After visiting the Dam, our hosts steered us toward their favorite spot for a late lunch. The Dillinger is right on Arizona St and next to a fascinating antique store (check it out!). The Dillinger is located inside the historic Bank of Nevada building and is named after the infamous bank robber John Dillinger. The restaurant is cozy inside with a small bar area. There are tables out front, and each glass-covered table secures a lot of spent brass. We 6 arrived thirsty and hungry. Our very friendly server was quick to bring us water, followed by beers. They do have a few good draft beers, including Pabst Blue Ribbon. Their beer list also includes some interesting offerings like Delirium Tremens. Even though their burgers are a must-order, we all ordered salads because we had very fulfilling dinner plans ahead. These salads are not small and will definitely fill the void. My chicken salad arrived with a healthy amount of chicken, along with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. The chopped salad was another hit at our table. This is a great dive bar, and we would not hesitate to return.

The Dillinger in Boulder City, NV was excellent. We both got burgers and both were excellent! The staff was friendly, helpful, and checked on us often - not at all overbearing, they were the perfect amount of attentive. It was like they had a sixth sense, their timing was always spot on! The outdoor seating was great and there were leash hooks. I highly recommend this place - especially if you like burgers as much as I do!

I've learned that when the place is amazing, I take 0-1 picture only because I'm enjoying every moment. That is the case for this place. Amazing staff, super rad decor, and awesome food! Plus great drinks, so we were all very happy. Everything was delicious but the highlights were - 'picklebacks' (the bartender will know lol), the smash burger, the gangster fries, the prime rib melt (5 stars), and the dillinger burger of course. Oh and the clam chowder! No one was unhappy with their orders and the staff were so nice and attentive despite being pretty busy. We'll definitely come back if we're in town again.

My goodness, what a treat this was! The food was delicious and served so quickly. We had the Chicken fingers and Chicken wings, both with fries! Absolutely loved it. The service was great, fast and friendly. The interior was really cool!

I finally made it to The Dillinger! Located in Downtown Boulder City this tiny spot has amble seating with a friendly staff. I ordered The Dillinger- minus the cheddar piled with applewood smoked bacon & bbq'd beef brisket. This is a Damn good burger! Hubs ordered the Pancho Villa burger - piled high with grilled Onions & Jalapeños including Habanero Jack Cheese & Jalapeño bacon- delish! For sides we choose fries & onion rings - both good. Full bar.

Came up with my husband and daughter for a quick work trip and of course had to wander around adorable Boulder City. We were starving and heard The Dillinger was a "must try" and now I see why. It's a quaint little pub style restaurant with a vast menu. My husband and I wanted to try everything! I could not believe the options. I ended up with the baby face Nelson burger with a side of their creamy chicken veggie soup. The burger was to die for! The mix of the melted Brie cheese with the fig was just *chefs kiss* I devoured it. To wash it down had to try a Nevada brewed beer and went for the Able Baker mango he'd draft. So tasty and flavorful. My husband went with an original smash burger, and my daughter did the grilled cheese with fries. All were great. Service was fairly quick and they were very attentive. Definitely would come back if in town.

Intro: On our way back to Phoenix from Vegas, we made a pit stop in Boulder City to grab lunch at The Dillinger. My friend recommended the spot and when I heard the name, it was all I needed to know. I'm a big fan of mafia/gangster movies. If The Dillinger doesn't ring a bell, it's time to do some research. Service (N/A): We got takeout so we only interacted with the staff briefly. They were quick and efficient in taking care of the bill and the food was ready when promised. No complaints. Ambiance (4.5/5): For a gangster-themed bar and restaurant, I had a certain perception in my mind of what it would look like. And I was on target. Some mafia-related pictures adorn the walls, wooden booths, and a small bar. Cool spot. Drinks (N/A): We got takeout so no drinks on this visit but they do have my favorite beer here, Delirium Tremens. Not a lot of places have it so two thumbs way up. Food (5/5): I love a good burger and The Dillinger specializes in burgers. I went with The Dillinger because hey, how can you say no to the name of the restaurant? Especially when you hear that it's a burger batty with brisket, bacon, and all of the fixings. This is a good size burger y'all that oozes with those good meat juices and sauce. The bacon is crisp. The bread fluffy. Everything comes together for an A+ burger. The fries were also great. Crisp. And a large portion. A better lunch than this would be hard to find for me. Overall: If I was living in Boulder City, I would be a regular here. We found free parking right across from the restaurant. If you're looking for a delicious lunch in a casual environment and you want to down a couple of brews, check out The Dillinger.

