I need some minor work done on my daughters car and looking at reviews I realized I never wrote one for previous work Joe and the team did a few years back. I murdered Bambi's dad with my Cayenne Turbo and it did a number as I was doing 60 mph (in a 55 zone). The issue is Porsche kept sending damaged radiators and instead of installing a slightly damaged one that I would never notice, they kept sending it back until the fourth one arrived undamaged. The work was impeccable and you could not tell a paint blend or that the car was not factory fresh. All parts were OEM and I would not hesitate to take all my cars to Edwards. We have a 2007 Yukon Denali that has seen better days. First, it's black and it has been hit multiple times but my husband procrastinated on getting the damage repaired because he was told by another repair shop YEARS ago that it would be $10k to repaint the entire vehicle. I was tired of looking at it so I decided to take action. I was referred to Edwards. I really appreciate them because they're straight shooters. They told us it would be $20k because of the cost of paint (which has gone up) and labor. Rather, he suggested I take the claim money, which I am entitled to, and get a Maaco paint job. He took into consideration the current miles and he said that the paint would last another 75-100,000 miles, which is probably what life the vehicle has left. Edwards, which previously did a fantastic job of installing a duck tail on a vintage Porsche 911, pulled a technician out of the garage who repaired the damage side step and installed both sides for $0 charge while I waited. Dull finish with noticeable texture, and color "match" darker than the rest of the car-which had a nicer finish. I debated whom to trust with this, being a former autobody guy myself. I'm at Edwards right now, waiting in their clean and comfortable waiting room. Since I walked through the door on the first day I have been impressed with the way the people here communicate. Very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The guys are heating my bumper up right now to hopefully pop it out and help my Volkswagen to look better. I was planning on just having it replaced, and they were more than happy to do that with OEM parts not offered by a different more 'corporate' shop in town (initials are CC). When I let the guy know that I was really short on $$ due to being out of work since my surgery he reviewed a couple of different, more cost affective options, with me. He was very informative and ultimately left the decision of which route to take up to me without any pressure to pick the more expensive option. I'll post a couple of pictures of the waiting area and of my bumper when they're finished. Keep in mind that I know it will not look like new or perfect by any means, but for my current budget I feel okay with living with the slight imperfections on my bumper I'm really satisfied with the results of this repair...definitely better than expected! Of course there's still some minor imperfections and some missing paint but a huge improvement from what it looked like before! Also, I noticed that there is some dust on the car that showed up in the pictures...take it from me, there is only minimal paint damage that mainly is the scratches and the picture doesn't do it enough justice. I had my car hit while parked in a parking lot recently. I called my insurance and they gave me a list of their guaranteed shops one of which was Edwards and also Kniesels. I called Kniesels first and they couldn't even get me in for an estimate for over a month and then said I wouldn't even be scheduled for the work for another 1-2 months after that. I then called Edwards and spoke to Dave. He said to come in the next day for an estimate. He said they could get all the work done in a matter of 4 days and for me to drop it off the following Monday. He even said that they would clean up some fogging I had in my front plastic headlight for free...now that's what I call going above and beyond for their customers! When I dropped it off I met the owner Joe and he was great. The shop was clean, well managed and very professional. Instead of four days to do the work they got it done in two! Edwards Collision Studios absolutely Rocks! I brought my BMW which sustained a very nasty dent just above my right rear wheel panel to include a vertical dent approximately 8" long which occurred at church of all places from someone opening their car door; and yes, the person drove away. I spoke with Joseph over the phone who understood my frustration and promptly arranged an appointment the next day. Upon checking, Joseph looked at the damage and provided me with options which included a less expensive process versus having to repaint the entire right side of my car. He assured me that he would have the damage repaired as best he could, but because of where the damage was, he obviously could not provide me a 100% guarantee the damage wouldn't be noticeable. He felt comfortable with 98.9% which was good enough for me. Four hours later, my car was finished and completely detailed upon my arrival. I looked for any visible signs of damage but could not locate where the original damage was. Amazing work! I am disappointed in the quality of work I received from Edwards. The entire process of repair was good UNTIL they were presented with a problem. A replacement trim piece they ordered did not fit, and they simply gave up trying to replace it during the process. Their updates grew fewer and far between, then degraded to curt responses, then eventually nothing at all. It has been 2 months now, and I have come to terms that I will not have this issue resolved. Now I have trim pieces that clearly do not match. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a body shop to see your car repair through to completion. read more
