Wow. I don't get all the bad review - I don't get them at all. Lived in Edmonds for 11 years, been coming in and out of here for 11 years. This is what I like about the Edmonds bakery. What is their specialty? Nothing. What do they make well? Just about everything. Just about everything is darn good on a various level of 3 to 4 stars. Breads, muffins, donuts, cookies, all of it is solid. They have a rack where they sell day old goods, great bargains to be had, everything else is fresh. You won't find fussy new style or thinking here - this is a classic bakery serving classic baked goods. If you're taking the ferry across the peninsula one of the best deals going is their boxed lunch. Get a sandwich made to order, chips, a cookie and soft drink for under $7??? With fresh baked bread for the sandwich and cookie right there. Awesomeness. I will say their old fashioned donuts are my favorite, buttery, good flavor. Service can be spotty, depends on who is behind the counter. If you want something baked, something yummy, but don't know what, the Edmonds Bakery is a solid offering. read more

The food is average. The service and attitude is terrible. If you need some baked good and can't make it to a QFC or Safeway this will do, but be prepared to be treated like you're bothering them. The staff and owners have this "holier than thou" attitude and treat costumers that aren't making any "Big Money" orders like they are a waste of time. For example, their reply on a previous review where they make assumptions that the reviewer is incompetent and tell them to "Get Real". Again the food is ok, but it's just ok. You'd be better off going to a grocery bakery, the food is the same quality and the high school kids that work there have better manners. read more

Well, I'd certainly give 4 stars for the service! The kind gentleman who has been making my bagel sandwiches the past few days (I've been working at Taste of Edmonds) has been extremely sweet and generous! The food is pretty decent, but not amazing, hence the 3 stars. Definitely A-Ok in my book, but not spectacular enough for more stars. I didn't particularly like their scones, very dry. Nor the cookies, also very dry. But this could be because I was eating the day olds? Though typically day olds aren't that dry! What I have loved is the bagel sandwiches and the doughnuts. Definitely some of the best doughnuts I've had in awhile! And the bagel sandwich hit the spot when I was trying to avoid greasy festival food. My girlfriend and I walked into this place on the way up to our car from the edmonds beach and were shocked to see some "Build the wall" cookies on display. This way of thinking and pure hate has no place in such a beautiful town. We left after seeing these horrible cookies and bought some treats at the Starbucks up the road. Hopefully a new bakery that is welcoming to everyone can open somewhere in Edmonds soon. read more

We made an appointment with Edmonds Bakery for wedding cake testing. It was a very good experience. The owner brought out slices of cake with mixed fillings and frostings. We didn't really have a set design we were looking for, but we knew we wanted to keep it low key and simple. The owner was very helpful and offered advice on size and photos to look though. The cake was delivered to Girardi's Osteria the day of our wedding and dinner. It was just as we wanted...beautiful...tasty...in a word...PERFECT! read more

I've had some of their products in the past and they were just ok... good enough; not amazing. It is convenient, however, for me to walk to and the other day I decided to stop in and get a dozen cookies. There were no other customers in the store but there were two employees working in the back who both had to have seen me as they weren't far away and they faced my direction several times as they walked around, but I was not acknowledged in any way and was left standing there for several minutes. Finally I just shrugged my shoulders and left and went to Starbucks instead. I felt so awkward standing there like a weirdo, being ignored. Really wish I loved this place:(. The donuts were mediocre and the cookies we got were really just gross. Such a disappointment. Even the vibe inside was terrible. There was a dead bug inside the glass case. This place needs a serious overhaul. read more

My friends and I went to this bakery, one of us has a life threatening allergy. She asked if the cinnamon roll she was about to purchase had nuts in it. They replied no, but my friend proceeded to have an allergic reaction after trying the cinnamon roll, but luckily she had medication. After all this, all they did was give her a refund. We also tasted the icing and it definitely had almond extract in it, even though the employees denied that there were ANY nut products in the roll. Then, we SPECIFICALLY asked if there was almond extract in the icing and they said, "oh, yeah there is actually." WTF! Not cute. Also, the molasses cookies are okay but very tough, and the sandwiches were the most BASIC SANDWICHES. I could've made a waaaaay better sandwich myself. We were visiting Edmonds for the "Find Waldo scavenger hunt" that the book store does every summer... We stopped by Edmonds Bakery for a snack... my son literally opened his eyes so wide after giving his glazed doughnut the first bite: "This is AWESOME!! It's my favorite doughnut EVER! Hands down!" Wow! I thought, because he's truly an expert doughnut tester and very picky also! I'm planning to drive all the way from home -it's not close to where I live- just to buy a batch of doughnuts for my son's upcoming 13th birthday as a surprise for him... I stopped by to grab some pastries and coffee because Starbuck's had a huge line. The place was not welcoming at all because the guy working the counter was too busy on his phone to even look up and greet me. I purchased a couple donuts which tasted fine, but what really bugged me was that the tables were dirty and needed to be wiped down, but the worker was just on his phone the whole time. I asked for some napkins to wipe the tables down myself but was told that they didn't have any. He didn't bother checking, just told me that they were out. If I was the owner, I would like to know that the person I was paying to work actually did some work. Based on the customer service, I do not recommend this bakery. read more