a closer look at Baby Face Nelson

The exceptionally fine weather spurred a trip into Boulder City for antiquing, art, big horn sheep watching, and admiring over-the-top Christmas decorations. But first, lunch at The Dillinger. Baby Face Nelson ($17.50): Hefty; the menu does boast of 1/2lbs patties. Meat doneness wavered between medium-rare (my request) and medium (restaurant default). Pretty juicy anyway. Toasted buns held together. The brie block was at a perfect melt consistency. I'd rather the arugula had fewer stems. Came with a tomato slice, lettuce leaf, and white onions on the side. Sweet Potato Fries ($2): An upcharge substitute for the standard included choice of fries/slaw/soup. Decent enough amount on the plate, most were crispy, a few softer, but all with fluffy interior, very tasty. Wasatch Brewery Apricot Hefeweizen ($7): Can, served cold with tab helpfully popped, plus a chilled glass. Value: Debatable. Prices seem high, but the burger at least was substantial. Atmosphere: Bank facade, bootlegger bar, tourist attraction. Tables were filled with used shells. Old-timey photos alongside colorful brewery posters on the walls. Music though was from the bygone classic era of MTV. Service: Super friendly and attentive from Adrai and Jacob. etc There was a 4% additional fee for credit card payment. I paid in cash.

Franks wings. Nasty when you say you don't want franks.

The wings are drenched in nasty franks sauce... even when I said I didn't want that. To go order came with TWO celery sticks. That's it. Not worth $20. Disgusting sauce and wings. Photo is after wringing out every single wing of the nasty sauce. Also when I asked my server to describe a sauce- what it was like- she said I don't really know. I tried to help her- is it sweet, is it tangy, is it vinegary? She only said it's not like franks. Tastes exactly like franks. They should not have servers who don't know how to describe food selling food and wanting a tip. She got much too well of a tip because food doesn't come out until after you pay. She had zero clue about food. This world is insane.

Okay this local dive bar is pretty cool. Good selection of cold brews. Great Gangster Theme going. Good service. Outdoor seating available. The food was good, Eggrolls should have been hotter, just warm inside. But overall we would come back to try a Burger.

So I've been trying to come here for month already after a video i saw on YouTube! Finally we decided to come for lunch and it had been a bucket list thing for me to try a food challenge one day. Lo a behold they have a challenge called " the Dillinger Gauntlet. The challenge consist of 2 Dillinger burgers they come with 1/2 lb patties applewood smoked bacon and beef brisket and of course all your veggies. The sides are everything they have which is French fries , sweet potatoe fries Cole slaw , onions rings a bow of ice cream and a slice of cheese cake. Now the catch is you have 20 minutes to complete this challenge if you finish in 20 minutes or under you get this 60$ meal for free if not then you pay obviously. The burgers were pretty juicy seasoned well and the brioche bun was great the brisket bacon were a nice and the bacon and brisket paired well. They said I didn't have to eat the veggies but I love my veggies so I had them as well. I finished both my burgers in about 5 minutes maybe less. The fries were nice and crunch seasoned perfectly. And I would guess it was at least 1 pound of fries. The sweet potatoe fries were not my cup of tea though. I'm not a fan of sweet fries they tasted really seasonal / Christmasy , that was a tough part of the challenge for me but I mustard my way through it. The onion rings were top tier!! I only got about 7/8 rings would have loved more of those. I'm sure the ranch was house made because it was bomb!! Nice and thick and creamy. Another item I was not a fan on was the Cole slaw I don't know what it was dressed with but it had no flavors and was kind of wilted idk if it was made at the beginning of the day or not. The peanut butter cake was so freaking good! I ate that thing up in like 4 bites!! The ice cream I literally had to pour water in the bowl to eat it because I kept getting a brain freeze ahaha. Hence I was eating outside because I didn't want to make this challenge a big thing. So I completed my challenge and I got my 60$ for free which I truly appreciate the staff of the Dillinger for honoring their offer!! The staff was amazing and my family was here with me for support! I'll definitely be back to try more of the items they have to offer! If anyone is in mood for a great burger I highly recommend this restaurant. Just 30 minutes outside of Vegas where my home is. Well worth the drive. Thank you so much !!

