Painted Sky Inn - Low lake

This is a cute property right off Lake Buchanan…read more The property has a fishing pier with three poach swings and is lit up at night as well. There's a lounge area, that might have been a swim area but the lake was extremely low when we visited, so I'm not sure. There a patio with a grill, fish fry and smoker for guest to use and some hammocks. I think they used to rent kayaks and stuff but the owner said they were damaged in a recent storm, and there is a boat ramp. The rooms are spacious, with a kitchenette, and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great in the unit. The shower is small and had no hot water, which was barely tolerable was we did not visit when it was hot outside. Also lake gnats. They are everywhere and while completely harmless, they do get in your room even when you are careful. In the back is a long, open patio area with chairs and grills that can be used. This is a shared space with your neighbors. It's definitely a place to go and relax for a few days. It would be good for fishing, lake activities and reading. The owner was very nice and communicative. Although I saw in another review that this place was pet friendly, and that is NOT true. There are sign's everywhere that say no pets and there's extra fees if they stay with you.

Glenda wanted a little peace and quiet on our 34th anniversary. And here's what she got! PSI is a…read morereally neat little place. First, it's gated, so only guests staying at the inn are there. All the regular rooms are in one long building. That means everyone has the same back patio, which I didn't like. Whether your just relaxing, or cooking on the included grill, it puts your neighbors too close to you. But what a view of the sunset! The swimming area is a little small if a lot of people are there, but just great when it's not crowded. The rooms are very basic, but have everything you need. Beds were soft and the A/C worked like a champ. I booked Saturday and Sunday nights, so the second day we were the only ones there. Peace and quiet! We swam. We fished. Well, actually we just fed the fish, cause we sure didn't catch any. There was an automatic fish feeder on the dock. When it went off in the dark, it scared the s**t out of Glenda. I laughed so hard! At night, they fired up the fire pit, which was really nice. There is a container in the frig which had stuff to make s'mores If you want to. We just kicked back and relaxed. After 34 years with me, you need a little relaxation! We took walks around the neighborhood. There were deer everywhere! And some friendly. This is a very nice place if your looking for a weekend retreat. I thought it was a little pricy, but everywhere has gone in that direction. Pay up buddy! By the way, it's right across the cove from the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, which we definitely enjoyed.

Our stay was ABSOLUTELY perfect! The guys at Templeton's Tavern get 5 stars for the friendliest and best service ever. They made us feel very welcome and right at home with many above-and-beyond moments like bringing us an extra pickleball racket to the court when they noticed another family member show up to play. The food and drinks were great. The games and pool table were super fun. We enjoyed the live weekend music from our patio while we cooked hotdogs and s'mores over the fire. Andrea was stellar with quick communication! Housekeeping gets 5 stars because it was really impressively clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and we enjoyed hiking around and seeing the beautiful wildflowers. I can't say enough good things about this place. It is unique and combines all the beauty of nature with all the comforts of home and lots of attention to detail in decor and service. The container cabins are really very pretty and the spider sculptures are a neat touch. The sunset view is so amazing my tween girl ordered us all to the upstairs balcony to take it in. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends and family. We were sad to leave and will 100% be back. Best Spring Break ever.

This place is absolutely ratchet. There is NO cell service, it took 24 hours for the cabin to cool…read moredown in March! The furnishings are tore up, even though you pay a $75 cleaning fee they require you to strip the beds, wash the dishes, and take all your garbage to the dumpster that isn't close. The WATER! Smells like a mixture of vomit and sewage that you bathe in. The restaurant/bar is a food truck and some bartenders that sat on top of the cooler for the night. Bun on sandwich was so burnt you couldn't eat it and when I left a google review the owner said I was rude so I guess that is all ok with her! Be careful though, they spy on you while you are there. 30 mintues before checkouT the "housekeeper" cased the place and then parked in front of the dumpsters and watched us... so creepy. Don't waste your money. It's HORRID, plus read the review on Google that says the same thing and the owners response. I'm rude because I kindly called out you overcharge for a dump! I am calling the health department on that food truck they call a restaurant and it. Is Luke a old creepy murder movie they way they spy on you in the dilapidated grounds...gross!
