I love Cheesy Jane's! This place feels ripped right out of the 50's, and has a great ambience while you eat your classic burgers and shakes. None of that would matter as much if the food wasn't good, but fortunately here it is fantastic. The burgers are juicy and the buns are soft. For our visit though, the stand out was the onion rings. The sides stole the show tonight with a large order of onion rings that were a different fry texture than the ordinary ones and served with fresh ranch. The fries and tots were both hot, seasoned well, and delicious. Bacon cheeseburger was eh. Love that they use hormone free but sad that it didn't taste any different than a fast food burger and actually a lot dryer. A Broadway staple, I am quite embarrassed to say I hadn't found myself here before. But when my niece declared "chicken and fries!!" for lunch as we strolled out of the nearby DoSeum, this seemed the obvious choice. Parking is unusual with a tiny lot onsite and a dedicated lot just across the street, so if you drive a big car be prepared to do some maneuvering. Just as well, as soon as you walk through the door you are transported back to a classic 50/60's burger joint! Just enough decorations to set the tone, but not so many that it's too busy. We were sat immediately but the lunch rush slowed the servers down quite a bit, fine for us but if you are trying to get in and out during and office lunch you might want to factor in some extra time. When the food did come out we were pleasantly surprised! Their signature dish, the Cheesy Jane was delicious!! Just the right meat, cheese, bun, and condiments ratio for me (a feat that not many joints accomplish). The fries are my favorite style as well, perfectly fluffy and crispy all at once. Surprisingly, they offer a gluten free bun! It is quite small so it goes best with the 1/3 pounder so you can't be too hungry, but the option is a nice touch to accommodate special diets. They are of course kid friendly and offer high chairs (although be prepared to clean it as they are visibly piled high with years of...gunk) as well as a coloring page. The only downside is it was a bit too expensive for what it is, $60 for two adults and a toddler is pushing it. However, a solid option when you are looking for a classic, yummy lunch. read more

This is the BEST cheeseburger I've had in San Antonio. They have all kinds of specialty burgers, but I just went for a 1/2 lb cheeseburger with everything on it cooked medium well. 10/10! No notes. The Patty is a smash Patty with crispy edges and so juicy! We got tater tots; super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fries had a mild seasoning and also very good. The only reason I'm giving a four star review is because service was super slow. We had to get up from the table to pay the bill and ask for our to go boxes. It's worth it for the food though! So, a couple things going in the door: I rarely give 5 stars, and I'm tough on burger joints because they are my all time favorite food. So, as for this joint: 'Twas okay. Walked in around 2:45 on Friday afternoon; luckily it was pretty dead. There's pretty much ZERO parking at the location itself, and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the inside. It's got a very nostalgic, old school diner feel, including seating at the "bar". Maybe not quite the old soda fountain feel, but close. Service was fast, but not overly friendly. Food came out pretty quickly. I opted for the Comal burger and tots. Unfortunately, the burger patty had that...pre-made reheated vibe to it. Parts of it were chewier and gristlier than I would have liked. But, the chipotle mayo? Holy smokes! I almost asked for a side of it to dip my tots in...it is that good! I also found the tots just a tad overdone, too. Tots dry out super fast, they can go from perfect to too airy and crunchy quickly. Would I go back!? Absolutely! I'd like to go back and get a milkshake sometime. Am I in a rush to go back, though? Not really. I also felt the price point was just too high. It's a good size burger, mediocre size serving of tots...but $17...? I should say, though, a quick trip to the bathroom will result in seeing a helluva lot of accolades for this place. My family and I love going to Cheesy Jane's! It's a cute local diner with quick service and friendly staff. If I had to recommend anything, the milkshakes are very yummy. I usually go for the Oreo milkshake, but there's a list of milkshakes that look like they would all taste great. I enjoy the Boca burger with fries every time we come, which is nice since I'm a vegetarian, and my husband can enjoy a regular burger. We got the homemade fried peppers the last time we went in those were also very good. I recommend dipping them with ranch. read more

I was highly impressed with the burgers here at Cheesy Jane's. I ordered the Jammin Jane and my wife ordered the Southwest burger. My Jammin Jane was incredible. The beef they use is so good... it tasted fresh and full of flavor. I also ordered a peanut butter and chocolate shake with my mean and finished the whole thing. It was rich, thick and I couldnt get enough. I will definitely be coming back and will bring some friends along with me. This place deserves all the love. Popped in for lunch. Arrived around 1115 on a Tuesday and was pretty empty. We ordered an Oreo milkshake, a Wurst burger and a Jamming Jane. Oreo milkshake came out first and the food not long after. Milkshake was spot on! Was heavy on the whipped cream. Burgers were large, so much that we barely ate half before being full. They did not skimp on the toppings either. The staff has changed a lot and so has the service. The servers are nice, but sometimes will forget things we asked for. Miss the train that used to work on the ceiling. We drive by cheesy jane's quite a bit. I've had the burgers from the food truck. Always been good. We finally decided to come to the actual restaurant, and what a great decision it was. The decor is diner style decor. Really nice, but super small. Maybe around 20 or so tables. They can put them together for larger parties. Maria got the half pound cheesy Jane, came with fries, and we ordered sweetie fries. She tore it up, not a single piece of burger left. I had the Wurst Burger, half pond pattie, with a sliced sausage on it. Came with grilled onions, and bbq sauce. I devoured that thing. It was good. Next time I will get something else. We order tots and rings, every good. I wanted to get chili cheese fries or tots. I instead just got a cup of chili to try the chili. I'm getting chili cheese fries next time. It is a family restaurant so be prepared for many larger parties with small children that are louder. I ate almost everything and that is not typical for me. The service, Maria, was awesome and I believe the manager helped refill our drinks. We got small yummy shakes to go. The restrooms and restaurant were clean. My kids work in the food industry and they thought the kitchen looked REALLY CLEAN. Very impressed. We drove all the way from Bulverde to come eat here. It was a rainy day, so we stopped here after finishing the Witte Museum. We had two kids and two adults. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with cheese fries and a strawberry shake. Apparently they are working on a online order option soon according to the website and I'm glad to hear that will soon be a option. I have sensory processing disorder and sometimes it's hard to communicate for me over the phone when my neural circuits are fried out.The phone will cause my ears to throb.Kind of like tapping on a microphone whenever someone speaks and if my bandwidth is running low that could be discouraging to phone in a order on my own so this will make it easier for us to order as well as others like me that may have similar disabilities or sensory issues. This little restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. We thought it was simply the food trucks out front. BUT a friend mentioned they loved it, so we decided to check it out with the kids. The atmosphere is diner-ish and there is table and booth seating. The ambience is casual and fun. They have a variety on the kids menu and the full menu. The kids had chicken tenders and hot dogs. They were tasty. The fries are well seasoned and are small steak fry size. I ordered the Cheesy Jane (minus the tomato and onion) with tots. The tots were the perfect crispness and flavor. The burger was a thick, juicy patty. The food came out quickly, especially given how full the restaurant was. We also ordered an oreo shake and a mint chocolate chip oreo shake. They came with large straws (woohoo!). The consistency and flavor was perfect! Worst service ever and subpar burgers. Bought two burgers to go and when i got home the order was wrong. I called the manager and she insisted i ordered wrong and was rude. At 16.95 a burger it should be what i ordered. I went back to order my replacement burgers and was told they would only redo one! Worst customer service ever. Do not recommend at all. I told the manager Hilda she was rude and she said she was perhaps just busy. Did not deny her rudeness! Never again there are less expensive better places with great service read more
