One of the worst morning breakfast. They don't have chicken option but they had veggie. We went for it and got tons of lettuce inside bun with sauce. Literally it was tasteless or you can say we had lettuce in breakfast. This is not what you expect when you pay $6 for a veggie sandwich. They didn't keep tissues outside even. We had to ask then to give some as they handed over the sandwich in our hand directly. Attention to detail was literally missing.

The two workers who decided to come out and speak degrading foul language to a potential customer from out of town

I tried to go in to order not knowing they were closed, their employees proceeded to come outside and call me a "stupid dumb bitch" this is completely unacceptable for any guests and especially ones that are here from out of town. I'd love to report the two employees seen in the attached photo, the one in the red is the one who decided it was a great idea to come out and speak to a potential customer that way and the one behind him who supported his actions. Please don't come here they have no respect.

Ok so I eat here about 1-2 times a week. I'm addicted to the unwhich. Get extra lettuce, hot peppers and jimmys mustard. You won't go wrong. LCHF diet friendly!

I don't like to dine in here because the bacon is not hot or crispy so I choose to get it to go or order at work. They are always fast , allow you to pay seperate, and give you totals for each order so you can make sure everyone pays . There is a delivery charge per order but it's cheap . They offer pickles and a variety of chips. I just fell in love with the salt and vinegar

It happened to be one of the only places open at that hour, which made it a convenient option. The burger and fries were decent, but nothing that really stood out or made me feel like I was missing out all these years. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty average burger spot. One thing that did catch my attention, though, was the customer service. The employee offered additional ingredients and toppings, which was a nice touch and something I don't normally experience at most fast-food restaurants. That extra level of service was appreciated and made the visit a little more memorable. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. While it didn't quite live up to the hype for me, it was a solid late-night meal when I needed one. If you're looking for a quick burger and good service, it's worth a stop. Just don't go in expecting anything life-changing.

As someone who manages people and production for a living, I rarely leave negative reviews unless…read morethere is a clear breakdown in leadership. Unfortunately, that was exactly the case during our visit to this Whataburger. We placed our order through the Whataburger app at 12:17 a.m. after spending the evening enjoying downtown San Antonio. Despite ordering ahead, we did not receive our food until 1:16 a.m.--nearly an hour later. What made the experience even more frustrating was watching numerous customers who ordered in person after we arrived receive their meals 30 minutes or more before ours. There appeared to be no organized system for handling mobile orders. I want to be clear that this review is not directed at the employees working the counter and kitchen. They remained professional, kept their composure, and worked as quickly as they could under what was obviously a very difficult situation. They deserve credit for maintaining a positive attitude despite being overwhelmed. The responsibility rests with management. This was Friday night in downtown San Antonio, and there was a major concert at the Alamodome. None of this should have been a surprise. A competent management team anticipates predictable surges in business by scheduling appropriately, preparing inventory, and ensuring operational systems can handle increased demand. Instead, it appeared the restaurant was understaffed and unprepared, leaving employees to absorb the frustration of customers. That's not fair to the staff, and it's certainly not acceptable for paying customers. What happened wasn't simply a busy night--it was a failure in planning and leadership. When management prioritizes minimizing labor costs over being adequately prepared for predictable demand, the customer experience inevitably suffers. I hope the ownership reviews what occurred this night. The employees deserve better support, and customers deserve the level of service they expect from one of Texas' most recognizable brands.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)

They prepared my order with enough of each ingredient so that I didn't feel like I was lacking for any one particular thing. The Chicken wasn't too fatty but was still pretty moist, the Rice was soft and fluffy, and the Beans weren't over or undercooked. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

One of the first things…read morewe learned was that Casa Rio was the first restaurant to open on the River Walk, which I thought was such a cool piece of San Antonio history and made me even more excited to try it. Now, let's talk about the check-in process because this was probably my biggest issue with the experience. In my opinion, it was very crowded, chaotic, and unorganized. The check-in stand is outside, and it wasn't very clear where the actual line started, where guests were supposed to wait, or how everything was supposed to flow. Since you're right on the River Walk, you're also dealing with a lot of foot traffic from people who aren't dining at the restaurant. We found ourselves constantly moving out of the way while trying to figure out where we were supposed to be. They do have designated waiting areas, but they didn't seem to be enforced, which added to the congestion around the check-in stand. I definitely think a more structured check-in and waiting process would make a huge difference. And then there was the wait! I completely understand that Casa Rio is a popular restaurant, especially given its location and history, but goodness--the wait was LONG. Thankfully, the food made up for a lot of it. Once we were finally seated, it did take a while for our waiter to come over. By the time he arrived to take our drink orders, we had been sitting long enough that we were ready to order everything--drinks, appetizers, and entrées--all at once. That wasn't the best start to the actual dining portion of the experience. BUT...the shrimp tacos?! SOOO good! I would honestly come back just for those. My family enjoyed their meals as well, so the food was definitely the highlight of our visit. Overall, I had a decent experience and would absolutely give Casa Rio another try. The food was good, the River Walk setting is beautiful, and I loved the history behind the restaurant. I just think they could significantly improve the guest experience by creating more structure around check-in, waiting areas, and getting newly seated tables attended to a little quicker. Despite the wait and the chaos outside, I'm glad we tried it--and those shrimp tacos may be enough to bring me back!
