Hubby and I have been coming to Snowflakes for over a year now, and it continues to be a solid spot…read morefor us. Our first Snowflakes experience was at a catered halo halo event at Bret Harte Library in Long Beach. Though since they didn't have vegan halo-halo, they offered Dole Whip. After that event, we learned about the brick-and-mortar in Artesia. Located in a plaza, look for the parol in the window :) Full transparency, we often end up at Snowflakes when our usual açai bowl spots are closed since Snowflakes is open until 9pm. The location is out of the way for us, but we'll make the drive because we know it's good! I always get the ube base. Most of the ingredients are plant-based, and the staff has helped let us know what isn't (like the ube chia pudding). One thing that Snowflakes has that I don't often see anywhere else is Ghirardelli dark chocolate sauce (yes, it's vegan!) https://bit.ly/4wzt1VW The store itself is bright, clean, and has a modest amount of tables/seats for dining in. Parking can be a bit crowded, but not impossible.

I came upon Snowflakes which served the Filipino dessert, halo-halo. It would be very reminiscent of the sweet treats my parents would have their early dates way back in Philippines. After I had reserved for their halo-halo services, my sister's friends who lived locally raved how delicious their halo-halo were! Snowflakes' halo-halo truly lived up to their reputation! Riley who helped serve during the event was very kind & professional. The halo-halos were still fresh and flavorful. Kevin, who I believe to be the owner, answered my questions and was easily accessible to contact via email / text. If only I lived locally, I wouldn't hesitate to have them cater our daughter's upcoming birthday! 5 stars all the way!

I was…read morepleasantly surprised that the store nearly full and about half of the patrons were non-Chinese, it's great that more and more people are discovering authentic Taiwanese food. We usually come here for Taiwanese bento and beef noodle soup, and we decided to try something different this time, and everything was good. The highlight was definitely the stinky Tofu, it was perfectly fried and with a nice "stinky" smell, and it was very good. Ok this one is probably not for beginners, as it is likely an acquired taste. The thick noodles was soothing and just what we needed. The satay hot pot was very good, we had enough to bring home and continue to enjoy the next day. I called it a "themed" restaurant because the store was originally modeled after an elementary school 3rd grade classroom, the chairs, tables, bulletin board and blackboard, even the menu is sort of what you might find at a school cafeteria (of course much more fancy), there is a nostalgic, cute feeling for those of us grew up in Taiwan. For everyone else, it's a nice touch if you are into these cultural stuff.
