A rolling stone may gather no moss, but this local gem is rolling and gathering más... customers. Huevos Avenue is a Mexican American diner with two spots, one of which I tried last year. This original location isn't that far from a casino I've been frequenting lately. I finally made a stop here on one of those trips. Inspired by their second store's recommendation, I went for the Chilaquiles con Huevos ($13.49). I actually went half and half with the red and green salsas, which seemed like it could break up the monotony. All green is actually the right move because the green is just so much more vibrant, even when it got cooler at the end. Try not to wait since the salsa-soaked chips feel more soggy and just aren't as appealing when lukewarm. I went with sunny side up for the eggs, and they came out cooked right. Scrambled might be cleaner. And I added on the Asada ($5.99), which had some char and was tender enough when cut against the grain. It feels worthwhile as a hefty portion for the premium. The Jamaica was great last time and would have been a great pairing today. For variety, I went for the Piña ($3.29) instead. It is somewhat artificial in taste and feel and is certainly sweeter overall, but it worked well enough. The dining room felt pretty busy for a small town. The server was on top of it and was also fun; she seemed to tell everyone that she'll see them again tomorrow. Check out Huevos Avenue for affordable, tasty breakfast or lunch food with a Mexican twist. I would go with the more accessible Henderson location if you're not a BC resident, but it's a great spot for this community. read more

Such a cute breakfast spot in Boulder City! My friend and I stopped by around 9 AM on a Saturday, and even though it was absolutely packed, we were greeted right away and seated with zero wait. I ordered the Moo Lette omelette with frijoles as my side, plus a fresh orange juice. The omelette was delicious and completely loaded with steak and cheese, and the frijoles hit the spot. The OJ was crisp and super tasty, too! My friend had been here before and recommended it, and I'm so glad she did. We finished a 4-mile hike and needed a good breakfast spot afterward; Huevos Avenue did not disappoint! There were eight of us, and they quickly put a table together to accommodate our group. Within about 20 minutes, we all had our breakfast. The portions were great and definitely enough to leave me satisfied. I'm pretty picky when it comes to breakfast, and I'd absolutely make the drive back to Boulder City just to eat here again! Big shout-out to our waitress, Bethany! This was one of my favorite Yelp discoveries yet! I did a search for a healthy lunch near me and it recommended Huevos Avenue. We walked in one hour before closing, and were greeted by Timber with a smile. Although the space was empty at 2p, it was super clean. I was looking for a light menu option and was guided to the Lean and Green Omelette. This delicious dish was chock full of mushrooms, spinach, sautéed onions & bell peppers. It came with a side of fresh fruit. My husband ordered a Breakfast Burrito with house potatoes (potatoes mixed with peppers, onions and cubed ham) . Drove by as we were in the area and wanted breakfast! The parking lot wasn't too full so we stopped in. We were greeted right away and seated quickly. This is a good place for families! The decor was so cute and had a western /farm house vibe. The menu was very big and had lots of options for breakfast and lunch! Anything from bothers, salads, waffles and pancakes. We both had the 2 egg breakfast which came with choice of sausage or bacon, hash browns and choice of flavored pancakes. We had coffee cake and chocolate chip pancakes. The eggs were cooked just as we like them. Both pancakes were delicious and the batter is made in house! The coffee cake pancakes tasted like a huge cinnamon roll and were made fresh! The chocolate chip pancakes were light and fluffy and loaded with chocolate chips! We loved that they told us "see you tomorrow" as it's their motto! I went to Boulder City to walk the Bootleg Canyon Park Nature Discovery Trail this morning. Although a short walk, after that, it's always a good time to have some breakfast. Before I left the parking lot at the park, I checked with the Yelp app and found Huevos Avenue, and it was only a bit more than a mile from where I was. I don't know how many times I have gone past and never knew this was there. Look for the BEST PANCAKES covering the front windows. There is plenty of parking. The dining room is large. I was seated quickly. Quite a few people came after I got there. Since I am generally not a pancake nor waffle eater, and having just been to the Nature Trail, why not get the nopales con huevos (eggs with cactus)? I was brought coffee right after sitting down. My