This was my first time at culvers. It was delicious. I got the 10 pc shrimp dinner. This came with fries, a bread roll, and a really good coleslaw. The shrimp was fried perfectly. Still good and juicy in the middle and they gave a good amount of fries and slaw. It was plenty of food, i wasnt able to finish it all so I took it to go. I also got a medium mixer with heath and Reeses it was also delicious. Im happy I tried it. Stopped in for dinner with our family Sunday night around 6pm. Lots of open seating available. Plenty of parking as well. Last April, their pot roast which was close to 20 bucks, had no carrots, celery etc that usually comes with a pot roast but it was the smallest amount of meat on top of soggy white bread.We called in about it and they said they that's how it usually comes now disregarding how we've gotten it in the past and that they'd comp a meal. Then, we had the next time we came we tried order shrimp in place but they said they couldn't do that because A:it had been too long(they didn't give an expiration date) and B: it would have to be the same meal. We explained we talked to the manager on the phone that we'd never want that meal again and they said they'd comp a meal. The manager said they talked with the person we talked to about it. We said we'd never get the pot roast again to them because it was disappointing and not what we'd gotten in the past. So, we just paid for the meal and just went on our way after the longest time of being in the drive through. Then, they forgot the coleslaw of one of our meals when we pulled over to eat. We went inside and told them it was missing and they didn't believe it! So, after going back out and getting the bag to show them, by that time, the younger coworker confessed he forgot to put it in. Then, just today, we ordered a meal and the coleslaw was spoiled! We called in and the manager said they just got on shift and apologized for the spoiled coleslaw but did NOTHING about it. We know this is not Culver's values and know it's not how the owner would want this restaurant to operate. We hope there are some changes for the better from this establishment because it has sadly, declined in customer service, food quality, and order accuracy. read more

This Culver's was packed at 11 am. Mostly seniors. I was there for the Northwoods Walleye dinner, a special during Lent. The portion was generous. The fish was hot, very moist, with a crunchy batter. They have a great tartare sauce. I got crinkle cut fries and slaw for the sides. read more

While we have enjoyed ice cream cones at Culver's Broadway location numerous times and have tried their cod fish and chips, this was our first time at the 1st Ave location. Based on the recommendation from a friend, we tried the walleye fish and chips. The ambiance and service were good and the establishment was clean. As to the walleye, I couldn't tell the difference between the regular cod and the walleye. My wife, who is a mid-western native, could distinguish a difference, but still prefers the cod. Maybe my old taste buds aren't what they used to be. The portions were generous. Frozen fries are just that, frozen and reheated. The slaw was good. The roll was disappointing. Deluxe Double Burger was delicious. Restaurant was roomy, clean, and servers professional, lots of diners and drive thru was packed on a weekday evening. Almost didn't stop in due to the recent 1 star review but the bathrooms at Rillito Park (soccer practice drop off) were closed, and locals know the sewer smells are just totally random near the wash, and usually weather-related. Slightly pricey at $8.47 after tax (but no optional tip screen)- a solid 4+ stars for a comfortable sit down restaurant. One of the servers even cleared my table! read more

Saw this place and had to try! Of course, I ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Some had yellow cheese, others with white cheese. I really like coming here for their veggie burger. It's one of the only fast food places I can drop in and get a nice burger. And honestly, they probably have the best service of any fast food like restaurant I've ever been to. Every time I walk in, they are so incredibly friendly. I have no one to blame but myself for being back at Culver's. In my defense, the food is really good and it's around the block so . . . My issue is the customer service. This time we received all of the ordered food EXCEPT the TOP of the roll for the fish sandwich. I didn't even bother to call because I'm sure I'd be told again to come back and get it. This location has some major sewer problems. When you walk in all you can smell is sewer. It's overwhelming. We walked to the back to try to see if the smell was any better in the back of the restaurant and they have air fresheners in all the plugs. I don't think i have ever seen an air freshener in a restaurant. So they're just trying to mask the smell instead of addressing the real problem. Would never eat at this location again, unless they fix the sewer problems they're having. I do not recommend going to this one. read more

I have never tried Culver's before and had no expectations considering it is a fast food burger spot. I was pleasantly surprised! They have a lot that helps them stand out from their competitors and their quality is definitely noticeable. They have fresh tasting ingredients and their buns are awesome thick and fluffy and don't fall apart like bk. But also not super fake tasting like McDonalds. Their bacon on the burger was nice and thick with tons of flavor unlike the shriveled up, chewy, thin junk you see at most fast food burger restaurants. Their onion rings had great flavor and fry oil seemed very clean and didn't have a nasty aftertaste. This location is easy to get to with lots of parking and the inside looks very clean and nice. The cashier was very nice and even gave me a suggestion and I loved it!! Overall this place deserves a better rating than it has. I would definitely come back! Anything inside the burgers you can taste the freshness, flavor is always there ! Fries are always good. I like to get mine well done. My favorite side on their menu are their pretzel bites with their Wisconsin cheese sauce. It is by far addicting and makes you want more and more ! I went to Culver's on River and 1st a little over two weeks ago and came home with a salad that had a lettuce stem in it. I called to complain. The manager took my name, address and phone number and said he would send out a coupon for a free meal. It was to take only two days. I never received it. Today I patrol's the manager at the restaurant drive through and she said she would talk to the higher up managers and call me back. She did not. So I decided to post this picture here. I've eaten at Culver's many times and had the fish sandwich many times stopped at this location today and my fish sandwich came out with a real thin piece of fish in the middle of a huge piece of batter I made a comment to one of the workers and she took the fish sandwich back said they would remake it then brought my same sandwich back and said that's the way they're going to come out our batteries reacting with our oil What an excuse I would think that the manager would make sure if the oil needed to be changed so the quality of the food was what the corporate office wants people to see he would do so or she I'm not sure if it's just this location because we just had this walleye sandwich last Friday at a different location and it was beautiful. This is the cleanest, friendliest, and nicest Culver's I've been in. We stopped by for a quick bite and when we walked in the front door we were immediately acknowledged with smiles and a "hello, wel come to Culver's". The owner, Edward Norton, was extra attentive, making sure we had what we needed at our table. As we were enjoying our lunch, Mr. Norton came by with a frozen custard "because they made one to many". Staff is polite and friendly. Love the plant based burger! Very moist with plenty of lettuce and fix-ins. I also enjoy the fries cooked crispy and the green beans when they have it. Another favorite of our is the fish dinner alway crispy outside with tender flaky fish inside. Perfect with come slaw and very filling.
