    Smoked eel

Had the tasting meal at Eels and it was fantastic. The decor for the restaurant was very nice: white and clean with some green accents and exposed stone. The waitstaff was extremely nice and very detailed when explaining the paired wines we had with each course. We had the smoked eel (I mean, you had to expect it, right?), a chicory and cheese course, pollock course, a braised beef cheek course, and the desert course was a type of mousse with a peanut brittle type filling which was delicious. The wine pairings were generous and I got tipsy enough were I forgot to take pictures of most of the courses. It was a very nice meal.

Eels is art as much as it is food. The visuals and flavors stun with color and contrast. Standouts was the smoked Eels entree, which melted in the mouth and had many layers of flavor. The trout was also one of our favorites, a melange of textures and flavors. Service is perhaps the best in Paris, with an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier, friendly, helpful staff, and a kitchen that runs like a machine. The well appointed interior is a place for romance and celebration. I've been lucky to dine here twice over the last two years. Looking forward to visit number 3.

Eels was by far the best meal we had in Paris. The tasting menu and wine pairing is a must. Each dish was well layered and the wine pairings were perfect. Stand outs for me were the eel and duck dishes. The service was impeccable, the team at Eels truly make you feel special and are there to make sure you are having a great time. The sommelier was knowledgeable and his descriptions of the wine provided an elevated experience. A must go to.

I'd say this is one of the best restaurants I've tried in Paris. We were recommended this restaurant by my friend and booked a table without doing much research. When we came around 1pm on a weekday, the restaurant was almost full. We ordered two set menu including appetizer, main and dessert. It was 37 euros per person which I found very reasonable. We had eels and chicken for appetizer, duck and fish for main and crunchy coffee and butternut squash tart for dessert. All the dishes were appetizing and delicious! They had many different ingredients on each dish that worked well together. Service was fast and English friendly. I'd definitely come back when I come to Paris next time.

We are in Paris and it is hard right now find a place to eat without reservations. The restaurant is 500 feet from our hotel and we were fortunate to get a same day reservation. We tried the tasting menu, it was 5 dishes, $89/person, wine pairing is $54 for 5 glasses, water is not free, distilled water was $7/bottle. Food was delicious, service was great. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved our dinner at Eels a little over a month ago! Was perhaps our favorite dinner in Paris! Every single one of the courses was incredibly flavorful and well balanced. The fish and pork we had was perfectly cooked -- super tender and buttery. Our waiter was very kind and spoke English. We also the intimate and romantic ambiance. We'll be back when we're next in town!

I'm not a big fan of tasting menus, but my wife loves it. One good thing is that she's always dragging me to awesome places and so is Eels. Super professional service. Sensational food. Even I liked the eel and duck, and I usually don't order such dishes. Wine recommendations with the dishes were spot on. An overall fantastic experience.

Food here is beautiful and delicious! I have eaten here twice and very impressed both times. Definitely get the fixed price menu so you can try different menu items. Can't wait to return!

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

Like others have said, it's super small inside, so you'll get to know your neighbors really well. But your attention will be more focused on the food they bring out. I had the lamb with thyme sauce and my wife had the confit duck leg. Don't be afraid to pick the sauce of the day over the regular honey sauce. The sauce of the day on the day we went was a blackberry sauce which was crazy good. With a bottle of wine at 24 euros and both entrees under 20 euros, you couldn't really beat a meal of that quality in many places around Paris for that price. It was only after I ate at Le Potager did I see it had a bunch of great reviews on Yelp. It's definitely earned all those stars.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location.
