Dates of visit: February 13 - 15, 2025 We came here for either coffee or breakfast each day of our stay and while there are a lot of great options and tasty choices, there are definitely some opportunities to improve as well. LOVE the coffee drinks here! I had both the White Chocolate Mocha and the Samoa Latte and both were excellent, though just be prepared for a wait to get them as there is typically just one person making all of the handcrafted (to steal a phrase from Starbucks) drinks at a time. One of the visits the barista seemed more worried that his hair was looking enough like Justin Bieber's and less focused on the coffee, not sure that I loved him grooming himself and then going right back to preparing the drinks without a hand washing in-between... I also had the breakfast sandwich with ham on a croissant and while good, it could have been a bit better, especially if a higher quality croissant was used; such as those sold at Costco. The menu did not provide any details on the bread so I can't speak to its origins. The cinnamon roll was a big disappointment; while it looked good, it was not heated evenly and was really lacking in frosting, I should have gone with a muffin instead. The line can get long very quickly, so take that into consideration before ordering; if you're in a hurry and there's anyone in front of you, it will be a bit of a wait. I stayed at Keystone Lodge & Spa, and this café was located on second floor of the premises. Even thought it was second floor, it was more like the ground floor. They had a Deli right next to the café for people who wanted to get quick snacks and takeout food. The café has a great outdoor seating with amazing view of the water and mountains. But that was about the only good thing that I could find... I ordered Bison Burger with fries. Simple enough order, I thought, but it took a long time for the food to come out. When it did finally arrive, I was a bit surprised... It was much smaller than I expected it to be, and only had patty, cheese, and some kind of fried onions. For $17, this is it? I looked at the menu again, and it says it comes with tobacco red onions, pepper jack, smoked garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, and onion. But mine had no aioli, no lettuce, tomato, onion. My server was no where to be found, and no one came to check on me until I was almost done with it, so I just ate it without them. So sad...and the burger was nothing special. Fries had a nice amount of seasoning, but felt a bit dry. My server was not very attentive, had to wait a long time before I could find him to get a check. He never came out so I had to go into the restaurant to find him. When I did finally find him asked for my check, he came back with $60 bill. When I realized it, I had to go look for him AGAIN everywhere so that it can be corrected. The actual Edgewater cafe was closed but the coffee shop that is connected to it was open. The breakfast sandwiches immediately made everyone in our groups stomach hurt. Very sub marginal food for the expensive price. read more

$35 for a continental breakfast that you would get at for free at a Holiday Inn Express is all you really need to know. The breakfast "buffet" is literally that. Nothing unique, nothing fresh, nothing worth $10, let alone $35, just an absolute disappointment. read more

Everything about the hotel this is inside of is wonderful... but this place. Blech. We opted to have breakfast onsite due to a long day of driving. We opted for the avocado Benedict and a side of fruit. The Benedict just looked sad. The tomato was kind of green, the avocado was over ripened and the hollandaise looked sketchy. It had a weird shine to it and it looked like it was made of chemical and play doh and not real ingredients. I took a few bites of one of the halves and stopped eating. I wasn't going to risk a stomachache with a 2+ hour drive ahead of me. The fruit cup was filled with fruit that wasn't ripe. I did however eat the potatoes that came with the omelet. Those had a nice crunch to them and tasted great! Do yourself a favor and do not eat here. The convenience of the restaurant itself is the ONLY thing this place has going for it. read more

Great place to sit and relax while pampered by the wait staff. Lots of healthy menu choice, drinks, great view at very reasonable price. Just park your car across the street at the convention center, walk under and you will be treated to hidden gem. This isn't a 5-star venue, but not terrible either. The location is excellent, the service was good (friendly, if slightly slow), and the food was decent. I ordered the Ruben which was toasted perfectly. The meat was tender and just enough of the 1000 island sauce. The sweet potato fries were OK but a little soggy. Fish tacos were beautifully plated, but the tortilla was way too thick. Felt like eating dry pita bread. Portion size was just enough and the three separate sauces were nice. Those who ordered Caesar salads were a bit underwhelmed. Not much chicken and croutons seemed a little soggy. I did like the chips and queso, but the cheese sauce tasted suspiciously like the Tostito's queso dip sold in the grocery store. But all in all, for a beautiful view on the lake in the summer, neither the food nor the service was poor enough to ruin the experience. Decent all around. I disagree completely with other reviewers. My experience here was completely positive. Our server Nancy was polite, hospitable, warm, informative and after talking with us even went to the effort of bringing us a local paper to give us an idea of what activities we could participate in this weekend. As a matter of fact, she was such a kind gem that I wish I could take Nancy with us to be our server everywhere. Food was flavorful, eggs slightly overbooked, but didn't ruin the dish. I ordered the huevos rancheros, as pictured (a thick layer of beans were under the corn tortilla). We sat by the window with a great view, and actually were the only people here at 11:35am... I was quite disappointed. The lakeside view is great. The food was not. The service was below average but friendly. This seems to be a classic example of bad management that uses low quality frozen cheap ingredients and charges premium prices to take advantage of tourists. Keystone should be better than that. My daughter and I went here because she wanted a treat lunch to enjoy good food on the lake. We both tried to keep a positive attitude because we haven't seen much of each other since she left for college. She remarked how small the portions were. She said her food was fair but tasted like the soup was from a can. Here is my biggest complaint: they misrepresented the food. Specifically, the menu clearly states a 1/3 pound burger, and it absolutely was smaller than a Wendy's single. And dry. I honestly would have preferred a McDonald's quarter pounder, and that is sad. Very sad. As sad as the tiny portion of sweet potato fries. I will Not return. read more

