After 10 years of frustrating experiences with Merchant's, VA Tire & Auto and Good Year I have finally found a trustworthy professional auto repair shop. These guys were courteous, HONEST, fast, very affordable and overall the best customer experience I've ever had in N. Virginia regarding auto work. Every other shop in Ashburn works on commission, upsells and leaves you with the feeling you paid too much, or paid for unnecessary work. These guys are the real deal and value honesty and integrity first and foremost. Their repair was flawless and the price was 30% less expensive than competitors. Not the same shop it used to be. Been going here a few years for both mine and my wife's car and felt they were the most trusted shop in the area. Recently brought in my car because the clutch wasn't working and suspected it was the master cylinder. Barry called me and said that it was actually the clutch and that it'd be a $1600 best case (if the flywheel didn't also fail he said.) Never heard of a flywheel and clutch all of a sudden failing at the same time and had a bad feeling. So I took it home and pulled it apart myself and saw nothing wrong with either the clutch or flywheel. Looked at the master cylinder and it was clearly broken in nearly two pieces. Either the mechanic that looked at was extremely under-qualified and has no business working on anyone's car, or, they simply were trying to rip me off and have no business working on anyone's car. I'm not going to say the good reviews are fake because I easily would've given them praise for work they've done in the past, but it's definitely not the same shop anymore. I think they may have had staff changes because I haven't seen any of the same people working that I used to see on previous jobs. Obviously, we won't be bringing our cars back here again. If anyone knows of any good honest shops in the area, please post. read more

I can't say enough good things about David and Jason at Perfection. Honest and competent. Just replaced the timing belt, water pump, etc in a 2005 Kia with 200k miles on it and hoping to do another 200k before getting a new car. Sure beats a car payment! read more

Ran into trouble the other day when my car completely shut down on the side of the Dulles Toll Road. My light was on E but I've driven it further below the line before. I searched for shops in the area where I could get towed to and Perfection got great reviews so I told the driver to take me there. I was worried when calling because I know the reputation of car repair establishments - my experience is that once they've got you they run the price up. I asked how much it would be to diagnose my car and I was shocked when the gentleman said "We wont charge you - we're happy to take a look at it." It was as if he knew my stress. When I got onsite they looked at my car in 10 minutes and said it was likely out of gas. With 215,000 miles on my car I was convinced it was more than that. They Said they were sending someone to get the gas and hed be back in 10 minutes. They charged me the cost of the gas. Not a penny more. I was so shocked I insisted on paying for their time but I was told "we are happy to help and our model is building trust and taking care of our customers". Everyone I see now I've told the story to. I will continue to recommend Perfection Automotive and anyone who is wondering about repair shops. They turned something I almost had a heart attack into one of the best car experiences I've ever had. read more

I recently bought new tires from Tire Rack and had them installed by Perfection. I recently had them rotated as they were wearing faster in my front-wheel drive Camry SE V6. I was also concerned about a slight vibration above 60 mph. Andrew diligently rebalanced each tire and the vibration is practically gone. YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN PERFECTION! They have been working on my vehicles since my very first vehicle when I was 16 years old. About a dozen vehicles later -- from my "hobby" cars to my everyday cars -- they have worked on them for me. I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY trust these guys. They will NOT rip you off. There was a time when I was expecting a huge bill of around $1000, but they were honest and said it wasn't a big deal to fix and I ended-up with a bill less than $100. They are fair and honest and do GREAT work. These guys KNOW their cars. From my old Fiat to my new Lexus -- and in between that, my old Plymouth, my old Chrysler, my old Camaro, and my show car with thousands of dollars invested -- they have done it all for me. Danny and the guys are honest and communicate with you what they are doing and why. They found that a prior shop had incorrectly balanced the truck and Perfection Auto fixed it the right way. I took my truck in to get my AC fixed. When I turn on the AC, heat would come out of the drivers side and ac out of the passenger side. I took the truck into Perfection Automotive and Dave used his programmer to fix the blend door problems. A couple of weeks later when I turned on the ac, heat would come from the passenger side and ac from the drivers side. I brought my truck back in and Dave said that the blend door actuator behind the dash needed to be replaced. The charge is$1,100 for parts and labor. I dropped my truck off a couple days later and they "replaced" (so they say) the blend door actuator. A couple of weeks later I started having the same ac problems, heat from the passenger side and ac from the drivers side. I called the shop up and they said to bring the truck back in and they would look at the truck again. Then they immediately proceeded to tell me that if the problem was not the exact problem, then they would charge me all the labor to reopen the dash and for the new parts. I was frustrated and questioned why i would be charged for the labor seeing the original problem was never fixed. They informed me that they would give me a half hour free diagnostic. I brought my truck back in and they called and said that another blend door actuator needed to be replaced and it would cost $145 for parts and labor. I paid and left. Another 2 weeks later I began having the same problem. If I take it back they will tell me something else is bad and that I need to pay more money while the original problem never gets repaired. When I call the owner Dave gets mad because I am "questioning his work ethic" instead of fixing the ORIGINIAL problem. I will never take any vehicle back to Perfection Automotive and will tell everyone to go to a reputable shop that GUARANTEES and takes pride in their work. read more

Perfection was originally run by Jim, the father, who did much work for my family and never ripped us off. They did great work and were very reasonable about price. It is now operated by the son. My first visit with the son was about breaks not being smooth and squeaking. They cleaned my breaks and said there was nothing wrong at all. $195...to clean my breaks... Nothing was fixed. I took it back in a month or so later for general service and had them check the breaks again. They resurfaced my rotors and did the general service. $395... for oil, cabin filter, and rotors... My shifter broke. I did some research and found that it was a little plastic connector and maybe a shifter cable. Hint, if your shifter just moves around with no resistance and will not go into gear, it is probably your shifter, not your clutch or your transmission. I explained what was wrong with my car. They told me it was 100% the transmission. No way it could be the shifter. $1800 just for the transmission not for the work and thousands extra for any sort of warranty. It would take at least two weeks. I took it to Wiygul who said shifter cable and plastic connector and a whole bunch of other stuff. $900 just for the shifter work, extra for the other work. Two days if I pay an extra $30 to over night the parts. I took it too a guy recommended by a friend. It was just the plastic part, $273 total took less than a day, and my car runs perfect. read more
