01/06/2026 - Parmesan Truffle Fries $12
Teri C.

Salt & Spoon has always intrigued with their continuously high ratings since they opened. I finally got a chance to sample their menu and can see why they are getting all this love. First off, the interior is really simple which can throw you off as the menu is a bit fancier than one would expect. We went on a Tuesday, so it was a bit quiet with only one other party dining there when we walked in. We were greeted immediately and had our choice of seats. * Parmesan Truffle Fries $12 - We got the larger order (small order is $6) and shared it. You definitely get that truffle oil and the parmesan is nicely shaved over it. * Asian Chicken Salad $18 - It's been a long time since I had an Asian Chicken Salad and it did not disappoint. Loaded with wonton strips on top, it was fresh and filling. * Miso Salmon Salt & Spoon Bowl $23 - My friend got this dish as he initially saw it when he was searching for restaurants to eat at. The salmon portion was super generous and looked amazingly moist. He said it was great and would definitely get it again. And it sat on what he described as a fried brown rice, which he also liked. It looks like their menu changes for the weekend as they are not open for dinner then. So it's more of a brunch menu on the weekends. I was curious about their Mushroom Risotto but did not see it on their current menu. Service was top notch. The only server working checked on us so many times, pretty much every time she passed by she had her eye on us. And it wasn't annoying either, she made it comfortable and not intrusive. As she was about to serve the other table their dessert, she made a point of showing it to us as a way to entice us. Very smart and it almost worked! Overall, it's elevated food and service in a casual environment. There's honestly nothing really bad to write about here. Perhaps the prices may seem a bit high when you see the interior, but the food quality and service reflects it.

Starving and looking to try something new so we decided to try salt and spoon. Forgot to take a picture of before but I think after will give you a better understanding. Mushroom soup gnocchi with short rib and cheddar biscuit All 10/10 Great service too!

Based on the ratings, I'm actually really surprised with our experience at Salt & Spoon. First, I want to start out with what was great. And that was the direct customer service. Our waitress was new and training but was super attentive and friendly, and the man at the counter who also waited on us was also very nice. Between the two of them, we felt like they were always there to check in on us, but not in an overbearing way. They were prompt to grab items we needed (like new utensils when some fell on the floor), and they were also fair when there was a menu discrepancy on the kids menu about drinks (btw, the restaurant owner should remove the wording about the drinks being included with the kids menu items if that has officially changed). Aside from that, everything else was pretty poor. The food itself was just not good, especially for the price. I got the Asian chicken salad, and for almost $20, I felt like it was so below average. The chicken itself was tough and actually unpleasant to eat. The only reason I finished it was because I hate wasting food and was starving and pregnant. I think the only thing I actually enjoyed in the salad were the mandarin oranges. My husband thought his Caesar salad was also below average. I guess we have to keep in mind that he has often made his own Caesar dressing and salads at home from scratch with high-quality ingredients, so his standards are pretty high. But again, for that price, it definitely was not worth it. The kids' breakfast platter was not that great either. The bacon was overcooked and hard. The toast was a bit hard too, but that could've just been it being sourdough. My daughter usually loves eggs, but she was not a fan of the ones here. The one thing they both enjoyed that was good was the strawberry jam. All-in-all, I left the restaurant feeling really underwhelmed with the food and wishing we'd gone somewhere else. The other big issue was the wait time. For similar orders (and even more complex orders) in other restaurants, it has taken a fraction of the wait time. We had planned for one hour to eat, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for two basic salads and a simple kids breakfast platter. The place wasn't that busy, so maybe they were understaffed? Either way, for that wait time, you'd simply expect better food at the very least. As far as the restaurant itself, it's not what I expected, but it was okay. The decor is very basic and plain and didn't seem like much thought was put into the look and feel. But it was definitely clean, and the waitress and other staff did an excellent job making sure to keep the tables tidy. All of that being said, I don't plan to come here again. The only reason I'd have to come here again is the really nice staff. But that's it. Unfortunately, a restaurant requires more than that for me to be willing to spend money there.

The spread.

It's good but not great. I'm biased when it comes to à la carte food. Small place and when it's full expect to wait. The burger was tasty and so was the steak. Nice to support local.