We sat outside by the water for breakfast and the view was so lovely and peaceful. The service was friendly and fast and the food was good. Salmon lox bagel was perfect and Breakfast burrito was good. It was the perfect way to finish our long weekend before heading home. read more

Had both breakfast and lunch at the Edgewater Cafe. I would stay away from their chicken sandwich. It was dry and lacked flavor. On the other hand, their egg frittata was OK with a medley of veggies and cheese. Coffee was just decent. Service was OK, but not spectacular. Went here for breakfast before heading to the slopes. The service was great and so was the food. The prices are reasonable and portions are big for the price. I'd recommend anyone to go here for breakfast/lunch. The fried steak was amazing and had delicious sausage gravy on top. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon and potatoes were also delicious. Slow, rude staff. Bland omelet. I've had better toast in a hospital. Badly prepared fruit cup. I wouldn't dine here again. Full story: It started with seating. I asked to be seated outside. We walked outside and the tables for two were in the sun. I asked to not be seated in the sun. The hostess seemed at a lost for what to do. I sat at a table because a man invited me to after he overheard the dilemma. The man ended up leaving before ordering. I didn't know what to order at first. The waitress checked twice. I had to wait a while for her to come back The third time she came, she walked up and told me if I didn't like the selections that I could go to the deli inside. I would have expected some help with ordering. Questions about what I like... I told her I was ready to order and ordered the egg white veggie omelet. While waiting for my order, I was asked to get up and move because I was at a table for 6 and was dining alone. I feel like the staff could have put a couple tables together before asking me to move. I waited a while for what was just an omelet, fruit, and toast. When the food came, I asked if the toast was buttered because I could see little evidence of butter on my toast. I was told it had already been buttered. I saw a little butter, but when I ate it, I tasted no butter. I've had better toast in a hospital. The fruit was some sad looking cantaloupe, pineapple, and honeydew. Some of the cantaloupe had green rind on it, making it inedible. The pineapple had chunks stuck together from not being cut completely and it had the spiny outside still there. The omelet was a bit bland. No evidence of salt or pepper. No one asked how my meal was going. After my meal, I waited a long time for the check. I had a to get up and talk to a hostess to get a check and ask for a manager. It still took another 5-10 minutes to see the manager and get the check. It told the manager about the slow service and poor quality food. He gave me a $3.50 discount off my $15 bill. I wish it was more. Afterwards, my server came over and told me that she thought I was just hanging out and that I should got up and got someone's attention if I wanted to order sooner. Wow, what a shame of a meal for such a location! We came down for breakfast as a convenient option as we were staying at the Lodge. I ordered $15 eggs Benedict with avocado. Avocado was misrepresented and instead it was a stale pre-made guacamole mix. The cooks haven't nailed down the poaching, the eggs were runny and didn't make it to the table in one piece. Honestly i am astounded on how one can screw up a very simple meal. The verdict: the convenience is not worth the awful food quality. They need to fire the kitchen staff, bring stronger management, and start from scratch. read more

We spent the night at the Keystone Resort and I was very excited when I saw that there was a buffet at the Edgewater Café (located in the resort)for breakfast! I was even willing to pay the $18 for it. Boy was that a huge mistake! It wasn't worth it at all. It was the basic scrambled eggs with potatoes, no hash browns, butter so hard it wouldn't spread over the cold pancakes or French toast. I should have picked from the menu, it would have been a little bit cheaper or even somewhere. Next time we wont eat here. Great lakeside view but not worth the $$. read more

We went in on a slow night. After waiting an inordinate amount of time, we decided to turn in our menus and try someplace else. For 15 minutes, no one came to see us or even take a drink order. On the way out, the young hostesses sarcastically yelled "have a good night" and thought it was funny that we left without being served. This place is very poorly managed with unprofessional people working there. Can't comment on the food because we couldn't get served, but we won't be back. read more

Ate here for breakfast both mornings we stayed at Keystone. Was skeptical at first because of the low reviews, but convenience won out and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great both days ... our servers were quick and attentive. Meat lovers omelette was excellent, as was the brioche French toast. The location is beautiful as is the patio & that is what you're really paying for. I love Lakeside Village & it is our favorite area in Keystone. The food at Edgewater is hit or miss. Sometimes it is excellent other times it's not so good. It would help if the temperature on the food was right. Soup should be hot but was not. It is over priced but most everything is up here. The location of this place is the best part - right next to Keystone lake! I always sit outside when I eat here, as the inside is rather dated and screams "I haven't been renovated since 1995". Most recently I went for lunch during summer season, and we split a Reuben and a salad. Both were very good! I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about, but likely have to do with service. They use kids (like 16 year olds) as wait staff, and some are predictably bad. I think that is OK, servers should be kids - service is not a job for serious adults. I would give zero if I could. It was the first time in my life that I sent the meal back to the kitchen and had to order something else.... I went there for lunch, close to 2pm, place was empty. I ordered the quinoa and cauliflower burger... The sweet potato fries came totally burnt... they took it back and replaced with a better fried batch. * they are not fries...they are like small waffles... Then the burger....well, it is not a burger...it is not a patty, it is not anything that holds... it is just a bunch of loose quinoa and pieces of cauliflower inside a bread. There is no way to eat that without everything falling apart....really disgusting. I sent it back and got a regular burger. One of the worst places I have ever been. Don't bother. While the lakeside location is inviting we found the service and food quality lacking. First we were not allowed a seat by the window even though there were lots of open tables. We were only 2 and those tables were for 4. They said they were anticipating a lunch crowd which never came. Then we had to wait 25 minutes for our food! We only ordered soup and salads and the vegetarian falafel. When it finally came the falafel was completely undercooked. The dressing was not on the side as requested. The soup was mediocre and the salad was a bed of greens with a small amount of tomatoes on the side. When I spoke to the waiter he explained two large parties had ordered right before us.
