I would give this 4 stars. Specifically, my rating will address their apple pies. Although, It's just heated, It's very good to eat after a meal, Especially during the holidays. The thing that stood out to me the most is the filling they put in it, as well as the apple bites. But the only thing that I don't really like about it is that most of the time I go ask for it, they'll say that there's no more. Which makes me really sad and also they sometimes don't even put as much filling or apple bites in the pie. Unlike other restaurants, they don't make it the way I like it, but overall I really enjoy the pie. I recommend it from all locations except for Potranco Mcdonald's. They're always busy so most likely they won't have it. read more

DAVID FREDRICK (a security guard) from Texas Veterans Security, deserves to be FIRED tonight and never to return to this location or any other location for that matter. My family and I with three SMALL children came to McDonald's located at 101 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio 78205 to feed the children. With PERMISSION from the McDonald's staff, we began to gather the children at the "managers table" that is ONLY used for the MORNING SHIFT. After we began to feed the CHILDREN, David Fredrick (from security) approached my African American brother and said to his face, "you all have to move, this is reserved for managers only." AFTER my brother shared with him that we were granted permission to sit there he proceeded with "you need to move, you can't read?" At this time David Fredrick proceeded to grab the stroller which still had two small children in it to insist we move. We now felt like the children were in harms way of David Fredrick. Not a second later my sister asked for a manager. After speaking to the managers (Gonzalo & another), they kindly apologized and granted us permission again for us to SIT and STAY where we were sitting because it was only reserved for managers in the morning. After hearing this, David Fredrick STILL insisted to speak, and this time turned to my sister and stated, "WOMEN WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU." With the level of unprofessionalism and racism that David Fredrick showed was an embarrassment to my family. He should be fired immediately and his security license revoked. No guest of Texas or customer of McDonald's should ever have to feel the way we did. We were looked down upon. We were rudely spoken too. And the look of hatred was written and shown all over his face. We will never return to this McDonald's again. A sad and hurtful experience and one that we did not want the children to EVER have to witness or be in the midst of. Our receipts CLEARLY show, we ONLY ordered for the children. Such a disappointing moment to have experienced here today. A representative from Texas V. Security named Angel Rodriquez finally showed up to the McDonald's facility to get the full incident and apologize on behalf of Texas Veterans Security. We thanked Angel for his kind words. We hope Texas V. Security takes this matter serious as things could have escalated as David Fredrick approached and touched the stroller of the children. No family should ever have to feel like they have to protect their children from "SECURITY." The person being paid to protect us. After this the sign, "reserved for managers" was removed. read more

My family and I needed a quick, easy place to eat. We weren't expecting much, but we really wanted to go because it was " two stories." This was the worst McDonald's I have ever visited. First of all, this place was disgustingly dirty. Tables have food piled on top of them, corners had dirt and rust, window seals had crumbs and wrappers. A chair had some green substance on it. I literately was gagging. Another problem is that they had a whole section of tables blocked off. This place was filled shoulder to shoulder with people, and there were no tables. The section had booths for big families like mine, but they were blocked off! It is unacceptable to do this sort of thing. One last problem is that they were very understaffed. No tables were cleaned! People walk around looking for tables and none are open. If there is one open, it's filled with food. I do not recommend this McDonald's . read more

I ordered through DoorDash. My order arrived hot and fresh at estimated arrival time. Everything in my order was bagged correctly and sealed properly. I order the spicy chicken sandwich with a large fry. I recommend the spicy chicken sandwich if you are a fan of spicy food. It has great flavor and just the right amount of spicy kick from the spicy sauce. I had an overall great experience. I recommend downloading the McDonalds app because it accumulates points everytime you order that you can use towards free food. This busy location runs smoothly with mobile orders and orders placed in store. Tables are generally kept clean. The coffee is good, but the biscuits aren't soft.  A biscuit should be soft when you bite into it.  This doesn't make their biscuits inedible, just not very satisfying. read more