I don't eat sweets but picked some up for my husband. He's fussy about maple bars and apple fritters. He loved theirs. It's an old fashioned family bakery in a lovely, walkable downtown Edmonds. And the prices are very competitive. read more

My family and I went into the bakery today and the employee who helped us out was very cold and rude. Sadly we didn't get the name of him, but he had brown hair and earrings. So hopefully if a manager is reading this, they know who it is. We ordered two cannolis and a cookie which totaled out to be $7.00. On the board behind the employee it said a cookie was $1.25. So we questioned him and he said that board isn't correct and to not pay attention to it. And we just were confused for the false advertisement. He then says to us on our way out, to blame the minimum wage increase for the prices going up. Yes we understand that, but we don't need to be treated in a rude manor. Hopefully he charged everyone the RIGHT price and didn't switch up the prices for different people. Let's just say, we won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Service was slow and the cup cakes were very dry, must have been two days old, the hair stuck in the frosting was an added treat.

Low quality bakery. The tastes are about on par with your average boring supermarket bakery, presentation and customer service though are where they really lose points. They don't seem to pay to much attention to the details. Finishing work is sloppy as are the manners and appearance of the staff. Even the box the product was put in was filthy. read more

A small town bakery with great donuts- the chicken bone is definitely something worth checking out. Also, the maple bars are exceptional- a bit crispy on and soft on the inside with delicious frosting. Better than your average donuts, without a doubt. Check this place out. read more

The food is good; I've had various things (cookies, cupcakes, donuts, sandwiches) and the cookies are by far the best thing they have, but I have to rate the restaurant as a whole. I've never rated an eatery for its cleanliness, but I have to here. Every time I've been in the bakery, there is old food on the tables and on the floor. I don't think they sweep but once a month. It makes me feel uneasy to eat somewhere that isn't so clean. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. :( read more

This place rocks! I forgot to order the cake for my daughter's 16th birthday. So, in desperation, I called Edmonds Bakery 2 hours before close and they actually made me a cake, right then and there! A chocolate cake with peanut butter whipped filling and chocolate ganache. They even decorated it and made it look pretty! They sure saved my celebration. I had ordered my wedding cake from the Edmonds Bakery for this last Saturday, October 14th. When my husband and I cut into the cake for the first time we noticed it was a little crumbly, but as my catering team started to cut the entire cake for my guests it became impossible to cut a normal piece of cake for our guests, it just became a crumbly mess,and it was extremely embarrassing. All three layers of cake were like this. I don't know what happened but it was definitely not worth the $600.00 we paid, and I do not recommend going here for your wedding cake. I will be contacting to get some sort of a refund as we basically couldn't serve our cake and threw the majority of it away, such a shame... read more

Are you kidding me? A true small town bakery with the baker in the back hand dipping the donuts while you order a sweet or savory bakery delight? Wonderful! The warm maple bars and donuts are soft and fantastic but being a fan of savory (hard to find in bakeries) the sausage roll is my favorite! Small space, wasn't sure when I went in, what to expect.. But it's great! This is a cozy spot where you can sit for a bit, with a great donut or cookie ( this is not a filled croissant place) in a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by collectible cookie jars, and just enjoy... This bakery is amazing! Everything is delicious. I've been going to Edmonds Bakery my whole life and they even made my wedding cake. Everyone raved about how amazing the cake was! Great cake, frosting, and filling. They offer a ton of design options and flavors with a very reasonable price structure. No where else even comes close. The ambiance is very quirky, maybe even a tad creepy due to the lighting. Push past the ambiance and grab hold of an eclaire- you won't regret it! read more

My partner and I often stop by here as a treat. He loves their beef roll and I like the cake donuts, especially the chicken bone is my favorite. Love to walk in and smell that nostalgic aroma of a local bakery. The big box grocery stores never have that or the quality of pastries that independent bakeries do. read more
