What went well??? Umm everything!!! The food was good, location is off the strip so parking is easy and free, huge menu, electric train the circles the track above head adds a nice touch and fun to look at. But the thing that made it....and I mean really over the top was the server Daniella. She was on it! She brought waters with lemons on the side immediately without us asking (just in case we wanted them). She brought multiple creamers for the coffee so you didn't have to ask. She brought banana muffins to hold us over till the food came, she brought sauce samples and chili samples to make sure we would like our food (without us asking), she wasn't afraid to tell us if something was her favorite or make suggestions. It seemed like we didn't have to ask for anything, she just knew! Friendly and good at her job. She was very responsive to my brother's allergy to gluten and didn't seem bothered in the least by questions asked about menu items. She communicated with the kitchen and made sure he was accommodated. It was really appreciated. Plus I ordered the California Benny (was ok but would get something else next time as the bread got soggy too quick) and when a gentleman brought it to me he sang "California knows how to Benny" (iykyk).....I LOVED that wish I knew his name so I could give him credit, but unfortunately I don't. I recently moved to the area last October and was excited to try this restaurant after it was recommended to me. Unfortunately, my experience celebrating my 50th birthday here was extremely disappointing. When I ordered a mimosa, I was asked for ID. I had unfortunately misplaced it, and while I understand the policy, the way it was handled came across as rude and condescending rather than professional. It completely shifted the mood at our table. I lost my appetite, chose not to order anything, and the overall experience became uncomfortable enough that even my friend's daughter decided to leave and not eat. What made the situation more frustrating was the inconsistency. A gentleman at a nearby table mentioned he is never asked for ID and was openly being served mimosas. He even went as far as ordering one for me and disguising it in a water glass to avoid staff noticing. It was clear he was being overserved without question, while our table was treated very differently. I respect policies, but consistency and respectful service matter. Sadly, this experience turned what should have been a special birthday celebration into a negative one. As a recent local, I'll take my money and my tendency to generously tip somewhere more professional. read more

Everything we got were all pretty tasty and big portions. The steak was suppose to be cooked medium rare but ended up more well, luckily it was tender so it was still tasty. My friend and I had lunch at the Egg & I a few weeks ago. It was my first time eating at the restaurant. It's a typical casual diner located in a shopping strip. Parking wasn't an issue on a Thursday afternoon though I noticed a sign on the door stating that your entire party must be present before you will be seated so I guess it gets busy on the weekends. Our server Evelyn was very nice and attentive. She made good suggestions and answered our questions (the menu is pretty extensive). I noticed a lot of the breakfast entrées had Habla Diablo seasoning which concerned me because I don't love spicy food, but she reassured me that the seasoning is not spicy at all. I started with regular coffee. Evelyn offered flavored creamer options but I kept it basic. I appreciated that she set the coffee pot on the table so I could top off my mug whenever I needed. For my entrée, I went with the Bacon and Onion Skillet. The potatoes come with the Habla Diablo seasoning. Evelyn told me I could order light seasoning, and I'm glad I did. The seasoning is very flavorful, but it is salty (and not spicy at all). If I had done regular seasoning, it would have been too salty for my palette. I opted for scrambled eggs with a side of sourdough toast. It was so tasty, but the portion was huge! I could only eat about half of it. Evelyn brought over to go boxes and gave me a cup of fresh coffee to go, which was so nice. As much as I wanted to bring the leftovers with me, I was on my way to the airport so I didn't take them. On my most recent trip to Vegas, my last meal in town was at Egg & I for lunch on a Thursday morning. Located off The Strip, this breakfast spot is located in a shopping center with several other businesses and there's plenty of free parking. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill breakfast spot with a twist. They have a train that makes its way around the inside of the restaurant (close to the ceiling). Choo-choo! I'd say this was a first for me at a restaurant. I appreciated the creativity. We were seated at a booth which I always appreciate. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress did a good job taking care of us. What I appreciated most is that after I ordered, she offered me another option that would give me a lot more food for a small surcharge. Definitely worth it and something I wouldn't have know without her help because I didn't know I could make substitutions. A little tough to explain, but know that she was looking out for me. Drinks (N/A): I had an Arnold Palmer so not much to talk about here. They have your typical assortment of soft drinks, juices, coffee, and tea that you would expect at a breakfast joint. Food (3/5): I went with the stuffed French toast, scrambled eggs, and ham. I substituted waffles for French toast. Unfortunately, the French toast was below average. French toast is one of my favorite breakfast foods and this wasn't it. The bread was a bit lifeless and seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a bit. The scrambled eggs were a bit lifeless too. I expected more from a restaurant with the word "Egg" in the title. The ham was the best part of the meal which is telling you something. Not a bad meal by any means, but it didn't live up to the hype. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong dish or it was an off-night. It had been a while since I visited a brunch spot. We visit here regularly on our trips to Vegas. We found it off of yelp because it's a dog friendly restaurant with a huge side patio. Even after our dogs passed almost 2 years ago, we continue to dine here. It's a great local brunch place. The service is 10/10! Just really nice and welcoming. No matter when we come here, everyone is ALWAYS friendly! The prices are decent and the food is great!!! This last visit, my daughter and I split a spinach, bacon benedict and canoli French toast. Expect it's to be busy on a weekend and also expect parking to be tough too!! It's worth it though! The food is consistent with flavor, and they do their best to get the food out quickly. Service is friendly as well, from the hostess to the servers and expeditors. They are all working together to get as many people through as possible...without rushing the tables or making you feel like you have to hurry to leave! It's a pretty packed place inside, the patio allows for a little bit more open space, it's covered but you're in plastic folding chairs - which aren't uncomfortable! While in Vegas, we wanted to try a new breakfast place off the Strip. The Egg & I looked like it had excellent reviews, but for us, it was a bit disappointing. While the food wasn't bad, it was just meh. Located in a quiet parking lot, parking was relatively easy. Service was a bright spot in our meal as well as the interior décor. Loved the train running on the tracks over the restaurant. The menu was cute in the newspaper style. Food and drinks were lackluster. Coffee was flavorless and just wasn't good at all The food just felt like they had two seasonings, salt and their diablo seasoning. It's either overly salty or overly salty with the diablo seasoning Corned beef was lifeless. For housemade food, I had bigger expectations for them. Being served in the skillet, I was hoping they would be crispy on the outside, moist and tasty on the inside. It was all too mushy for my liking. It just felt like I was eating mashed potatoes, with a side of potatoes to go with my plate. I wish we could have substituted the side of potatoes without the additional charge for fruit. The banana muffin just didn't look appealing. I don't know if I was expecting something like the banana bread, but this wasn't it. While crispy on the outside, the inside was just dry. Benedict was again, just all saltiness from the ham. I couldn't decide between two of their most popular dishes but saw both on the value menu which is half of a typical portion. That was the perfect opportunity to try both. I got the Country Fried Steak Skillet, over easy eggs, with the Habla Diablo Seasoned Potatoes and the Stuffed French Toast with Ham and subbed Hash Browns. The Country Fried Steak dish was a 10/10. I don't always like gravy but theirs was exceptional. The Habla Diablo potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Honestly, the Stuffed French Toast was good but nothing special. I don't eat breakfast very often, but when I'm visiting with family in Las Vegas it tends to happen. It was a Sunday morning when we visited Egg & I for the first time last month, and for a place I've driven by a thousand times, it was much bigger inside then I was expecting. The menu here had everything you could want out of a breakfast spot from Ham, Pancakes, and Eggs to Sausage, Bacon, and Waffles. I was feeling pretty hungry at the time so I decided to order the Chocolate Chip Pancakes with a side order of Ham. The Chocolate Chip Pancakes were pretty huge and bigger than the actual plate. They were fluffy, had a decent amount of chocolate chips in them, and tasted pretty dang good. The ham on the side was also pretty good, though as standard as you get for breakfast Ham. Overall, Egg & I was a wonderful breakfast experience and definitely a place I would revisit in the future when visiting Las Vegas. This place is a must for breakfast every time we are in Vegas. We've been coming here for years and one of the great things about it place is consistency, which seems difficult to find these days. The food is delicious every time and the service is fast and friendly. Paula was our server the most recent time and she was kind and friendly. I'm vegetarian and I always get the Sundance Omelette, but I get it without the Swiss cheese so it's lighter. These dishes here will keep you full for a long time. read more

Even for people like me who don't normally eat muffins and things but this had it all! I love the softness of the muffins and how the nuts were kind of soft. I got steak and eggs. The best part is there diablo potatoes YUMMMY! I need the recipe. The girls got waffles with fruit and i the chicken fried steak! That was good as well! These cakes had a good flavor without being overpowering, and were a good size, which she as usual, could not finish. I had the Smoky Chipotle Pork Benedict, with Habla Diabla potatoes. The Benedict was flavorful and spicy without being too pica, while the potatoes with the seasoning were flavorful. I normally don't like that cut of potatoes, as they appeared to be frozen. However, the preparation was so well done as to allow me to overlook that aspect. They were crunchy, yet fluffy inside, which has never been my experience. Excellent chef skills! Check in on Yelp and you'll get a banana nut muffin, add butter (thanks for the tip Serenity) When you want eggs and French toast without increasing your waistline, the half stuffed French toast is the way to go. Add some of the green or red hot sauce for a kick to your hump. The half omelet (2 instead of 4 eggs) was quite filling with the crispy season potatoes and toast. Finally a restaurant that has a changing table in the men's bathroom (the little things)!