We only waited a short time for a table despite the smallish dining room. If you can't wait there was plenty of seating out front too. There were four adults in our group. Food came out promptly and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Onion rings, as they should be, hot, and crispy, and the onions were soft and sweet. Too many places give you crappy onion rings even expensive restaurants. These were made right. Five stars for that! I had the prime rib patty melt on grilled sourdough bread. A little smallish but very good. The meat was a little overcooked for a prime rib but very good flavor. I had fries which were lightly seasoned and crisp. Others had burgers and chicken. Some of us also had sweet potato fires. I should add here that we live in the Midwest, and have lived in the South, both regions that do sweet potato fries very well and in many varieties. These were lightly covered in brown sugar and cinnamon. My wife liked them I didn't think the dusting was needed. However, I prefer a more savory fry to dip in ranch dressing. They don't carry any ZERO sodas and like most places in Southern Nevada do not carry Coke products. My choices then were diet Pepsi (yuck) or water. The restrooms were in need of repair, remodeling, and cleaning but they were serviceable. The theme of historical bank robbers, thieves, and early mobsters was well presented and there were lots of things to look at while you waited. Also if you eat out front there are fans and misting machines to make it more comfortable.

This was asked four years ago, so wondering if changed. Do they take reservations? Above on the Yelp page it says yes.

Not that i am aware of, i just walk in.

Is it recommended or do they take reservations for a Saturday night?

They do not accept reservations at all. This is a very small place with limited space for eating and drinking.

There's a decent amount of street parking, but we happened to ride in at a busy time and had to park around the back by Ace Hardware, which still was an incredibly short walk around the corner. These are undeniably my favorite smashburgers in the vegas area. These burgers have truly smashed, crispy edges. I don't remember the name of mine, but it comes with mushrooms and a garlic aioli, and I loved it. The fries were well seasoned but a bit soft - could have been crunchier. My husband enjoyed his classic smashburger and commented that the condiment balance on this was great (he's dealt with very messy/sloppy smashburgers from other places). The only word of note for the burgers - it didn't seem like there was any line, but we were told it would be 30 minutes for our order, which seemed a bit much, but I also understand it was just one individual in the truck. Actually on that note, I'm not even sure if the food truck has it's own listing, as it's Tacos and Burgers, or if it's a part of Beer Zombie... We also got the Dole Whip beer, which I think it their beer with lemon sour (?), I enjoyed it and found it refreshing, but once my husband said the aftertaste reminded him of the acidic aftertaste of vomit, I was ruined, lol. I did enjoy it before that! It's a beautiful hangout area with turf, lots of seating, and a water feature with some fish and a turtle (we spent our meal wondering how the turtle doesn't escape and explore Boulder City...) not a ton of shade other than the gazebo so on a sunny day it could be rough. Fortunately for us it was cloudy and actually windy.

