We stopped in after my husbands martial class. We were able to sit down. They had a bingo game going on and not much activity. I ordered the taco salad it was good but nothing exciting. It was served on a tortilla bowl and the meat had red jalapeno which made it hard to eat. This should have been mentioned that the chilis would be hot. Supposedly they have won this chicken wing challenge 9 years which says a lot since Johnny Mac's is not to far from here. Mr Hammer himself was around adjusting sound and fixing things before the game which you think you would see the staff do. The wings were actually pretty tasty. It's family-friendly with plenty of free parking, and the layout makes it easy to choose your vibe: there's a gaming section, a dedicated bar area, and a separate restaurant dining space. Real deal. Made me think of the bars with real food back in Illinois and Indiana. It's not the frou-frou fancy food like some bars carry locally. The place is noted for their award winning wings and they deliver on that statement. Wings were incredible with the Carolina bbq and the pork tenderloin sandwiches were old school hubcap sized plus let's talk the steak fries up! Made in house and lightly crispy and very tender inside. It was one of the best meals I've had. Atmosphere was buzzing but was quiet enough to hear the people seated with you. Our server Carrie was friendly and prompt to greet when we entered and told us to "sit anywhere". She was bustling around handling the all ready seated guests and made sure we knew she'd be right back to serve us. Highly recommend this establishment. The food is amazing. Hammers won wings of the year in Vegas in 2024 or 2025. They compete every year and are always rank on top. Now with that being said if you're looking for more of a traditions fried wing, this is different but still amazing. They're my wife's favorite wings. As a wing girly I was very excited to try their wings! Our sever was super sweet, fast, and was ontop of things the entire time. It was a Wednesday evening and the bar was pretty busy. We started with chips and queso and I don't usually love a white queso but this was amazing. The salsa and the queso were both awesome. I ordered the wings and got the raspberry chipotle bbq on them (a recommendation to me by someone else). The wings were good! They weren't the best I had ever had, the drumsticks were a little tough. Personally, I don't think the blackened cooking method is my style, but the sauce on them was good but felt I needed a little more. A sad day writing this review. We were once weekly regulars of Hammer's. We loved the food and bar staff. We looked forward to spending our Thursday evenings eating wings, carne asada fries and drinking cold beers. We moved from the area last year and hadn't been in a while. After dreaming of their wings for the last week we decided to make the drive to our old favorite neighborhood bar.. what a disappointment. The blackened, award winning wings are not what they used to be. They were once flavorful and cooked to perfection. Now they are burnt, not blackened and smothered in a weak flavored sauce. The carne asada fries came out completely cold with huge clumps of fatty cold meat. After one bite we pushed the fries to the side and waited for the bartender to come back.. they both looked at the discarded fries several times and never once asked anything. They were clearly avoiding the problem. We closed out and still nothing was asked about the full plate of untouched fries. After we paid we told them the fries were completely cold when we received them. We weren't looking for a freebie, but it would have been nice to receive some kind of customer service throughout the meal. Sadly, we won't be returning. Not sure what happened to this place. It went from our favorite local bar to one of the worst meals we've paid for. Disappointing. read more

Vegas can be such an amazingly diverse food town with local specialties from around the country. To test that, we found ourselves at Hammers Grill and Bar after searching around on social media for SOMEWHERE in Vegas that had an authentic Iowa Pork Tenderloin sandwich. Everyone kept pointing us there and so we had to venture out and give it a try! For context, Iowa is the home for pork tenderloin goodness (check out Smitty's if you're ever there or hey, just take a virtual tour in Des Moines on Yelp!) and if done right, they're juicy, fried and thin but BIG BIG BIG because that's part of the charm. They should be delicious but you should also feel like you're winning a contest with your very own Man Vs. Food challenge! Hammer's Grill and Bar is out at the edges of Henderson on the way toward Boulder City but off of Horizon. It's only about 5 mins off the freeway and was easy to locate. This charming sports bar is run by an ex-Hockey Player and if you're there for sports eyeballing (and especially the Knights), it's got multiple monitors to allow for great viewing and is very warm and accommodating. No issues bringing kids by the way. When we were there, our server was incredibly attentive and kind, and we were made to feel like we were at home. Awesome! But...how about the food? We had been looking for tenderloins in Vegas for a while and unfortunately, the one place we knew of that did a really good one (Hash House a Go Go) stopped serving them in their Vegas locations around the start of the pandemic. Weird! As for Hammer's...the presentation was an 11 out of 10- the visual effect of being served a piece of meat the size of your head made my mouth water before the plate touched the table. In practice however, the pork was pounded SO thin that it was literally razor thin inside the breading which made it crunchy for sure, but sort of dry. It wasn't bad per se, it just could have been better. That said, the onion rings were spectacular, the fried chicken sandwich that my wife had was out of this world, the venue is amazing, and I'm looking forward to go back. In summary, Hammer's is on the right track and knows what a proper tenderloin should be, but just needs to make sure that they don't overcook and overpound the meat so you can taste what is otherwise a perfect looking sandwich. I'm still giving four stars given the overall quality of the food that my family had, the incredible service (I can't overstate this - our server was phenomenal), the great vibe inside the restaurant and truly looking forward to trying the tenderloin again. I'll update this review next time if it's improved. read more

Visiting from CA and this place was recommended for their wings. They fry their wings them sauce them and then put them on the grill to "blacken" them. Not the best concept, but we thought we'd try them. They were very dry and im not sure they had any seasoning on them! Not sure how they won best wings. We are new to town and were looking for a spot to watch football so we landed on Hammer's last Sunday night and has such a great experience we went back for Thursday night football! Service was great. Fabiana was our server both times and Steve the bartender kept us laughing when we moved to the bar with the best cheesy jokes. My fried was in the mood for a good burger and we had heard Hammer's have 'em. Classic small bar. Really good vibes. The handful of people at the bar appeared to be regulars. Very chill afternoon crowd. We sat in the restaurant portion and were the only ones to do so. My cheeseburger was fresh and delicious. Big and juicy. Really, really good. I liked the fries as well, they appeared handmade with a little bit of the skin left on. I had a bite of my friend's patty melt and it was great! Super friendly prompt service. We were only there for food but would return for the live music that is offered Fridays and Saturdays. I usually don't comment on prices because let's face it, everything is expensive nows a day but this joint ain't cheap. Hammer's seems to be a simple, local bar in Las Vegas/ Henderson. I went on a stroll one morning and decided to stop by this bar. Upon entering, it seemed dark and gloomy; however, I had a really good experience here. The bartender was very nice, worked extremely hard to attend to all guests (a gentleman with a gray beard; he knew all of the locals by name and served their drink selections immediately before they even ordered, and was attentive to a new guest like myself). I appreciated the diverse music selection playing in the background, the service, and feeling welcomed. A bonus for me was that the food was actually very good. I ordered the teriyaki parmesan wings (8 pieces for $14). They were fried perfectly; crispy, but not dry under the skin. I also had a vodka soda, which was very reasonably priced. It seems that around noon, traffic begins to pick up and a different server came in. Also, please note that they have breakfast specials and other food specials that are not on the posted menu. A gentleman next to me had the 'special of the day': which was a jalapeño pasta. Looked and, according to him, tasted great. I would definitely recommend this bar. read more