server, Richard, was very personable and on the ball!. When he brought my breakfast, he took care to point out the Serrano pepper nestled on the scrambled eggs and warned me about the pepper's heat. It was excellent, very hot, but very tasty. I wish I had asked for a glass of water with the coffee! You get a choice of flour or corn tortilla. I usually stick with the flour as I did today. The scrambled eggs come with beans and house potatoes. I wish there was less liquid with the beans. This was a major breakfast after a minor trail walk but it was so good! My husband and I go to Huevos Avenue almost every Sunday. We love the food, it is always consistently good. We enjoy all the waitresses but usually have Timber. She knows exactly what we want each time for breakfast. We don't even have to tell her she just writes it down. The food choices are almost unlimited. Breakfast and lunch until 3 pm I believe. Driving through we decided to stop at Huevos Avenue and give it a try on our road trip. We were seated quickly and they were pretty packed. Someone came and ask if anyone had taken our drink order yet. She took our drink order then another waitress came up and took our order. The ladies were very nice and accommodating. The restaurant had are on the wall and a TV that had pictures of their food. This made ordering easier if you'd never spotted by. The customers are predominately older as they are from Boulder City, however they made it very clear that they love this place ! The food was good . We were out for a long morning of shooting and decided on this restaurant for brunch. We were not disappointed. We were a large group of 6 and we were seated within minutes. Our waitress, who was a younger woman was bubbly and funny. She made us feel very welcome. You can imagine with 6 adults after 4 hours on the range, we were hungry. I think we may have ordered everything! She handled our very large and some very picky orders with ease. She got everything right. She kept our coffee mugs full and didn't miss a beat with her humor. Everyone was very happy with their food and even commented about it the next day. I ordered the fit omelet. Very green and very fresh. I would order again. My boyfriend and I went to Huevos Avenue in Boulder City on Sunday 4/19, and unfortunately this was our second bad experience in a row. We used to come here and not mind the food, but after both a recent takeout order and this dine-in visit, we won't be coming back. He ordered the club sandwich with fries, and I got the chicken and waffles. Starting with the club, this was honestly shocking. It came with a single slice of ham (about 1 cm thick) cut into four pieces and placed on each quarter of the sandwich. No turkey like a typical club, and only a small half piece of bacon per section. It was basically bread with minimal filling. The fries had good seasoning, but they were completely soggy, which ruined them. My chicken and waffles were even worse. It was served with ranch instead of syrup, which was odd right off the bat. The waffle itself was dense and very bready. The chicken tenders were extremely overcooked--hard, stale, and honestly difficult to bite into. There was more breading than chicken, and the texture inside was so rubbery it was hard to eat. I've genuinely had better frozen chicken. To sum it up, both of our meals felt like we were just eating a ton of bread. We both felt gross almost immediately after eating. I do want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the service. Our server was incredibly sweet and clearly doing her best. However, there were only two servers working a completely full restaurant on a weekend morning. We counted roughly 20 tables per server, which is honestly unreasonable and a recipe for burnout. That's on management, not the staff. The only positive was that the aguas frescas had free refills. Overall, really disappointing. Between the poor food quality and repeated bad experiences, we won't be returning. read more

We had a large party to celebrate a birthday. It was very easy to make the reservation. When we arrived, the table was ready. Bethanie was our server and she was magnificent. Drinks were ordered and came out quickly. Food was ordered and also came out quickly. Not one mistake or issue. She was excellent. We never had to wait for anything. She was on top of refills and any requests. She had other tables she was serving as well. She made the birthday brunch special and we definitely plan on returning. Once we were seated we received menus quickly. After ordering however, it took about 25-35 minutes to get our food. Again, the place was packed with lots of families and large parties. I got the quesadilla burger and we received one of the omelets with hashbrowns. The omelet was amazing and I highly recommend getting one.
