I came here with my girlfriend and her 3 cousins for a weekend in the cape and was absolutely in paradise. The only thing the wait staff here didn't do was place a crown on my head and kiss my feet. They were so welcoming and friendly I was taken back at first. We had gone to the gourmet brunch the previous day and had felt as If we were a nuscance with every request or question. After seated, our server Alecia greeted us immediately and gave us steaming hot coffee and crayons for the little ones. I chose one of the omelettes and my girlfriend chose the benedict while the kids had some French toast, a pancake shaped like Mickey mouse, and walffle with strawberries and whip cream. Needless to say my mouth was watering just looking at the menu. We waited about 10 minutes before our food came out; everything was steaming and smelled amazing. And the portions were HUGE! Before any of us could ask for anything else our server had syrup hot sauce and ketchup ready for us. After our first few bites we new we had made the right decision coming here. Went for Sunday breakfast while vacationing in Hyannis. We were seated right away on the patio as we requested. Server came over promptly and was very pleasant. I had the classic eggs Benedict which was delicious. I'm sure the other variations are just as good. Very pleasant experience with great food and atmosphere. By far the worst place I have ever been. Sat immediately, then wasn't asked for drink order for 5 minutes. Waited another 5 for that and still didn't get everything. She took our order, which didn't come for about 45 minutes. In that time she never came over to inform about an extended wait or apologize for the wait. When the food finally came it was burnt and terrible. My coffee was only refilled by other staff members by me asking as they walked by, never my waitress. And that was cold too! Not good. The service was slow in spite of having a lot of help just standing around. the home fries were awful I asked if the potatoes were canned they said no but they tasted like metal and had that grey color that happens when they sit cut for to long. Unfortunately, this place really does deserve the bad reviews. The staff had the all the charisma of a house brick and looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. Anywhere else. I can't blame them for the ridiculous amount of time it took to get the two of us our breakfast (about 45 minutes), but I can blame them for not keeping us up to date with progress. Anyone of them could have simply come over to us and apologized for the delay, and we would have been a lot less aggravated. The food itself was mediocre. Bad diner quality at best, and totally overpriced. If you can't make eggs, sausage and home fries without screwing up (cold, greasy potatoes, unevenly cooked and cheap sausages and runny eggs), you don't deserve to be in the food service industry. I can see why there was a queue at The Daily Paper just down the road now. They need to get better (and more) cooks and sort out their logistics. If not, hopefully this shambles of a restaurant will disappear into a black hole and be replaced with something a lot better. read more

I have been going to Hyannis Mass many years and I have always had breakfast at the Egg and I. Just came back from our annual trip in Aug of 2014. THEY LOST MY CREDIT CARD!!!!! We ate our meal which was just ok. Service sucked and very long wait to get our food. I had to ask for the check and when she took my credit card, she never came back with it. Finally, I asked another waitress to get her. She then said she couldn't find my card! She didn't seem to care all that much and neither did the rest of the staff! After a half an hour of going in circles, I called and canceled it. In the meantime, she never once apologized. I asked to speak to the owner who was a complete ass! He acted like he couldn't understand what I was telling him. I said they should at least comp our meal and the response I got was, why was the food bad??? I couldn't believe that not only did they not care but didn't even offer us anything!!! Horrible place. Last weekend my parents, my husband, my 9 month old and I stopped in for breakfast. We got there around 10 and it took well over 20 minutes for a waitress to acknowledge us. We ordered coffees and I also asked for a water. We asked to place our food order at the same time. The table next to us had just sat down and they placed their order in after us. We waited a while and we got our coffee. No water. By now it was after 11. The people next to us got their food. Everyone around us was getting their food. Finally it came out I ordered blueberry pancakes which tasted like a box mix. I again asked for the water I had ordered an hour ago. Waitress's replies I was just about to get it. We are done eating and still no water. My mom got up to ask the waitress for a 3rd time for my water and the check. She brings the water over no apology. Again we ask for the check. During this time the older couple that was seated before our food came out got up and left because no one awknowledged them. We didn't get out of there until 12. Overall I think management doesn't give a crap, waitresses are cluelessand the place is clearly understaffed. We did see the tarp separating the bathrooms from the kitchen so gross. I really wish I checked out Yelp before we stopped. The place was busy so we figured it was good. Never again! I'm shocked this place has not been shut down. read more

Do not waste your time or money at this place! We ignored the bad reviews and regret it! My husband and I are eggs benedict addicts and this could have been the worst attempt we have ever seen. The poached eggs were obviously not drained and our english muffins were sitting in a pool of water. We had one bite and told the server we did not want them anymore. She asked if we wanted something else which we declined since we were in a hurry to get to the beach. When she brought the check over she said, "my manager said if you didn't want it to be soggy, we should have ordered the eggs on the side and that we still had to pay". WHAT?! Coming from the hospitality industry I just couldn't believe my ears! We ended up speaking with both the manager and the owner who still claimed that "we do not know what eggs Benedict are because they are always like that" and told us "fine, we will take one order off". My husband and I decided to try this restaurant since the restaurant we usually frequent was closed and the other restaurant we like had too many people waiting to get in for breakfast. There was no line waiting to be seated and a few open tables when we went into the restaurant. We waited a couple of minutes and the hostess asked how many in our party. He said two. She said we would have to wait while they set up a table. That was fine. One minute later another couple came in and there were only two in their party also and she sat them right away. A party of three came in and they were seated right away. My husband and I were still standing there waiting to be seated! I am usually pretty tolerant but not today. We walked out and went somewhere else. After reading the reviews I guess we were lucky that we didn't have breakfast there. We won't be back for any meal. read more

All the negative reviews written about this disgusting restaurant are not vile enough to describe the service, the food and the ambiance. The scrambled eggs were so rubbery the burnt bacon tried to escape by bouncing off the eggs but drowned instead with the potatoes in an ocean of grease. This place needs an exorcism!
