I had been bringing my 2017 Infiniti Q60 to the Infiniti dealership for maintenance from 2021-2022. I was not satisfied with the service as I brought my car in for an oil change one day and was called to be told my passenger-side low & high beam light was out. I asked how much it would cost to repair/replace, and was told "it will be around $1,800 only for the labor, we need to disassemble your whole front bumper to even get to the light bulb, if that even is the issue, to replace it". I declined the job as I was astounded at the price and was told "just know it will fail inspection in its current state". After doing some research I decided to give Edwin Auto a call as I needed the oil change, with the hope they would find the light issue and provide a cheaper alternative. They not only found the issue, but determined it wasn't the bulb that was faulty, but a module... All at no charge. They asked that I order the new replacement module ($80) and replaced it for $160. My Infiniti is now working perfectly and passed inspection. Attached is the $1800 bogus recommendation from the dealership as well as the $160 charge from Edwin that actually resolved the issue. $1,800 (probably more) versus $240. read more

Took my car on Monday morning for a second opinion on my 2005 sienna AWD for a noise coming from rear. Previous shop told me i had to replace the entire rear differential. I took it to Edwin Monday morning and got it diagnosed to be a bad wheel bearing not a bad differential as the other shop told me. They had it ready by Tuesday afternoon. I had many mechanics before and somebody refer to me about Edwin, at the beginning I wade skeptical but decided to give a try. My car had a serious problem and the budget I received from another mechanic was expensive for my opinion so I decided to look for other options; then I went to see Edwin and after he looked at my car gave me and my wife and explanation on what was the issue and 'solutions' when he said the price I was shocked it was much lower than the budget from my previous mechanic and of course the dealership; then I decided to change. I have been coming here for the best part of ten years. You can expect courteous service and honest pricing. I don't take my car anywhere else since I found this outfit. They are busy pretty much all the time and the fact they have expanded to about three times the size they were a few years ago is a testament to their service and satisfied customers. Recently, I was told that I needed brake work by a place that did my oil change and inspection using a Groupon. Edwin confirmed that one of the rear calipers, pad and rotor was damaged and recommended replacing them. I was also told that my front rotors needed to be replaced because their thickness was below the legal minimum. Edwin said they were fine and did not need replacement. This was in line with the safety inspection that was done three months earlier when this was never raised as an issue. read more

I have brought my car to Edwin's Auto Repair only two times. The first time I brought my car, I had an oil leak that needed to be fixed. Two weeks later, my car starts leaking oil again, and when I brought it back for them to fix what should have been fixed before, they ended up saying it was a different problem. So I basically wasted my money to get something that didn't needed to be fixed. The second time I brought my car, my check engine light was on, and I told them to please fix whatever needed to be fixed so that my car can work properly again. The first time they called, they told me that the idle air control valve and the emissions coil needed to be replaced, and I said fine go ahead. They called me back a few hours later saying that instead of fixing the idle air valve, they were going to replace the PCV valve. When I picked up my car, I didn't even have a week before my engine light came on again. I was furious, because I had paid a lot of money to get this problem fixed, and they didn't fix it. When I bring my car to an auto shop and ask them to fix a problem, I expect them to fix it and not causing me more problems. Now I have to pay more for something that Should have been fixed in the beginning. This is the last time I'm ever going to bring my car there, and if you want to get a problem fixed with your car, I Do NOT suggest going to this place! read more

Ok, this is my 2nd time writing this review, not sure what happened to the 1st. But here it goes. I've been a faithful customer of Edwins for the past 5 years. Friendly staff and they used to do real good work at reasonable prices. Recently I took my car in to get the brakes replaced. They told me I needed rotors, so I purchased them and all they were to do was to replace the brakes and rotors. Picked my car up, and now when I apply brakes it pulls to the side. Took it back and they gave me recommendations on what may fix the problem ( an additional $500) after I've already paid close to 400 for brakes. Come on now $1,000 for brakes!!! Took my car to get a second opinion, and the mechanic immediately saw that it was a contaminated/clogged hose that Edwins did not properly install. They replaced it, and now the car brakes and stops fine. My son also had Edwins look at his brakes ( not replace them, just inspect them) Now his car is doing the same thing mine was doing. When we took it back, they refused to fix it properly and gave us recommendations of over $1,100 worth of brake work. My thoughts. Although they are nice people, the work they have recently performed on my car and my sons vehicle is less than standard and I had to go elsewhere to get it done properly, plus pay extra money. I believe Edwin has hired a bunch of new kids in training to perform work that's less than par. My advice, take you vehicle elsewhere. read more

