendations to my husband who can never decide what he wants to order. I ordered the berry oatmeal and my husband got the pumpkin pancakes with eggs and bacon. They berry oatmeal was creamy and delicious with a heaping mound of blueberries and blackberries. It came with milk and sugar to doctor the oatmeal to my liking. I was pleased, sometimes restaurant oatmeal can be runny and weird. The ambiance is the family friendly breakfast vibes. Pretty consistent throughout the locations. My favorite item is the Cassie's crepes which they have since taken off the menus however, if you request it, they can make it for you using the Swedish batter. This is an amazing brunch place. Food and coffee were delicious, and the interior was pleasant. It can be crowded on weekends, but I was still able to be seated without waiting too long. The portion size was decent. I wasn't able to finish my coffee so they allowed me to take out, which I thought was very nice. I ate here before going to a nearby water park (Hidden Creek Aquapark) and the food lasted long. I didn't get hungry too early after hours of water activities. Went to Egg Harbor Cafe for lunch today and had a really nice meal. We were greeted right away and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. They were quite good with plenty of blueberries in them and they were served with blueberry compote and syrup. You get to choose if you want 1, 2, or 3 which is nice. My wife ordered the garden scrambler which is a scramble of mushroom, spinach, tomato, and Jack cheese. She also liked hers but especially liked the Cookies & Cream Harborccino drink that she ordered with her meal. I highly recommend that drink, it was excellent! We've been coming to this Egg Harbor for several years and rarely if ever are we disappointed by service, food and general attitude. Last week on a particularly busy day, it took a while for my food to come and then it wasn't 100% correct and the manager, Tim, immediately treated us to breakfast and was beyond apologetic. This is the kind of neighborhood place to go and enjoy a relaxing breakfast, brunch or lunch and know that the food is hot and delicious and you'll be well taken care of and that everything is almost always perfect. I used to frequent the Egg Harbor in Lake Forest, so I was glad to see this location open up closer to my home. I've been there a few times now and have had great experiences. The breakfast menu is extensive with options from French toast and pancakes to scrambles and oatmeal. They also showcase seasonal specials. I prefer savory breakfast so I almost always get a scramble or benedict. They're excellent about substitutions (I don't like Canadian ham and they let me swap bacon in on the benedict) or customizations (food allergies). The homemade jam that comes with the English muffins is one of my favorite parts of coming here. And I like that they have a rotating selection of flavored coffees in addition to their standard roast. Service is friendly and attentive. I've gone alone a couple of times and bring a book; the servers check in without hovering. All of my visits to this location have been on weekdays, which means they haven't been too busy. I can imagine that's different on the weekends. Overall, worth stopping in for breakfast. They also do lunch, but I haven't been to this location for that yet. read more

I came back again with a party of 7 - 5 adults, a toddler and baby for Sunday breakfast. Service and food was once again exceptional. I was worried that the wait would be a bit long for a slightly larger group but it was fine. Their homemade corn beef hash remains one of my favorite dishes. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food. Substitutions/customizations were always honored without push back and I've always felt confident that I will get what I asked for. I can't speak too much on the ambiance, but it was always neat and clean when picking up my order. This Egg Harbor location opened last year and I finally made it in for a try. The restaurant is small but comfortable and offers some outdoor seating. The menu has a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. I found the menu to have options but not too many options like you sometimes see at breakfast/lunch places. The service was friendly. My husband had a veggie omelette with chorizo added in. He mentioned that the ingredients were well mixed together opposed to being layered in which happens at some restaurants. I had the Arlington Eggs Benedict. It was ham, tomato, egg and cheese on a English muffin, no hollandaise sauce. My meal came with a side of breakfast potatoes. My meal was good but nothing I want to rush back for. I felt like my meal was warm but not freshly made warm. The potatoes had a brown color to them which would suggest they were crisp but I found mine to be soft. I'll likely give Egg Harbor another try since it's walking distance from home, but it's not my new top breakfast choice for Sunday morning. read more

About $40 for 2 people with a meal each as well as an alcohol beverage. The mimosas were normal, the strawberry orange juice didn't have much strawberry flavor but still good. The shakshuka was amazing and very flavorful! It came with their English muffin and jam. The jam tasted like a sweeter regular tasting jelly, nothing fancy. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was really good! Eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were crispy but also soft (not mushy). The gravy was good, I added more pepper but my fiancé said it was fine without adding more pepper to it. I would definitely come back and request angel. He was really nice and made sure we had everything and refilled our water and was Lovely. Besides the great service, the food is excellent. I was disappointed when I first arrived that I had to wait 20 minutes but after giving my number to the hostess, my phone alerted me 5 minutes later. I ate the grilled chicken and avocado on Texas toast. Definitely surprised I ate one of four lunch sandwiches on the menu but it was excellent. And the side salad had a great dressing.
