First negative experience at a Lazy Dog. The food was edible, overpriced. 15 cheese curds for what- $12? The "crunchy" healthy bowl (or whatever it was called) was only "crunchy" because of the overbaked chickpeas. (I would know they are overbaked because I have screwed up baking them before). The waitress was the kindest but the kitchen staff were slow and the manager + cooks don't know what "medium well" is; the manager claims a burger that looks medium rare is their version of "medium well." It shouldn't take 30 min to cook a burger, period. 70% of the patio seats were filled and only about half of the interior seats were filled. It seemed "regular busy" for lunch time. Regardless, 30 minutes is a long time to wait for cold fries and a medium rare burger. The manager kept interrupting me while I was trying to inform her it took 30 min to receive the medium rare burger and we would like to ask for the replacement to be boxed to go, especially if it takes another 30 min. She just talked over me, not giving the time and courtesy of allowing me (the customer) to request anything. Again - the waitress was kind and did her job. I blame the kitchen staff and the manager for our negative experience. I didn't get the manager's name, as she did not introduce herself. She seemed to have only one motive to speak to us: to defend the way the burger was cooked and to move on to the next customer. Haven't been to Lazy Dog in awhile and this was my first time there for happy hour. The menu is still just as good as it was before with some new items. From happy hour we ordered the Cajun fries which seemed never ending as the portion is huge, then the chicken lettuce wraps, and the edamame which are always amazing then I also got a new menu item, burrata cheese + spring greens rigatoni which was really good except after I realized that they forgot to add the two Parmesan crackers as pictured. This was my daughter and I's first visit and we were excited to try their food. We found the menu quite varied, with items ranging from healthy to not so healthy selections, so I opted for the healthy "Protein Crunch Bowl" with salmon, and I also ordered a side of whole grain bread as an accompaniment to increase the fiber. My daughter opted for a lettuce wrapped burger and fries. Here is what we discovered: My daughter's burger was cooked perfectly, and the ranch dressing she ordered appeared to be made fresh, in-house. Unfortunately, the fries were batter-coated and she could not eat them due to the gluten content. She was happy with the meal, however, and learned from her mistake, so she'll order a different side next time. My salad was perfectly sized; in fact, I was unable to eat the entire thing, so I focused on the proteins. I was a bit disappointed in the salmon as it was extremely dry and over cooked. Aside from that misstep, the flavor and freshness of the other ingredients made up for the dry salmon. The bread was AMAZING! Loved the flavor of the whole grains and I meant to ask if it was baked in house or purchased. I'd love to know the brand of bread they use if it's not baked in house, cause it was really good. Our service was quite slow, but it was Friday in Vegas and the place was hopping. Next time we'll pick a weekday to see if service improves. Service: we waited about 30 mins for our table, they sat us in the bartop which was more than fine. They were busy so our drinks and food took some time. One of our buddies food was left behind, when we asked about his food, they followed up promptly and got his food right away. Ambiance: the place looks like a cabin inside the indoor area. Plenty of space for a lot of people. Theres outdoor seating which is covered and where a lot of people like to bring their dogs which this place is VERY pet friendly. food: i got the deal for $15 a entree and a dessert. Extra scoop of ice cream is $4 bucks for a bread budding. I did not like the bread pudding so i wont look forward to that next time. The vanilla cream was WAY better. My entree i choose was the bbq bacon burger with a side of slaw. The burger was decent size even though were pretty hungry. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar was a great choice for group dining. We came here with my husband's team, and it worked really well for a larger group. The space is nicely spread out, so we never felt cramped and had plenty of room to relax and talk. Service was great--attentive and organized, especially considering the size of our party. My entrée was pretty tasty, which is always a win at a group dinner where food can sometimes feel secondary. We also tried a couple of desserts, and they were massive. The outside is cutely decorated with the dog motif I like so much. I like Lazy Dog. The menu is fun, with plenty of options, but not so many that you get too overwhelmed. The portion sizes are perfect for the pricing. The quality of the food is pretty darn good as well. The restaurant is large, with a seating area outside where you are encouraged to bring your dog. This place is pretty darn clean, including the bathrooms. You can see into the kitchen and see the cleanliness as well. Service was pretty good. It was pretty busy for a Sunday at 4:00pm, but I'm assuming it was because tourist go to Town Square before heading to the airport. I try to give the staff grace when it is busy, but we had issues from the start. The woman who sat us said they were out of high chairs when ee requested two. Looking around the restaurant, only two other tables had high chairs (so according to her, the restaurant only had two high chairs.) However, we hunted down two high chairs from another staff member for the two babies in our party. Absolutely unacceptable. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, and when we did, one of our plates had a hair and some of our dishes were lukewarm. The waitress was quick about replacing the plate that had the hair and we didn't bother complaining about the temperature of our food, fearing we would have to wait a long time for replacements. I do have to give points to our waitress who did get the kids food out very quickly, know that when babies are hungry, they need to eat NOW. Overall, it was a sub par experience. As a local, I would rather go to the location on Stephanie Street in Henderson. Our waitress was wonderful and warm and she was doing her best. We did tip her well. read more

For dinner we shared a three part small plate sampler ($24) and the seared ahi tuna salad($22). Too much food for the three of us to finish. The ahi tuna salad and the Brussel sprouts were my favorites. Patio dining can get a bit noisy when a plane landing at Reid Airport is coming in (a not infrequent event). I recently had the opportunity to visit The Lazy Dog for the first time on Friday May 22nd. It was a work lunch and Courtney was our server. It was such a refreshing experience. She funny, warm and very welcoming. She even picked my co-workers meal and he absolutely loved the meal that she picked for him. She also told us that we would receive free glasses as well as an eight pack of beer in which I thought she was just pulling our leg. She was actually serious. We came here for lunch on a Monday. It wasn't super packed or sparse. We were seated immediately and sat out on the patio. It was kinda chilly out, but we had the big fire pit in the middle to warm us up. It was also fun to see people out and about with their dogs and enjoying. While we didn't have any dogs with us, it was nice to see people lounging around with their dogs (and the ability or order items for their dogs from a specific dog menu). There were quite a few items listed and it was a bit hard to choose what lunch option to order. We ended up getting the Blackened Chicken Burrito Bowl, Korean Ribeye Bibimbap Bowl and edamame, and the Chili Crunch Ahi Tuna Bowl. We received our orders almost immediately and they were pretty generous portions and pretty tasty too! The Chili Crunch Ahi Tuna had furikake and rice, the tuna was tender and easy to chew, and there was also some edamame sprinkled into the dish, cucumber, and pickled ginger. For the Blackened Chicken Burrito Bowl the guac, cabbage, hatch chiles, cheese, salsa, chicken and corn were the perfect combination of flavors for this dish. The Korean Ribeye Bibimbap Bowl was served on a tiny cast iron pot and had shaved ribeye, rice, carrots, pickled cucumbers, bean sprouts, spinach, sesame seeds, and sunny side up egg. The edamame that came out on the side was also pretty tasty. All in all, great lunch spot and the wait staff was pretty efficient and helpful when it came to our orders.
