    My chicken soft taco
    Karen W.

Ordered a soft chx taco. It was so so... it barely had cheese and it was pulled chicken meat slathered in a red sauce / base. I was disappointed. The soft tortilla wasn't warm and honestly the taste was bland & the chx tasted funny The chips were good though

    Where's the carne asada?
    Parker M.

Used to be one of my favorites. They recently started skimping on their ingredients..Carne asada burrito is over priced for the size. Also they started charging .75 cents for salsa that is only half full.

They are very inconsistent. Today I paid $12 for this TINY breakfast burrito. It's usually double the size. Very disappointed and feel ripped off.

a sign in the window of a restaurant
    Lyndsey E.

Nico's has been my go to breakfast burrito at various locations around town but this location can be inconsistent. They're currently charging $8.99 for a burrito, which is high compared to other places like Pacos or Barista del Barrio. They always add up charges.. but you don't find out until after you order and they have a random sign on the window. It'd be nice just to know up front what the cost will be.

Stopped for a quick lunch. Mediocre food; plain rice & beans, over cooked pork carnitas, dried out old tortillas. I will not be back.

Love this place for good Mexican fast food. It's good for what it is. Breakfast burritos with a little salsa are my favorite.

Unfortunately, Guadalajara is one of these places. What I like: This restaurant can accommodate well over 100 diners without sacrificing service. Food only took 20 minutes during a dinner rush. I appreciate a well-oiled machine. I will admit, the salsa gimmick is charming. What needs work: Just because there's tableside salsa does not mean it's good. I have never seen anyone use so much cilantro! The drinks are mid--the jalapeno margarita uses the mildest peppers in the universe, and surprise! It's somehow also loaded with cilantro. I excitedly went for the biggest, most famous burrito on the menu and it just has too many ingredients (beans, rice, bacon, shrimp, carne asada) to work. They were too ambitious with this one. My bad. I can see this as a really fun place to take a large group from out of town. I bet if you come from the Midwest (it is full of snowbirds from the Midwest), this is mind-blowingly good. By Arizona standards, however, there are just too many old-timey places that simply do everything better.

The entire restaurant was packed with energy, music, and people enjoying the celebration, but it still managed to keep that classic Tucson charm and authentic Sonoran feel that has made El Charro such an iconic spot for over 100 years. The ambience downtown was fantastic, especially with the historic setting and the excitement throughout the evening. Cinco de Mayo brought an extra level of energy to the restaurant, with a lively crowd, great music, and a fun atmosphere that made the night feel like a true celebration. Even with how busy it was, the staff worked hard to keep things moving and remained friendly throughout the night. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and you can tell why El Charro has become such a Tucson staple over the years. The carne seca continues to stand out as one of the signature dishes in the city, and the traditional Sonoran-style flavors really make the experience unique. The margaritas and drinks were also a highlight and paired perfectly with the festive Cinco de Mayo atmosphere. Between the food, drinks, music, and the energy of downtown Tucson, it felt like one of the best places in the city to celebrate the holiday. Overall, El Charro Cafe delivered a memorable Cinco de Mayo experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and the kind of Tucson history and culture that keeps people coming back year after year.

The cheese crisp was another standout, especially with all the topping options. The ambiance on the patio with the twinkle lights is so adorable and cozy. I highly recommend grabbing one of the seats with the huge cushions, they are unbelievably comfortable and make the whole experience even better. Spacious patio area, with cool lights, umbrellas, and many tables. If you have a choice and it isn't too hot, sit outside. The food is stellar! The rest of the table (3 more) ordered the green chicken enchiladas. They didn't need to rave about it: their plates were completely clean at the end of the meal! Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
