Nicos is the only place in Tucson that I enjoy. The only complain that I have (and I do wish the owners read this), is the lack of consistency. I always get the red sauce and the carne asada burrito. Sometimes I get a lot of meat and no guacamole, sometimes I get the perfect amount of meat and guacamole. Sometimes the red sauce is not spicy; sometimes the red sauce is too spicy. Overall, Nicos is great and I have always enjoyed their meal. However, lack of consistency can be a problem for some guests. read more

This was my first time here and I really didn't know what to order - anything that has the word "super" and the word "fries" in it, I have to give it a shot. I decided to go with the Super Fries and to add icing to the cake, I asked for extra fries. It ended up being $12.50 and ended up being an ENORMOUS amount of food! There was plenty of cheese, plenty of pico, meat, sour cream, I couldn't complain one bit. I would definitely recommend going with the fan favorite (Super Fries) but if you don't have more than two or three people, you might want to back off the ask for extra fries ($3). Just a side note, as much as I enjoyed my food there, one thing you will notice is they charge extra for pretty much everything. Salsa (extra), beans (extra), Conversation (extra). Just make sure you know what you are paying for in the event you ask for something extra, however; this was not a deal breaker for me. I'll be back! read more

Meh. My husband *loves* Nico's and constantly craves them. I don't share the same sentiment. I've had them screw up too many times when I've gotten food from there, such as ordering a carnitas burrito and finding it full of gross half-frozen French fries. Yummy, I know. :-/ Today I was thinking about tacos for lunch and originally wanted Taco Bell (Del Taco is better but further away) but we compromised on Nico's. Okay, fine. It's close. And I'm going to have a carne asada and cheese quesadilla. You can't screw THAT up. Challenge accepted, said the folks at Nico's. Nico's is awesome for quick Mexican food. I taught at an Elementary School nearby and used to do runs to this location to pick up lunch for my coworkers and I. The drive thru is always quick and efficient and I have yet to have them make a mistake on our order, which is great. I have to say the carne asada burrito is amazing. The meat is cheap but good, there's lots of cheese, and the burrito itself is HUGE. It's the type of meal that tastes great while you eat it and then start to regret immediately upon finishing since your stomach feels like it's going to burst. But it's worth it. My coworkers would swear by Nico's rolled tacos (though I haven't tried them myself) and the red salsa that you can get on the side is spicy and delicious. All in all, it works well for a quick and filling lunch option. read more

He's been surprised to get cheddar cheese instead of queso fresco is chihuahua cheese like he's used to with authentic Mexican food. It was large but wasn't cut into slices. He was able to save some for leftovers. I had the carne asada. It was okay. I gave the leftovers to my son; there was plenty of steak, rice and beans left for another meal. Almost 45$ for 2 burritos and super fries. & the girl in the drive through wouldn't give us more than 6 salsas. She had the worst attitude & acted like we were off the street begging for food, then the guy from the back came to the window practically yelling at us saying only 2 salsas per item!!!! Give me a break after spending that much money on just okay food, you could have given us more salsa!!!! I will not be going back, especially because you all were so rude. Nico's brings me back to high school days and crushing carne asada burritos into the wee hours of the morning. Granted it's in a different location now but, the food hasn't skipped a beat. In a recent late night stop, I ordered a carne asada burrito with refried beans and it was glorious. The tortilla has always been one of the stars of the show at Nico's and I was glad to see that it hadn't changed all that much. This people shouln't be in the food business. The employees and specially the owners have the worst attitude. They treated me like if I was asking for free food. They seem to be in a bad mood the few times I have been there. The "tacos" were cold, the tortillas stale and the meat way too salty. I went with my coworker for lunch and when we told them about the issues they were rude, saying they would not refund our money bcse we tasted the food. Of course we had to tasted! that's how it works: the customer has to taste the product in order to check the flavors and quality.
