Honestly, superb. Quickly became one of my favorite breakfast and brunch places in the city. I'll be here regularly. Service has been amazing, friendly and attentive, always served with a smile. Then the food, again, great. This might sound weird, but the thing that surprised me the most was the English muffin and jam, which comes with most of the breakfast dishes. I've never been a fan of English muffins before, but I'd come back just for those! Everything is served fresh and fast, great flavor. It seems to be one of the few breakfast places that isn't afraid to actually season things! The Habenero hash and San Antonio skillet are two of my favorites. Great coffee, the Jump Start coffee has become my go-to as I'm not a big fan of sweet coffee and that is perfect. Even just their standard coffee is pretty good. I keep forgetting about the cold brew coffee and kombucha, but I know those will become standards for me when it gets warmer out. The only negative is the location is a bit hard to get to and off the beaten path, but worth the trip. read more

Yes it's as good as everyone says it is. Good food, not over priced and an attentive wait staff. read more

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service! We make sure to stop in every time we are in Chicago.

This place was just ok. My wife ordered the avocado toast but the strange this was, the bread was not toasted. The flavors were ok. I ordered scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and the meal came with potatoes and an english muffin. Again, just ok. The turkey bacon was undercooked. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant itself was very quaint. read more

Quality food and service. Could be easier to find for some simple minded Iowan like myself!

I like the vibe. The waiter was really helpful and kind. I like strawberry orange juice. read more

Came here on a recent visit to Chicago and man this was some of the best breakfast I've ever had. Everything from The cinnamon French toast , eggs and cheese grits were delicious. The prices are reasonable and the service was great. After leaving Chicago I found out that they have locations in Georgia where I live so I will definitely be going to their other locations in the near future. read more

Food was great, came out quickly, staff was very friendly. Only caveat was after being there for about an hour, without fail, every song was ONLY Taylor Swift lol read more

To be honest it was a terrible food. Bacon and potatoes are fried too much like a chips. Waste of money and time.

We went here because the other place was packed. I'm glad we did. Prices were cheaper and quality was basically the same. I had the same breakfast as the other place. I'd go back. read more

Food was amazing! Joined the virtual queue before we left our hotel and waited til there was 15-30 minutes left to leave, got there and only had to wait 5-10 minutes. You have to time it right though because it's very busy and need to be there when your table is ready. Worth the wait!! read more

Visited restaurant for breakfast yesterday and this morning. The restaurant is very welcoming and offers both bloody Mary's and mimosas. The coffee service was very nice. The food was presented nicely. The portions sizes were good. I only gave 4 stars because we were given a carafe of tap water with no ice and the glasses were warm. read more

Such a cute place!! Servers are so kind and very attentive. As a celiac, it's tough to find a spot that not only offers a dedicated gluten free menu, but also serves great!! Would highly recommend! read more

I ordered delivery, and was pretty disappointed with what I received. The cinnamon roll french toast was good, but a small portion for the price (two pieces). Plus, it was packaged in a box with my scrambled eggs, which meant the eggs were soaked in cinnamon glaze. I also ordered a side of mac & cheese and toast. The mac & cheese was literally just Kraft. Like the microwave kind that they use in kiddie meals at chain restaurants. And they just completely forgot my toast, so can't even comment on that. Maybe it's a better experience in-restaurant? They don't seem equipped to handle delivery orders though. read more

Everything is a five star at Egg Harbor Cafe! The menu is awesome! I have been several times and tried something different each time. All of which have been amazing! Their signature egg seasoning is a perfect blend of seasoning. Purchased some for home and now use it on everything! Also, the staff are super friendly! read more

Perfect 10, and I've never given that out. Visiting Chicago. Seated immediately, food came quick and was excellent. Had the avocado grilled chicken sandwich that came with a small side salad w poppyseed dressing and potatoes. Dressing was great, sandwich was excellent, potatoes were good with a little salt n pepper. Refills on the iced coffee, she had the strawberry crunch French toast and strawberry mimosas. Tina was our waitress and she was super pleasant and accommodating. She even gave the bill to her instead of me so that was great lol. You won't go wrong here, you'll be full, satisfied and won't break the bank. Plan to go back before leaving. read more

Best food, amazing people. Very nice ambience and plenty of seatings . Truly enjoyed it

Not kid-friendly, only focused on getting you in and out. 3 stars because the food was good. We showed up on a Sunday morning at 10 AM, and we were told it would be close to an hour to get a table for 3 adults and a high chair. My 2-year old isn't great at waiting, so I stayed at home while my wife and friend waited at the place. Once the table was ready, they had to wait even longer because they wouldn't sit us until the table was ready. Showed up, and the hostess tells us that we can't bring the stroller to the table. This would make sense if there wasn't a ton of room around the table to store the stroller - which there was - but fine, I respect their decision to have this policy. Now I have to take my kid out of the stroller, fold it up, and make everyone wait while the hostess sits there staring and waiting. We sit down, got some tea, and ordered food. They had a nice selection of tea and coffee. My wife ordered the sweet potato skillet, which looked nice, the sprouts were cooked well, and the eggs were a perfect over easy, but the dish was still a bit bland. I ordered the habanero hash, which was quite good. Cheesy, crunchy, eggs over easy, overall excellent dish. The homemade jam and muffin were a nice addition as well. About five minutes after we got our food, the waiter dropped off the check, which was unexpected and definitely made us feel unwelcome. We finished the meal and got up to leave, and had no help whatsoever in opening up the stroller and getting recombobulated, as they had put the stroller in the middle of a giant group of people waiting for their tables. Not helpful. Honestly, based on my experience at this place, I would rate it less, but the 3 stars were because the ambience was cool, and the food was pretty good. If they want to up their game, they really need to train their staff to not act like all they care about is shuffling you in and out without stopping to help at all. I felt extremely unwelcome with the stroller. Most likely will not be returning. read more