Located right in the heart of downtown San Antonio just in case you don't want to try real food and local food, there's this or the Texan version Whataburger just down the street. It's not awful, but some of the food, such as my fries (ugh) is sometimes served lukewarm, and why you come to a great city like this and get food like this is beyond me. Worst McDonald's I've been to. You have to wait 30 minutes in a line to order from a kiosk. I saw about 10 employees and 6 registers... why are we ordering from a machine ??? Then if you have to use the restroom you have to have a receipt with you! Like come on, what if I really have to go really bad and I'm still waiting in the 30 minute line you have for me to order from a machine! They would rather you use the restroom on yourself then to go in their restrooms because you don't have a receipt.... Also they tax everything then tax it again. Who doesn't like McDonald's with a street view from 2nd floor seating area. It's convenient when you're on foot. I was attracted by the WiFi signal across street when I arrived in San Antonio 2 days ago. I eat at McDonald's so much. My phone knows where to go. So, I'm here again. I needed to cool off before driving home to Houston. Wait, I paid for whole day parking. I might do some more tourist things in downtown after this. When sitting upstairs, there's a 15 minutes limit. On Wednesday June 14th around 9'o clock my family and I visited this location and had an awful experience. After visiting several touristic places for 3 days, we decided to close the trip by visiting the river walk. As we were walking around we spotted this McDonald's. Little did we know that we were about to have our worst experience ever in a fast food restaurant. First, my daughter stood there for a while before they helped her. Finally when they decided to help her The young lady that was taking orders was being rude and unfriendly the whole time. Second, we asked if we could use the restroom but they said no because we needed a receipt to prove that we were paying customers, all of this while my daughter is standing there placing an order. After, we begged them to open the bathroom they finally did. Third, after they were taking forever for just two frappes, my daughter was standing there waiting and waiting. Next thing we know is the young girl erased the order from the screen as she had made it already. The waiting continued. I went into the bathroom and come out to find out they the young girl behind the counter was creaming at my daughter, after she asked if she could have her order made. She was screaming that she (my daughter) was nobody to tell her what to do to which I say: "you don't talk to a customer like that, you need a little training." She replied that I need training raising my daughter raising her voice to me and using profanity. So now, not only did I endure mistreatment, but I got schooled how to raise my daughter by a teenager. Very disrespectful. After all that, an older lady came to the front (I assume it was the manager), but she never introduced herself or apologize in any way. After all this, our night and our trip was ruined. Many people were standing there in disbelief of what had transpired. One young man approached us and said that he was mistreated by this lady too. I'm going to have to agree with Dan D. in that this is not a very clean or tidy McDonald's. I saw the crowds the Saturday night before, and this place was jam packed. We however were here on Sunday morning and the place was still a mess. It just had an old, run down, dingy feel too it. However, as a place for a quick, inexpensive breakfast before hitting the road, it got the job done. Our nephew did think it pretty cool to eat on the second floor. It is also clever how this McDonald's makes use of an older (historic?) building, so it definitely does not look like your typical McDonald's, at least not from the outside (see photo). read more

So I start off by saying, this is McDonald's it is not a fine dining five star hipster restaurant LOL It is fast food and is a McDonald's... In saying that though, this is one of the coolest McDonald's you can possibly go to! It is located at the heart of downtown, has the old rustic look you would expect around the Alamo city, has plenty of seating inside and not only downstairs but upstairs! There are huge windows in hitch can be both fun to look out and see the streets or brutal if the sun is aiming right at you. If you're looking for a fast food place (a McDonald's) it great!! If your comparing this to some other fun dine/hypster/small chain paces then this place is 1 - 2 stars for sure read more

Ahhh a trip to McDonald's... the shame of those who travel personified. Yet, my shame has either reached no bounds, or being under the weather and wanting a basic egg muffin with hashbrown for breakfast has humbled me into this review. I doubt I've felt so thankful in the last few months then when I was given my personal comfort food. I'm not only a cheap date, but I'm starting to see that I'm cheap to keep happy as well, because this was a treat that my sickened little soul needed. A love letter to my humble upbringing, maybe.