As many who have been to Boulder City know, they roll up the sidewalks pretty early at night and although it's a delightful town, there's only a short list of things to do once the sun goes down. That said, after a 12 hour workday in the desert heat, the things I could count on was the quick walk, cheap drinks and the friendly conversations that can be found at Maxx's bar. I've been here a couple times now this week already, but tonight I stopped by after 12 hours in the sun, a Panda Bowl and a shower to grab a few drinks. As I walked down the street I could hear loud music playing and figured they just had the speakers up more than usual, but as I walked up I noticed a singer on the patio. He was singing some classics from my days, but with a raegae twist and it was quite pleasant to hear and see, especially alongside the crowd having fun outside. I really appreciate the fact that they have live music on Wednesdays. I walked in and parked my awkward butt on a barstool and was welcomed in by Kristen. She asked me what I'd like and she quickly served me my order. It felt nice being an outsider in the community, but still feeling welcomed and I was fortunate to be able to share a casual conversation with Kristen. Throughout the evening, she was very attentive and kept the beverages flowing while also tending to patrons both inside as well as on the patio enjoying the live music. This is obviously a bar with quite a few regulars, but that's what I love about bars back home and it made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed watching some game highlights on TV and took the time to catch up on emails and texts from earlier in the day. The kind where you park the truck, stretch your legs, and suddenly you're wandering past little shops, mom-and-pop eateries, and front porches that practically dare you to slow down a minute. It's got that old-school charm, like time agreed to take its boots off and stay awhile. Now yeah, I did the "TV thing." I swung by The Coffee Cup Cafe you know, the one off Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Had my cup of coffee, tipped my cap, said "alright, that's solid." But let's be honest... just because it made it on TV don't mean it owns the crown. Sometimes the real gold's tucked a block over, minding its own business. Enter Big T's Cantina. Now listen... I may be a little biased toward Mexican food but I know greatness when it hits me in the mouth. Those asada tots? Lord have mercy. That's not food, that's an event. That's the kind of plate where you take a bite, lean back, and look at your buddy like, "We ain't leaving, are we?" Drinks were flowing, cold and strong strong enough that at one point I'm pretty sure I told a stranger from Florida he was my long-lost cousin. He didn't argue, so now I might have family in Tampa. And here's where the story turns... We start out minding our business, right? Next thing you know, we're sliding tables together like we're hosting Thanksgiving. Some folks from Florida, a couple locals, and us just talking trash, swapping stories, and somehow it turns into a full-blown drinking contest. Not the official kind, no trophies... just pride on the line and bad decisions being drafted in real time. At one point someone says, "You think you can keep up?" And I go, "Buddy, I work on an oil rig. Hydration is a lifestyle." Five minutes later I'm questioning my life choices and ordering another round anyway. That right there that's what made this place my number one. It wasn't just the food (which slapped). It wasn't just the drinks (which definitely slapped back). It was the people. The way a random afternoon turned into a table full of laughter, strangers turning into friends, and one of those memories you don't plan you just walk straight into. Big T's might not have the biggest ratings. It might not have a TV crew parked outside. But from where I'm sitting? It's the heartbeat of that strip. So here's my advice don't just follow the hype. Take the walk. Peek into the shops. Find your own spot. Write your own chapter. But if you want a little head start? Big T's Cantina. That's the one.

There's only one guacamole option listed, but it says you can add things like pineapple or bacon without listing any additional pricing or the original ingredients. I ordered the Loaded Carne Asada tacos, which came with rice and beans. Honestly, the tacos needed about double the meat. It felt like they added extra cabbage and pico to bulk them up instead of giving a proper portion of carne asada. It was weird to have the cabbage on the bottom of the taco instead of the meat. The beans were good though. They tasted like traditional refried pinto beans and were probably the most solid part of the plate. The rice was a miss for me because the cilantro was extremely overpowering. The complimentary chips and salsa were great. The salsa definitely has some heat, so if you like spicy, you'll probably enjoy that part.
