Update to first review below, rating updated from a 3 to a 5 star (drinks & bartender would get 10+…read morestars if we could rate that high): Saturday night: Went back for after dinner drinks at the Downstairs (a "speakeasy" throwback, look up the history of the place to see why). Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. Chicken is great and they're one of the only places around to get fried green tomatoes. You can tell that they know what they're doing. Before walking in I asked a guy that had just walked out if it "was worth it" and he said 100%. I have to agree, it's 100% worth it. They even gave us 2 legs to sample first to make sure that the spice level wasn't too much. The food is great and the excellent service is a big cherry on top. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

The thing that stood out to me the most is the filling they put in it, as well as the apple bites. But the only thing that I don't really like about it is that most of the time I go ask for it, they'll say that there's no more. Which makes me really sad and also they sometimes don't even put as much filling or apple bites in the pie. Unlike other restaurants, they don't make it the way I like it, but overall I really enjoy the pie. I recommend it from all locations except for Potranco Mcdonald's. They're always busy so most likely they won't have it.

Stumbled across this great food truck when riding around San Antonio with my sister. The food…read moretruck is in an area with a lot of murals and while walking around taking pictures one of the guys got our attention to come and try the food. We were both very pleased. Didn't get the guys name taking the order but he was extremely nice and welcoming. Food was fresh and quick and delicious. Next time I'm in San Antonio I'm looking forward to going back and trying different items on their menu.

This last time I ordered a Chicken Burrito Bowl with White Rice, Black Beans, Queso, Sour Cream, and Cheese. They prepared my order with enough of each ingredient so that I didn't feel like I was lacking for any one particular thing. The Chicken wasn't too fatty but was still pretty moist, the Rice was soft and fluffy, and the Beans weren't over or undercooked. The Sour Cream, Queso, and shredded Cheese made for excellent creamy toppings. The Burrito Bowl as a whole made for an excellent and satisfying hearty meal that was absolutely packed with protein.
