We love Jacks, it's our go-to when we decide to go out. Tonight something went wrong. The potato skins were one of the worst things I've ever been served. The potatoes were raw, they had been microwaved (or they tasted like it) and had zero seasoning. Not even salt or pepper. Inedible. And we had to wait a long time for the food to come up - and the waitress forgot our drinks order so we had to chase it up. It was like being somewhere else. Not Jacks, it was unrecognizable. When Panda Express does better, it's time to shape up. read more

We originally ended up at Jack's Place after the hostess at Boulder Dam Brewing stopped seating guests, despite several open tables. What started as a change of plans turned out to be a blessing in disguise--we received some of the best service in Boulder City and enjoyed fantastic wings alongside our burgers and beers. The atmosphere at Jack's Place is inviting, with sports memorabilia lining the walls, adding to the charm. We stopped at Jack's Place for a quick bite and a beer during a weekend staycation in Boulder City. The bartender was friendly and quick. We ordered the Queso Con Carne dip which was pretty good. A live band was playing, although the music wasn't to our liking it was clearly enjoyable for some folks. We had dinner at Jack's Place yesterday and overall, it was a good experience. I had the crispy fish tacos and my wife went with the bratwurst. Both meals hit the spot -- the tacos were tasty and came with chips and salsa. The salsa was decent, but the chips were a little on the bland side. What really stood out was our waitress -- she was fantastic. Super attentive without hovering or being annoying, which is harder to find than it should be. The vibe inside was nice too. They were playing music we actually recognized (none of that modern pop noise), and the volume was just right -- enough to enjoy, not so loud you have to yell over it. The place looked clean, had big front windows perfect for people-watching, and it's right on the main drag so there's plenty going on outside. We were torn between giving it a 3 or 4. If Yelp allowed half-stars, this would be a solid 3.5. But since it doesn't, we'll go with a friendly 3. We'd definitely eat here again. read more

After a hike from Lake Mead to the Hoover Dam, we stopped in the historic downtown prior to heading back to Vegas. It was New Years Day and the place was definitely hoppin! The servers were sweet and kind. They did their best and I could not be more grateful. We ordered a couple of small bites: 1. Potato Skins: delicious and crispy. We opted for no sour cream, but it was still yummy. The only thing is that it had a bit too much cheese, but overall was able to take some of it off. 2. Corn Cob Bites: the seasoning on this was phenomenal. It was pretty spot on with a chile and lime flavor. The ranch on the side was a delicious pairing 3. Chili Cheese Fries: these weren't on the menu, but they still have them. The fries are nice and thin and crispy. The chili taste home made and the cheese was the perfect pull. Overall this bar is such a great stop whether you are heading into town or heading out. read more

First time here, Friday about 6 pm. Live music on weekends! The ambiance here is pretty cool, BC laid back smaller sports bar that does live music. Very friendly staff that is always hustling,never saw one on a cell phone! I know unusual right! Lots of smiles and very polite too! Food is pretty typical sports bar offering but all very good! The only negative is that the music was so loud you cannot hold any conversation! They open up the nano walls on good weather evenings and there is great patio seating! read more

Went to Jack's for my buddy's dad's birthday. Place is very loud at night with the live band so decided to sit outside. Staff were incredibly nice and the food was great. Had their special, mahi mahi tacos. The tacos were good, smaller pieces, and the chips were great wish you received a larger cup of salsa for the amount of chips that are given. read more

Bartender AND patrons were rude to me while here. It seems if you're not apart of the small community here, and look like a city girl, they won't treat you well or give you a standard pour. My gin and soda had less than a shot of gin in it and the bartender was giving me a dirty look as she took my order. Very odd experience. read more

Great atmosphere in this little town. The waitress took her time to explain the menu and chat with us. Service was super friendly and fast. Food were all great and came with large amount of "Perfect fries". ( Freshly made crispy and not salty) My son said this is the best chili dog he has ever had. Fish and chips doesn't look like a lot but for sure will fill you up. The fried fish was fresh steaming hot and served with well balanced herbed Horseradish sauce. Swiss cheese and mushroom hamburger was moist and flavorful with their homemade sauce wiped on the grilled burger buns. I love getting away from the chaos of vegas and venturing out to Boulder City. I made my first trip to Jack's Place and cannot wait to go back!! Jack's had live entertainment on a Tuesday night by a GREAT band! The evening also served as a celebration of life for Boulder City resident and legendary drummer Sandy Nelson. The owner of Jack's addressed the crowd to honor Sandy and share personal stories about their relationship. He even bought a drink for my friend who was celebrating her birthday. Decided to head to Boulder City for late breakfast, early lunch. The usual place at a 45 minute wait, so we wandered down the street. The weather was perfect and it would have been easy to keep walking and forget about eating. We walked past this place and looked inside. It was clean, bright and welcoming! The waitresses greeted us upon entering. We picked our own table in the back so we could look outside and take on the beautiful interior of this place. It's been there for 5 or 6 years now and honestly I never remembered seeing this place. We got our drinks right away and had apps and lunch. Cheese Curds and a shrimp basket. Generous portions and had great flavor. Our waitress was superb, attentive and friendly. We stayed for an hour and easily could have camped out there longer! Had to leave earlier than we wanted. There were a few tables outside so our next visit we'll sit out there. Boulder City is a very beautiful little town away from the Vegas lights. A few hundred yards down main street, it's a completely different environment! Clean, quiet, peaceful and green! With no gambling machines that stare at you while you eat, it's a refreshing change. They have a few nice antique stores to roam around through. Pretty quiet there on Sunday so I'd recommend a Saturday morning visit. read more

My friends & I were disgusted by her "professionalism" and this child should be fired immediately. She stated racist slurs at me & was rude. Ultimately, I had ordered an appetizer and she came to me stating that it's coming as a meal due to a mistake made by the kitchen. I said ok. As long as I'm not getting charged extra. She came back to say if I eat it, I buy it. I'm buying whatever I *ordered*. Next time, teach your servers basic mannerisms & respect. The ambiance and service is great, Jack's is definitely a cool place to hang out, especially for locals (I am one). I have lived in BC for nearly 6 years. Buttt.... I was craving fish and chips, based on reviews I stopped in for some. WTF!, they were definitely freezer to fryer as well as the fries. The fish portions were nothing more than wide fish sticks and not even as good as what the grocery store sells. I ate what I could but my craving was not the least bit satisfied. I went elsewhere and got much better fish and chips for about 4 bucks less down the road. Hopefully the rest of the menu is much better but a local establishment really needs to do better than serving food equal or even below what is expected from a fast food restaurant. Oddly enough is that when I sat down and ordered my food, I thought "why don't I come here more?" Then my food arrived and answered that question! Too bad, I really like supporting local businesses and really like their atmosphere, but friends don't let friends order the fish and chips here read more

What a great place to stop and eat. I sat Aaron The bar and the service was great. I ordered the pot pie. The crust was buttery and flak. The filLinng was hearty and has a nice creamy base with lots of chunks of chicken. We were watching the football game and when they sang the naTional anthem the entire place came to a halt.
