An interesting place, if you can find it It was our first meal in Rome, having just arrived by train and gotten checked in where we are staying for a few days. My wife came up with Edoardo's and off we went to have dinner. Not easy to find, we circled around what seemed back alley residential parking areas until we were all turned around trying to use Google maps. My wife, not shy asking directions from any passerby, tried that and had that person perplexed as well. She then stopped in another eatery that sells gelato and asked for help. A wonderful man, who when he tried to explain to our blank looks, actually walked us down and around a corner to the restaurant. Our first impression of the people of Rome is very high. They have outdoor seating but to avoid being close to anyone that was smoking, we opted to eat inside. Neither seating area was very busy, and as a result we received excellent service. The inside is a mixture of artwork and photos, the walls a deep pink, the rounded ceiling purple. This was a dining room with character. Our server was extremely helpful in making suggestions and recommendations for my wife, who settled on what turned out to be a very good spaghetti and clams (mussels?) dish. I went with pizza. Even faced with more foodie worthy dishes, I try to eat pizza. My pie of choice was Norina funghi e salsicce, or mushrooms and sausage pizza. In our travels through Italy the last couple of weeks I've learned to love the weak bottom crust I would complain about back home, and here I was with a more American style pizza. Thin crust to be sure, but some support from underneath. The pizza was large and delicious, the background music familiar, service helpful and friendly, the restaurant interesting. The staff was attentive, warm and friendly and made us feel at home throughout the evening. Dinner tonight was a perfect Italian experience. Edoardo's is a quaint out of the way spot with a comfortable outdoor dining space (which we enjoyed!). Our server was friendly and seemed to enjoy interacting with the customers creating a pleasant atmosphere. Now for the food - delicious! We shared a mixed salad and I had the gnocchi - so good! Went here with some family for dinner. The place was empty during dinner hours, huge red flag. We sat down and ordered anyway. Our group ordered some pizzas, rigatoni with guanciale, and some appetizers. Some appetizers were decent, but the oysters were terrible. The main dishes were honestly the worst we've ever had. The pizza was hard as diamonds, hope you have good dental coverage. The guanciale didn't taste anything like guanciale, might as well have been vegan bacon. The pasta wasn't even al dente, it was completely undercooked. If you're already in this area go to Antica Trattoria Angelina instead, much better food and similar price. Stopped here for lunch with a group. Unfortunately that day the credit card machine was down which made it a bit more difficult. The service was mediocre. Felt like the two gentleman there spent most of their time chatting with friends that stopped in than worrying about the guests. We ordered a few pizzas and a chicken dish. The chicken was very good. The pizzas were good as well (they were a bit greasy and missing the slightly burnt bottom that you would expect of a Neapolitan pizza). Overall a decent option. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The owner was extremely rude. Our table cloth had already been used when we arrived. The owner had a go at us because our 2 year old made a mess (1 piece of bread on the floor and some tomatoes from the pizza which I always clean up after him anyway). They also arbitrarily charged an extra 5 euros when we paid by card. Don't come here, they give Rome and Romans a bad name. Feel ripped off, slightly grossed and humiliated for having a healthy 2 year old. read more

So this was a bummer. The service was great until we got the bill. The server really pushed their portebello mushroom special as an appetizer, which was really good, but we never asked how much it was and they charged us $35 for it. It was just mushrooms and some garlic and not even very much of it. There was nothing on the menu, including beef and seafood that, was over $35, so they took advantage of us as tourists. We also ordered the pancetta for desert and they asked if we wanted it plain, with Carmel or fruit. They even charged us for the fruit on top, which has never happened to us before, and we have been traveling through our Italy for almost a month so far, and it didn't even mention it on the menu as an up charge either. I have no problem paying a few hundred dollars for dinner, but I don't like to be taken advantage of for sure. Bottom line is, if you are going to eat here, ask for the price of everything or they will screw you for sure. read more

