So after seeing people rave about it, I finally tried the Eegee's breakfast burrito. I had the Sonaran burrito. It has eggs, cheese, chorizo, jalapeños, Chipotle ranch, and salsa. I was both disappointed and pleasantly surprised by this burrito. I'll explain. First off, it's super weird when people say things like "authentic" and "high quality" when referring to places we know have corporate fast food. High quality items rarely exist. This burrito I've seen described as having "high quality" chorizo, and "authentic tortilla". Well, neither are true. The tortilla was average, nothing bad, but nothing great, it was warmed, but that's it. The chorizo was good, yes, but "high quality" is a stretch. I will say it is better than your average store bought chorizo and had a good flavor. But calling it high quality is egregiously off. I also saw people comment about how it was "big". It's not. It's about averaged sized for the pricing. It's about the size of the Del Taco breakfast burritos(the large ones). It's also smaller than nearly every other burrito you can get in this city. Even if I say "for the price" the Del Taco breakfast burrito is half the price of this. Granted, it's not good, but to make it seem like you're getting this amazingly sized burrito here, feels like I was lied to. It's not to say it was small. But it certainly wasn't filled up. I got a couple layers of just tortilla in all my bites(you can see that in one of the photos). Which, considering it WASN'T an 'authentic' tortilla, I didn't like. Anyway, the positives. The ranch, jalapeños, and salsa together were a great flavor. They complimented each other well. I was very impressed with the flavor profile considering it was Eegee's. The chorizo had a good flavor, a bit smoky in the background and not too salty. It paired well with the sauces and cheese. The eggs were VERY fluffy. I could just do an egg and cheese burrito to be honest, and probably love that. Eggs were solid, considering they were liquid eggs(I'm pretty sure). I had cheese in almost every bite. It was put together well also. All in all, I'd give it a solid 7/10. I was mainly disappointed because people overhype EVERYTHING here, and I kinda knew that, but when putting that aside, it's a good burrito. Will it change your life? No. But it's a solid option if you have $10 bucks and not a lot of time. I will go so far as to say that this burrito is better tasting and put together than their sandwich options. Anyway, it's worth trying. NOTE: this is mostly about the breakfast option, I will post another review(when I go back) to talk about my overall experiences at this location. read more

So this is my first time trying eegees. These weren't really a thing in Phoenix till very recently and my friend from Tucson recommended I try this. I chose this location based on distance from the highway and plus it's near the Lisa Frank Building. I walked into a ghost town and it almost seemed like the staff was annoyed I was there. I ordered a strawberry eegee fizz and some fries. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with the fizz. Maybe I should have done a full slush but it didn't have flavor. Them not having customers during prime dinner time made me skip trying anything other the fries. The girl wrote drive safe on my bag so she probably saw my Texas license plate. I love Eegee's at any location but I had a great experience at this one! The cashier was SOOOO friendly and just seemed like he was in a legitimately good mood to be there. Was pleasantly surprised that Mango Eegees were permanently on the menu. I used to wait for the summer month to buy it. But so disappointed today. First the mango drink is clear like the lemon choice. The minuscule pieces of mango do nothing for the drink and it now it all tastes like a sugar water Eegee. First time in Tucson, so wanted to try this. Not impressed! My salad was made with old lettuce, we asked for the Buffalo ranch for regular ranch. (Wish I took a pic). The lettuce was black. My daughters kids meal had like 5 fries in and the hot dog is not like it's pictured. They cut a piece of bread from the sandwich and call it a hot dog. Def was expecting more from this place. This review is only for the eegee's frozen fruit slushes....I have not tried the subs yet (kinda iffy on them) or the fries, which I have to admit I am curious about the ranch fries and pizza fries (say what).... Eegee's...what a name (apparently it is a combo of the originator's initials). It started out as a food vending truck and now is a 23 store chain! 7-11, 7-11 who? That is how I feel after trying the fresh fruit frozen slush here. I had the lemon. Which had the perfect balance of tart, sweet and sour........prob. because it is natural! No rock gut here from sugar laden syrups and cloying sour additives. It had a light and delicate flavor. My favorite part was the "ribbons" of fresh lemon rind....so refreshing, a perfect palate cleanser. And they do not skimp on the rind....but don't let that turn you away, just try it! I am also super curious about the ice teagee's....freshly brewed tea mixed with your favorite eegee. I'm imagining a super hero powered arnold palmer! And then it just would be fast food if it was all natural, so why not try the eegee's fizz! Mix your favorite eegee's with any soda. I'm sure I will love it as well. The normal flavors are lemon, pina colada, and strawberry. There is one flavor that rotates monthly. Eegees is always consistently good at every location. The employees are friendly and helpful. All their sandwiches are great and the their fruit slush speaks for itself. Don't forget to have an Eegee Fizz once in a while. I don't like their tuna salad because they make it southern style with sweet pickles - nasty. This time we on had the frozen eegees. The kids love them. My favorite is the iced teagee. They always have a flovor of the month. Wish they were keep the tangerine around. Its the best. You can get party packs which come with everything you need to take this anywhere. You get cups, serving spoon, spoons and it comes in a Styrofoam ice chest. I use them for classroom party treats and they always enjoy them. Its been a long time since I've had the food so will have to wait to comment on that. I have been eating at Eegee's for 45 years and have never had bad food. My sub that I ordered today was not bad, it was ugly. I ordered their Slam Dunk special, a 5 inch roast beef with cheese and au jus and a small fry. Because the fries weren't cooked they had me pull around the corner for 3-4 minutes to wait. I got my order it was all crammed into a small bag. When I got home the au jus lid was off of the container and it had all spilled out. The paper around the sub it was completely smashed with all of the cheese stuck to the paper. There was meat on only half of the sub. The fries mush have been the bottom of the bag, all were 1 - 1.5 inches long. And I paid $7.41 for this !!!! read more

Yum, Yum, Yum! I've spent the past 5 springs in Tucson and never went to Eegees. I went for the first time last week and have already returned. Their roast beef is so good. The staff was very patient when explaining everything to me (what's a grinder? Italian style with peppers and onions, what's a fizz? a icey with Sierra Mist). I haven't had the fries, but people rave about them. If you want a great sandwich (especially roast beef) then stop here! My dad had the pastrami and said it was very good, but not as good as Togo's hot pastrami. read more

I have a deep love for eegees. The food is diverse and great vegetarian options. I always get a lemon Teagee and fries. I love eegees in general and would give it at least four stars but this location in particular frustrates me. It being the closest one to my house it is often the one I go to, but I often dread this one. I STRONGLY suggest that you make sure your order is correct before you leave (even if it is just eegees). This location is very busy almost all the time and this causes them to mess up orders. 4 out of 5 Times there is something wrong or missing from our order. The parking lot has about thirty spaces similar to any fast food eatery. The place was quite empty on my particular visit. I was greeted as I walked into the eatery and placed my order with the cashier. I ordered a salami sub. The cashier asked me if I wanted fries and I told her yes please. After placing my order, I looked at the menu and noticed fries were not included into my meal, but normally a separate charge besides the sub itself. At this point, I was upset at how the cashier failed to mention fries were not included into my meal combo. The food took about ten-fifteen minutes to make, but worth it. The taste of the sub was fresh and the bread was presently tasty. The subs taste really fresh. There is something about these subs that make me just think of "freshness" right after taking a bite. Not to mention, the subs are huge! Regardless if you get the 5', 8' or 12' all sizes are huge and packed with fresh ingredients. I recommend, if you are ever in Arizona and your craving a sub sandwich try Egee's they'll keep you happy!
