I would give it 6 stars if I could. My family of five came in at 11:42am. We had an appointment that was a 3 minute walk away at 12:15pm. We were greeted and I explained the scenario and asked if it were doable. The server/hostess explained how long each type of thing took to cook, and also what shortcuts could be made (a pasty takes 18-20 minutes in the oven but if cut in half it takes 10-11). We decided to go for it and she sat us and quickly took our order. We ordered: 2 pasties Scotch egg Bread and butter Broccoli cauliflower cheese bake Food all came out fresh, hot, and in a timely manner. She was super on top of it, making sure we made it out with time to spare. I have frequented the OG arts district location and loved it! Cornish Pasty in DTLV has been my favorite bar since moving to Vegas. During a trip further south, we thought we'd pop in and see how Boulder City's compares! We were met with a significantly smaller, more eatery-focused establishment. They offer outdoor tables as well. You can tell off the bat this location's vibe is much less rowdy and very family-appropriate. Not complaining. They only offer one pool table, and I didn't see a dart board. Many years ago, I went to the one located in the Commercial Center which is now in the Arts District. I was in Boulder City last night, saw this location and had to try this location and it was amazing. First off we had Alexis as our server and she was awesome. The place was really busy and I did not know Mondays at 7:30 they have trivia night!!!! So needless to say by 7:30 it was packed with people playing and eating. Even though it was packed, Alexis never missed a beat. She took our order, always made sure our drinks were full and kept checking to make sure we were ok. Alexis was one of the best servers I've had. I would drive back to Boulder City just to hang out with Alexis and enjoy some more amazing food. They were out of the Guinness Stew which was really sad. We started with the Beet Salad and the chips. The Beets were so fresh and the dressing on the salad was so good. The chips, fresh garlic strong enough to keep all vampires away. They were so good with the garlic and cheese. Then we had the Reuben pasty and the Chicken Pot Pie Pasty. The corned beef in the Reuben was seasoned to perfection and tasted so amazing. The Chicken Pot Pie was the best tasting pot pie I've had in a long time and I've had pot pie in other restaurants within the past 30 days. The taste of this Chicken Pot Pie blew the others away. Next was the Roasted Chicken, it was very tasty but had to come home because we needed room for the Chocolate Bread pudding which was light, not sugary and oh so good. The place looks like a British pub and is really comfortable with some great ambiance. They have a pool table as well. I highly recommend Cornish Pasty. I love Cornish Pasty, and was excited to learn that they had a location in Boulder City! My friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday night around 730pm. It wasn't very busy. They had indoor and outdoor seating and we decided to dine outdoors. Our waitress was nice. I ordered the chicken tikka masala pasty. The pasties were baked perfectly, piping hot, and full of flavor. We enjoyed it so much that we quickly brought more friends for a second visit. Was happy to find vegan options in Boulder City after much searching! My partner tried the vegan carne adovada -- it was wayyy too spicy for her, and the breading didn't really balance out the heat. She couldn't finish it. Bummed! I went lighter with the beet salad (made it vegan by skipping the feta) even though it's listed as solely vegetarian. It was good but nothing special as it needed some kind of topping like plant based crumble/crouton/romaine. Still, I give them huge credit for offering plant-based and healthier options in an area where that's rare. So good to see. Just would want more transparency/diversity on the menu to know what's spicy or can be made vegan to actually enjoy our food. Don't plan on eating here honestly. A perfect way to enjoy lunch today. We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed a lovely cooling breeze. I had the Oggie and it was fabulous, I paired if with French fries that were lightly seasoned and delicious, I had to get a to go box as I couldn't eat it all. I had Hibiscus iced tea that could not have been better, it tasted great and it was neither very sweet nor too syrupy! My wife and I shared a dessert, chocolate bread pudding in brandy, with vanilla ice cream. It was a massive portion and full of flavour. We were coming from the Veterans Cemetery (about 7 minutes away) and wanted to find somewhere close to grab a bite. It was Mother's Day and we knew many places in Henderson would be crowded so we opted to look for somewhere in Boulder City that wouldn't be too crowded. We looked on Yelp for reviews around the area and found Cornish Pasty. We decided to give it a try. To our pleasant surprise, it was AMAZING!!! The fries were great, the pasties were FANTASTIC and the service was most EXCELLENT! I also enjoyed the fact that they have a separate vegetarian/vegan section on the menu. I ordered the cheese and onion pasty and OMG, the most delicious tasting pasty I have ever had! It also came with a dipping sauce but I loved it without it. My hubby got the vegan oggie, he liked mine more than his. Everyone else had something off the regular menu and really enjoyed theirs. The icing on the cake was dessert. We all had our own Sticky Toffee Pudding....this was by far the BEST thing on the menu!!! We will definitely be back, we elected this place our go to spot in Boulder City. Recently moving away from Michigan, I did not expect to find pasties in Nevada. A small chain no less! Looking at the menu - this place has some very creative, experimental flavors that a pasty shop in the UP would never dream of baking. With experimentation comes risk - could these pasties actually be good? Note: I am not a fan of the traditional pasty. Carne Adovada ($18.50) - I'm not sure I would call this a pasty, given that the kneaded handle isn't on the side of the pasty in this case. Perhaps this is more of a baked empanada? In any case, the crust is superb. It's very even in thickness, with a thin and flaky baked crisp. Great texture and flavor, with the egg wash on top providing a pleasing color and glossiness. The inside is filled with Mexican rice on the bottom, tender but not mushy at all, braised pork, soft and not stringy nor dry, tomato, hatch chile, and plenty of stretchy cheese. The chile gives a very mild spice to the dish. The flavor overall is a little spicy, tangy, salty and savory. The texture of everything is very similar - tender - making the only textural contrast the outer shell. I think the filling is a little on the watery side, with the juices spilling out onto the plate and I don't think it could actually be eaten in the hand like a normal pasty, especially as the crust edge is braided to be on the center of the top. It's thin so it doesn't get too doughy. The pasty as a whole is more than double the price of any pasty in Michigan, and seems to be a little smaller. Still, it's plenty tasty and the crust is excellent. Traditional pasties are made for sustenance, whereas the pasties served at Cornish Pasty Co are made for eating. (4/5) Scotch Egg ($8.50) - According to the menu, this is a softboiled egg encased in sage sausage and rolled in breadcrumbs. Instead, the egg yolk is almost completely set, and the sausage is completely dried out. There is a thick layer of breading on the exterior that's fried to make a crunchy crust. But the sausage is dry, lean, and spongy in texture. It's uniformly grey in color, perhaps an indication of the absence of spices. The taste is very bland too, like only unsalted pork with egg flavor. There's a reason they serve the dish with a cup of honey mustard. It's desperately needed to add some semblance of flavor and moisture to the dish. The scotch egg is sprinkled with paprika that does nothing but add color. The preparation of this dish is why people make fun of British cuisine. (2/5) I'm placing a little more emphasis on the pasty over the Scotch Egg (since it's an app), making my rating a 4/5 instead of a 3/5. Enough for a lighter appetite but we didn't have one of those! Kept on with the Bit o' salmon pasty for me and the Reuben pasty for him.