I have never had such an amazing visit to an autotech. First I went to VA Tire and Auto. they told me that my battery was bad and that there were some other repairs that came out to be almost a grand, just to pass safety inspection. I on the other hand have worked in auto repair a long time ago, so I knew that couldn't be right. So from a good friend and employee recommendation, I went to Edwin Auto Repair for a second opinion. Matt, told me that my repairs would be 85 percent less than what the quote was from VA Tire and Auto. He told me and showed me what repairs needed to be done. Matt also gave me a sheet saying what needed to be repaired and how much it was. Needless to say, I will never, EVER go to VA Tire and Auto or any other autotech again. Simply frauds. I sold them my car for salvage for 150$ (they told me it's not repairable, which I doubt, but I was forced to agree, because my car broke 300 miles from home on vacation), and never got the money. read more

I will start off by saying that this is my first review ever written. Since I was able to work, I have worked in industries where contact with people is a must. I could get into my resume but it would be timely, instead I will say that I have a strong background in customer services and satisfaction. On Friday January 20 I brought my mother's car in for an estimate. I needed an estimate to get the radio fix, the front bumper fix, the passenger's side headlight fix, I also asked for an estimate to fix the molding on the top of the car leading toward the engine. By Saturday I received a call that they had fixed the radio. I was extremely upset by this because not only did it take them about 24 hours to inform me of this but they did it without my consent. Luckily it was just $25. I proceeded to ask them for an estimate again and they quoted me $447, this included: the radio which was already fixed (without my consent), the front bumper (and they said it would already be painted to match the color) and the headlight as well as the molding. I thought this was a great sale! Better than my own mechanic I thought. By Monday January 23 they informed me that it would take about 3 days for them to complete the work as it would take at least 1 day for them to receive the bumper. My family and I agreed so they ordered. We brought the car by Wednesday and by Thursday January 26 I get a call saying that the bumper is in but it did not completely matched the body paint. They informed me that it would be an additional $250 to blend the paint. As one can imagine I was livid and I should have used my better judgement from early on and told them no. I was able to "negotiate" the price down by $50. However they quoted me a price of $700+ (which included the bumper+blended paint, the radio and they decide to tell me that they had to "fix" the headlight and it was just not a bulb change something that they proceeded to do without my consent for the second time). I discussed with my family and expressed my frustration but because it was well needed we decided to go with it. What's important to mentioned here is that a gentleman who identified himself as Edwin multiple times over the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful. However the other gentleman that I mainly worked with was much better. There were a couple of times where Edwin rushed me off the phone and I was told that I would get a call back every time I asked something they were insured off, but I only got 1 call back during those 2 weeks after asking for a call back. Also my mom noticed that it seemed like her windshield had some scratches and she send me a picture, this is something that neither of us noticed since we just looked at everything else. It looked like scratches and I contacted them via phone, of course no one was available to speak with me at the time. This was the only time that I urged them and stressed to them to please make sure to give me a call back. This is the only phone call in which they actually called me back. We arrive on Friday 24 to get my mom's car. We are told that the estimate did not include the molding and that would cost an additional $60 but then after checking again it would cost and additional $77. My mom wanted to do it. Besides we were told to come back on Saturday February 4 since the "cap" in the bumper broke and they had to order another one. They told me that it would not be an additional charge and that it would take about 30 minutes for them to put the cap and the molding. Fast forward to Saturday February 4, we arrived today around 10am. We were reminded that the safety inspection just expired last month but they forgot to tell us and we lost track of it dealing with this issues. They asked if we wanted to do it so my mom agreed. 3 hours later we are still here waiting. I was just told that the cap for the bumper would take about an additional hour to dry. We are still here and I believe we just paid an additional $100 so from a $400 quote we ended up paying double. Since I started driving and taking my cars to the mechanic 14 years ago, I have not had such a terrible experience. They are unprofessional, unorganized, they lack customer service, and knowledge. Lessons that I have learned: 1) Take your first way out. I did not like how they fixed the radio without my consent and when I thought this was wrong I still decided to stay there. 2) Negotiate from the beginning. I believe that I could have gotten the original $447 quote for about $50 less. 3) Use your trust worthy mechanic. I should have taken my mom's car to my mechanic who quoted me about $400 for the job but it was about 45 minute drive. I would have been absolutely okay with the price going up some because I trust him. 4) Ride a review when you have such experiences. Even if it might be an isolated incident and their only blunder make sure you do your part to inform others. read more

took my car in for something simple later found out they lost my key, broke the door handle off and couldn't work on my car for a whole day. then when leaving found out that the lights on my car didn't work so I had to take it back and get them to fix it and then also found a huge scratch on the passenger side door where I guess it banged into the lift when one of them was opening the door I know I could have argued for them to fix it but my car is old anyways. but I still fell like its a shame I went in to get something simple fixed and they practically treated my car like they were a bunch of high school kids. read more
