We hired Edmonds bakery to make our daughters wedding cake for 250 people at Swans Trail Farms in snohomish on September 7. The cake was beautiful and delicious too!! The whole experience of meeting with Ken (the owner) in person. sitting down at his bakery together and taste testing the different flavors of cake and fillings was fun! We came up with a plan and he carried it out impeccably . He personally delivered the 5 tiered "naked" cake which my daughter really wanted. We had ordered 4 tiers but he threw in an extra topper as a surprise . He stayed and decorated it with fresh flowers and made sure it was ready to go by reception time. I hardly knew he was there and wasn't bothered with any questions or concerns , which was wonderful since being mother of the bride was consuming enough. Guests commented on how pretty the cake was and even more important, how good it tasted. We highly recommend Edmonds Bakery for wedding cakes and any large event. read more

Nice casual spot to grab a cup of drip coffee and a sweet while people watching. I love the sugar cookies with the frosting- no weird after taste that some sugar cookies can give you. Let me tell you, some of the best baked goods I've ever eaten. Not to mention a long time bakery and owner. Friendly service, fresh doughnuts and other treats. I have been coming back to this bakery for years. Ken the owner has a very artistic mind. His talent in baking and creating masterpieces is beyond unbelievable. I got a wedding cake for my sisters sister's wedding and it was exactly what she wanted and more. She told him exactly what she wanted and Ken made the mona lisa of cake. My twin daughters would rather have a cake from Edmonds bakery than baskin Robin's. For 9 year old twins that's saying a lot. Good prices, if you risk eating anything. When we went in, I was at first impressed by the selection, until I noticed the thick layer of dust covering all of the packaged foods. . . and that included the bread loaves that were marked as freshly baked! And just in case you're wondering, this was not a layer of flour - it was dust. SO bad. Summary: Filthy location, unhygienic and inattentive staff, TERRIBLE product quality. I wanted a sweet treat so I stopped in. After 3 minutes of being ignored at the front counter someone finally greeted me. I chose an individual piece of chocolate cake. As the girl was getting it out of the case another girl behind her PICKED HER NOSE, went to talk to the person in the lobby, then returned to the kitchen without even washing her hands. At this point I had already paid but was thoroughly disgusted. When I opened the box the cake looked like it was days old and I couldn't even stick the fork in it! The delicious looking black-bottomed cupcakes are super dry and barely have any cream cheese. Actually, it might be a weird cousin of custard instead. Still there is less than a teaspoon in it. Kind of icky, really. People next to us bought a wreath-shaped bread product. They asked when it was baked and the guy said "Saturday morning" and it was a Tuesday afternoon. I was looking for a bakery to make a specialty cake for a baby shower a week away. I called up Edmonds Bakery and told them my needs. Ken said he could do what I was asking for and gave me his email to send him my ideas. Our entire communication was done via email. I sent Ken my ideas and we worked out all the details and colors. Saturday morning I came in to pick up my cake. Ken was very enthusiastic about the cake and it was just what I had asked for. I was charged the price that he quoted me and was on my way. We pre-ordered a lemon cake and it was perfect. It was beautifully presented, with a yellow rose on the top made of lemon peel--much prettier than a standard frosting flower! The lemon filling the perfect combination of sweet and tart, and the cake itself had a beautiful moist texture. Our only caveat was that even though it looks like you can order online, you can't. We went in for an initial consultation a few months before the wedding and worked with Ken, He was very energetic and listened to what we were wanting. We did a sampling that day and had such a hard time picking because everything tasted so good! What we loved most about the cake was that it was full of flavor but was not overly sweet like most cakes. The cake turned out beautiful, just what we had asked for and our guests loved the cake! Let me just say to be fair I came here on a Friday towards the end of the day. The selection was not great, and the cakes and pies they had for sale looked like they had seen better days. I did get a pie and it tasted fine, but looked a bit sad. Service was not great. The girl at the counter that helped me didn't know the price of anything and didn't really seemed very motivated to help. Maybe she was new so I'll let it go until I can check it out again. The best part about the Bakery is the creepy decor. All of the walls are covered with cookie jars and they are all staring down at you from the walls and ceiling. I can just imagine a scene from a Stephen King book I once read. It really makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. I'll be giving them three stars right now until I can come by again earlier in the day. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I gave The bakery a ridiculous time frame to create a Minnie Mouse cake. It was done before expected and is nothing short of magnificent. They were accessible , the store front was a walk through time and love how eclectic and whimsical it is. The food and pastries are delicious. I have yet to find something that I do not love. So I'm not giving my 4 stars for the usual bakery goods, but instead for the wedding cake that Ken made us. It was reasonably priced, well decorated, but the best part... everyone raved about the taste. So even though he's a bit rough around the edges (and likes to tease), his cakes are damn good. And he'll even make a 1 year anniversary cake for free so you don't have to waste freezer space on your original one. My wedding venue, the Monte Cristo Ballroom, lists Edmonds Bakery as one of its preferred cake vendors. We tasted at another place, which was good as well, but preferred the cake at Edmonds Bakery (and we were offered free coffee while we did our tasting, which was a nice touch). It was easy to get everything planned. I was able to send an email of photos I liked as well as share the flavors we wanted, and voila! The only issue was that when the cake arrived and was set up, it started trying to collapse in on itself. It wasn't a major problem, but it freaked out the venue and was a bit of an issue for a few minutes. Luckily, it just stayed lopsided and didn't collapse any further - and it still tasted delicious. Sadly, I didn't actually eat any at the wedding, but I had some a few days later & it was still tasty. Edmonds Bakery gives you a free cake on your one-year anniversary, so I'm looking forward to that! read more
