A small and unassuming strip mall spot with a lovely calming atmosphere. The front was under construction on this day, but they were thankfully open all the same. Little one bite treats, cookies and pastries, full cakes and slices too! I spotted an un-marked tray of cookies that looked nice, turns out they were soft ginger cookies with jam filling. Raspberry or apricot, and baked in different shapes so you know what's what. Clever... and delicious. The edges were definitely a bit dry but once I hit the jam it was perfect! I also grabbed a triple chocolate mini dome for later. That was quite good as well. Not too sweet, but velvety and flavorful. What's the next holiday I can use as an excuse to get a full cake? I'd definitely come back for a snack too!

It can also be loud but we were fortunate to pick a time when it wasn't crowded. For our meals, two people had cheap salads and one had a Caesar salad. All were good. For our meals, two people shared a thin crust pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. One had the Cowboy Sandwich and I had the Mr. Miyagi wrap. Portions are huge and the food is good overall. The Cowboy Sandwich was huge and very good. My Mr. Miyagi wrap was also good. It could have had a little more chicken on it, but it was fine. (The aioli had a nice kick to it.) For the pizza, the dough was a little bit sweet. The edges were crusty like Chicago tavern pizza but the center was a little soggy. As mentioned the service was great - not just the server but the support staff, too.

Then came the deep dish assault: a pepperoni (15"), a margherita (15"), and a Father George (10", which is what I ordered) between the four of us on pizza duty. We barely made a dent and ended up taking home a ton of leftovers. A few others at the table ordered burgers instead and seemed to enjoy those too. If you're going with a group, order less than you think you need. These pies are enormous and every bite delivers. We all left full and satisfied for hours afterward.

To Egg Harbor Cafe DBA Egg Harbor Management Co and Hamco, Inc I purchased a Giftcard on your site for a Mother's Day gift on 5/4/26, since my Mother has been a patron of Egg Harbor for many years. My Mother went to Egg Harbor (at The Glen/Glenview) on 5/19 to use the Giftcard, but they were turned away because she didn't have the 16 digit card number for the Giftcard. She never got the text message from Toast, providing that 16 digit card number. She showed the staff proof of purchase via the receipt of the giftcard that has a Payment ID, Credit Card information, and purchase date. They were told to go to the Bannockburn location by the person acting as manager that day (Alex). There isn't a Bannockburn location - that's the address for the corporate office that was at the top of the e-receipt. I called Alex at the Glen location and after realizing he's very confused and misinformed i called the Deerfield location to get clarity. I spoke to another manager, Deerfield manager (Darren), who informed me that Giftcards can be used at any location so My Mother went back to the Glen and they awaited for over an hour for assistance/clarification and we're not assisted properly. They were told to call Toast to get further information. We called Toast and they informed us the restaurant corporate office is responsible in this situation. So I called Egg Corporate/Hamco (847) 478-5100 on May 19, left a voicemail and called back multiple times throughout the day - no response. I Called May 20 a couple times in the morning and finally spoke to Michelle (front office) and she said I need to talk to the We care team. I asked her to pass my information along and get a call back before end of day. She said OK. There was no call back. -Your Team at the restaurant level is misinformed and rude -Your Corporate Team is unresponsive -Your Giftcard program is mismanaged and frankly seems like a scam at this point. I would like a refund for my Mother's Day gift.

The spicy chicken sandwich $21 was extremely soggy and chewy, and their "spicy" part is just hot sauce. It had no flavor. It was such a disappointment. Service (1/5): There was a guy and a girl working and the girl was on coffee duty, while the guy was just taking orders and talking about lotion and soft hands. It was so weird. Ambiance (2/5): At least there's like 3 seats to sit on while you wait for your food. Other than that, it's just an "order, wait 25 mins, and take your soggy food home" place. They are a gluten free place too. Everything is put into Styrofoam take-out boxes. The prices are dine-in prices for soggy, flavorless food. I understand gluten free ingredients are expensive, but $22 for a skillet where 3 (eggs, bacon, and veggies) out of the 4 items (eggs, bacon, veggies, and bread) are already naturally gluten free is disappointing. I felt ripped off. @meni - Thanks for the comment! Cute business name! ;)