In reality, the food is pretty good. The people were really nice. I'd eat here again. Why the 2 stars then? Because they cheaped me on the bacon. Come on people.. it's bacon, people want more of it, not less.. one thin measely slice for a whole half of a club sandwich. It hardly covers 1/3, when part of the flavor profile is bacon! Which makes me wonder openly, if they cheap out here on $0.25 bacon, do they cut corners in other places. All in with tip.. $17, I expect just a little more effort. I had to add my own bacon at home... boo, but at least I got some in every bite. read more

Came here with my parents and partner on a busy Monday morning. We expected it to take a little bit longer than usual as the restaurant was clearly seating every table possible while also handling a fair amount of takeout orders. Their menu doesn't lack for options, and I had a hard time myself choosing between many delicious sounding meals. I ended up going with the San Antonio skillet and it was loaded with chorizo and bacon. Normally I can finish my meal and then some but this skillet was well more than enough to make me full. All of our portions were a great value and I'll be sure to come back and try the other dishes that caught my eye! read more

Nice lazy morning brunch start here. Love the foods and and general vibe. The only thing is that the dessert is too sweet.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, surprisingly quiet for a Monday morning in downtown Chicago. I ordered a combo, a "smaller portion" of the lemon poppyseed pancakes with eggs and bacon. I can't imagine the size of a full size order, and I was surprised by the 4 slices of bacon with the combo. read more

Huge menu with plenty to offer. I had oat milk and a healthy scrambler. The in-house jam for your bread is delicious. The restaurant was full, yet we only waited 5 minutes and had prompt service throughout our meal. read more

Horrible customer service! I've been trying to get a copy of a receipt for weeks and the team continues to place me on hold for over 30 minutes. When I asked for the best time to call, the person told me to call at 2p which is when the restaurant closes. Based on the expensive prices, I would expect the food and customer service to be better. Apparently Nicole Passeralla is the manager who likes to avoid management duties, including simple customer service. Also the parking is HORRIBLE!!! I recommend finding a better restaurant to eat breakfast. read more

We were in town visiting for a basketball tournament. We had breakfast here 2 days in a row. The service was wonderful, timely, food excellent, and great atmosphere. Our server, Elizabeth, was one of the best servers I've had! She was kind, outgoing, quick to help and answer our questions, and so genuine! We would come back many more times in the future... for the food and service by Elizabeth! Thank you for the experience here and so blessed to see this team of employees working together to set the bar in restaurant service. read more

Egg Harbor has the golden combination of stellar service and outstanding food. They have a system where the servers all work together to keep patrons happy and then share tips. We didn't realize this the first time we went. There is usually a wait so you may want to check in before arriving. read more

The place was cute and had a good vibe. There was indoor and outdoor seating. I sat inside with my friend. We were seated immediately, but later there was a line to be seated. We didn't seem to have one designated server. This lead to some errors in service. There was a timely wait from being served drinks until they took our order. My friend order a Chai Tea Latte which was stunning. Then they delivered a drink we did not order to the table. Once we placed our order the food came out in a decent time. I received my Joe's Healthy Scrambler and my friend was given something she did not order. Once we pointed this out they swapped it for the correct item, biscuits and gray. We were ready to eat, however we realized there were no utensils. I got up and retrieved some. We began eating and the foods flavor was the best part of the meal. There were some inconsistencies through out the items we selected. Overall the food was good but with the rough service and high prices, I would not choose to eat here again. read more

Spent the weekend in Chicago to celebrate my birthday and went to Egg Harbor Cafe for one of the days there. We enjoyed the atmosphere and great service at Egg Harbor. The food was pretty good but could have used a bit more seasoning on the eggs. I really enjoyed my waffles though! Overall we enjoyed brunch and would come again! read more

Super delicious! They sat us down very quickly and tended to us despite being short staffed. The food was delicious and had lots of flavor.

Food was good. Staff was nice. Pretty easy to get in and get a seat. Definitely worth trying!

I was very disappointed in this restaurant. We were visiting Chicago and walked by on a late Saturday morning. The wait was two hours so we left, but we went back on a Monday when there wasn't a wait. Can not imagine why people waited in line for this place. The menu had all obvious breakfast choices but the service was terrible and the food was nothing great. The English muffin was not toasted well, the Food was cold after we waited close to 25 minutes to be served. Avo toast was a joke as there was barely any avocado. Eggs were not seasoned and the whole experience was Just typical breakfast food made very poorly with bad service to boot.