Very good food with a lot of flavor. Service could have been better and more attentive but in general it was a positive experience. Portions are very large. Seating was ok too but I prefer more comfortable and softer chairs. I'd come back to try something else because you can tell that their food is prepared with a lot of thought and fresh and good ingredients. I also like that they serve special brunch items on weekends.

we came on a Saturday for lunch. We waited 20 min for our food to come out which was crazy bc it was only our table and another table there. At least the salad could've came out first. We ordered the peach, burrata and tomato salad: I felt like the chef was trying to be creative but the flavors did not mix well together. The bulgogi fries: the fries were crispy and hot but the portion of bulgogi was too small and bulgogi itself was missing flavor. The only flavor I could taste was the burnt of the meat. The salt and spoon bowl: the salmon was hot and juicy and flavorful but the rice was a bit on the salty side. Service was good. Everyone was so friendly.

Finally tried this place! We went around brunch time and it was still pretty chill. About an hour later it picked up around lunch time. The server was really warm and kind and gave us suggestions on what to order. We got the popular miso salmon glazed bowl, salt and spoon burger and the breakfast burrito. The miso salmon tasted fresh and honestly tasted healthy. The grains it came with had a slight char which tasted so good with the salmon. The burger's bacon jam was sooo goood and the patty was super soft. We ordered truffle fries with it and it was not overbearingly truffle.

We had brunch here and it was an excellent dining experience. The servers are very pleasant and accommodating in spite of being busy. The food may take time but once you have your first bite you'll know that everything is made as you order and with fresh ingredients. The place is small but offers a warm ambiance.

Salt & Spoon Omelette, Brisket Hash

Yummy brunch spot in southwest area. Small restaurant with a cute casual interior. Coffee options here are iced coffee or small French Press and also Peach Iced Tea. They have a separate weekend brunch menu with great options like Steak & Eggs, Croque Madame, Breakfast Burrito and veggie option like Vegetarian Omelette. Service was great with a friendly waitress on a Saturday July morning. Food: - Salt & Spoon Omelette - nice blend of veggie omelette with bacon and freshly shaved chz - Brisket Hash - filling with giant heaping of marinara tomato sauce

Stopped for a quick bite and ordered a salmon rice bowl and salad. Very simple dishes and did the job. I wish there were more vegetables and components in the meal itself. The salad was small too and hardly could be shared. I got an ice cream for dessert and it was a small scoop of very sweet strawberry that I would compare to the grocery store kind. Wished for more!

I've been to Salt & Spoon a few times now but never got around to leaving a review, figured it was time lol. This time I ordered through DoorDash and picked it up. I got the breakfast plate and the steak & eggs. Everything was so good! The steak was cooked just right and the chimichurri sauce on top? Fire. The hard scrambled eggs came out perfect, not dry or rubbery. The chimichurri potatoes were crazy good! I could honestly eat a whole bowl of those. Bacon and muffin were also on point. It was busy when I walked in (it's Sunday so of course everyone's out eating), but my food was still ready in a decent amount of time which I really appreciated. Also, the girl at the counter was super nice and friendly, good vibes all around. Portions are a little on the smaller side but the flavor makes up for it. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

We're visiting from San Diego, Seattle and Charlotte and came across this place through Yelp. What a wonderful experience! Inside is simple but very comfortable and welcoming. The lunch menu is simple with various dishes to choose from. The food is very good and the service from Amanda Ko was amazing and welcoming. The portions are very generous. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

The menu items I ordered! Clockwise - miso salmon bowl, shrimp scampi pasta, and grilled cheese with tomato bisque soup.

Updating my review as I hadn't been in here such a long time until just yesterday. I remember this place as an eatery where everything was good. Unfortunately, I ordered the pesto pasta and it was so bad, in my opinion. They really need to change this recipe or remove it altogether. It was a challenge to swallow each bite....so saturated in pesto (the entire pasta just tasted like pesto, as if you're just eating spoonfuls of it) and it was so salty. The pesto was just way too overwhelming. I would not recommend this dish. I was so bummed and disappointed. I ended up throwing away the leftovers. See pics!