Just went here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing!!!! Soo cute and quaint. The best part is the food- so delicious! We had the steak with potatoes and ravioli with spinach. Amazing! How did I never write a review for Eduardo II!? This is our favorite place in Rome, hands down. Best food we've ever had - you should try the pizza and/or gnocchi - mind blownnn! Best of all, the two guys that work here / own the space are two of the most wonderful people we have ever met. When you come here, you will feel like you're at your best friend's house. These guys know how to cook, sing, tell jokes - I mean, just everything. And on top of that, they are so cute (and Mario sure knows it ;-) Hahaha!) We went back more than once during our short stay in Rome and loved it more and more each time. When we're back in Italy, this will be our first stop. Absolute gem hidden in the back streets of Rome. This menu is great for lunch True Italian but lighter menu with appetizer portions and light fresh salads. Today I had Buffala Campana Docg E Prosciutto or Buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. Hand made buffalo served as shown in large portions and great to get the pallet ready for Con Crost. Di cPane or Sauté mussels w white wine and Sicilian bread croutons. It was a tad salty for my taste but I'm a bit salt sensitive ..table share is always welcome and sizes are good to do so. Unlike many cultures here in Rome they welcome you to clean the plate with left over bread and fresh Italian Olive oils. The flavor is lightly bold with garlic and perfect afternoon lunch coming from a hand day tour. This is the one place in our three city vacation where the food and service did not measure up. We were just having pizza and sodas. I'm guessing were didn't represent enough cash to stir the waiter into taking good care of us. Service was really slow. We actually wanted to order more, but the waiter never came back. There was a miscommunication and we got the wrong type of pizza. My speaking Italian is not good--I sound like I'm from Texas--so I usually point to the menu. That failed us this time. Either way. The pizza lacked a good base sauce. Very thin on the toppings--and yes I know Roman pizza is different from that in the US. I think Naples has the best, Rome has a crispier crust. The sauce was the issue. We had our drinks and our pizza. We finally got the attention of the waiter, paid and left. The decor--I see what they are trying to do there, not my thing. They have added more knick knacks since the photos in the listing were taken. Some of the art is purposefully hung askew. I like art. This just wasn't for me. The vibe of the place was not really nice, the waiter made us feal unconfortable! The meal was ok, but the bottle of 2€ worth vine was sold by 20€ and the bill was added some 4€ extra charge and 3€ water, but we did not even drink the water! We ate here twice during our week-long visit to Rome. Our first night was so good that we decided that we had to come here for a feast on our last night. All of the ingredients were fresh and the tastes so flavorful and delightful. For appetizers both nights, we ate prosciutto and melon, absolutely delicious. Overall, we tried the margherita pizza, simple yet full of flavor, three amazing pastas (one with sausages and mushrooms in a light cream sauce, one with sausages and chicory in a red sauce, and a lobster linguine), and a second course of veal ossobuco that nearly melted under our forks. On our second night we decided to try the cannoli which was a great way to finish the evening. The maître d' was incredibly friendly and was able to converse in many languages. He was very patient with our attempts at italian, gave some suggestions, and seemed to enjoy having a meal prepared for us. The costs were incredibly reasonable for the amount and taste of the food. I would recommend everyone to find this little side street restaurant and have a nice relaxing dinner here. read more

We had lunch here based on yelps recommendation. What a fantastic little place tucked behind a touristy area. That's where you can find great restaurants like this, just a block or two off the beaten path. Homemade gnocci - yum. Meatballs - excellent and my nonna would approve. Roman chicken, flavorful and a step above cacciatore. Then the very friendly host suggested a tasty grappa, and we had the lemon cake, chocolate cake and pannacotta desserts, each great. Had lunch here on our last day in Italy. It was both the best food, and the friendliest service, of anywhere we ate in Italy in over a week. Both Edoardo and the waiter treated us like family, and all the other positive things everyone writes are correct, including Edoardo frequently breaking out into song. We had such a good experience for lunch, we made a point of going back for dinner that night, and we were glad we did. I managed to leave a cell phone in a taxi on my way there for dinner, and Edoardo volunteered to call the taxi company to see if it had been turned in. Since we were leaving Italy the next morning, he even said he would personally send the phone to me it were recovered. Now, that's personal service! Highly recommend! It's just a few streets away from the Campidoglio but seems far removed from the bustling crowds, nestled in a little side street. I had the fresh pasta with sausage and chicory leaves. Ok so doing the tourist thing in Rome. If you eat at a. Outdoor ristorante near a major attraction you will pay high prices and mediocre food. We looked for smaller ristorante just one block off the beaten path. This is where you find the real gems. Eduardo has outdoor seating and Wi Fi. But the beer and water is cold and the food is well prepared. We enjoyed everything. And the prices are reasonable too. I was very shocked that this was not listed in Yelp. read more

Wow. This place is absolutely amazing. We stumbled upon it by chance when looking for a nearby restaurant here in Rome. Not only is the staff extremely welcoming, but the ambiance is just perfect. We were greeted and engaged in conversation by Mario - who asked us where we're from, sang to us, etc. It was very personal attention which is rarely shown! The food was excellent, too. Absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this little gem while wandering through the streets of Rome. The staff were very friendly, we had the Roman Chicken (recommended by a customer sitting near us) as well as the Ravioli (we shared of course). SO good! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavors were fantastic! And those mushrooms! Yum. The ravioli was so tasty! Definitely one of our favorites while in Rome.
