It was deeply embedded into the chairs and mattresses. It absorbed into all our clothes and sleeping bags and stuff sitting in there two days. After coming home our stuff is been in the garage a day and the smell is so potent the garage smells like faint smoke from airing out. If smells bother you even slightly, avoid that cabin at all costs. Not sure if others smell like it now too, and a bunch of jerks have just chain smoked in all cabins or just this one.

We had dual bunk beds and moved them together to make a large bed for us and our two little ones with no gap in the middle. AC worked great and it had a ceiling fan. Outside is a nice bbq grill with a separate fire pit and small picnic table in great shape. Your door is steps from the water with an incredible view. Bathrooms and showers looked recently updated and were cleaned daily. In-laws had an rv spot and there was not a single sticker burr to be found! Also, staff was friendly and not uptight about a second vehicle being slightly off the pavement at the rv sites. Would recommend to everyone and will definitely stay here again.

Black Rock Park Cabin 48 Great spot. Cabins are pretty close…read moretogether. Beds are so loud, squeaky and barely comfortable. Definitely take fitted sheets. The wind was crazy but it was really peaceful. There's a 9 hole putt putt golf course, $9 per person, that is in good condition but not maintained at all, it was covered in leaves and twigs. Bathroom with shower was very close to cabin but it was dirty and there was no hand soap and the handicap bathroom ran out of toilet paper. We would still stay here again.

We loved that they have fully equipped cabins: a frying pan, pot, and pan with which to cook; necessary cooking utensils; salt and pepper; microwave; coffee pot, and more! Fans make for quiet rooms. And the heating and cooling work very well. The windows in our cabin were able to provide ample natural light. The quilts make a lovely, homey touch. All the beds were comfortable to sleep upon. We enjoyed the clubhouse with the many rooms and kitchen, which can accommodate multiple groups of guests. Far enough from technology to focus on being with ourselves. And so happily, we could finally see stars. It's amazing how peaceful and recharging this place is. I highly recommend coming here and resting your soul.

Check in and out were both effortless. Sadly, this was my first vacation of the year. So, visiting here off season was perfect for us. It was peacefully quiet and relaxing, with plenty of space inside the camper and out to unwind and enjoy this getaway. However, I can well imagine the fun you could have in warmer weather with all the additional amenities they have to offer. Mom and I really want to go back for some kayaking! Special bonus points for being truly dog-friendly and not charging crazy huge additional fees. Also, checking in to the cozy camper with soft Christmas music playing the first night, set the tone for a lovely stay. Thanks so much!

Vacation This past weekend, friends invited us to stay…read moreovernight with them at Oasis Lake Buchanan in their RV. Our first impression of the property was mixed. The lakefront location is beautiful, the water level was high, and there was a nice breeze throughout our stay. However, the property itself appeared somewhat run-down. The playground was covered in cobwebs and looked like it hadn't been maintained recently. We also noticed a significant ant problem around the campsite, and our friends had to remove several active wasp nests after arriving. Unfortunately, the biggest issue wasn't the property--it was our interaction with the manager. Late Saturday evening, my friend, who had rented the RV site, began receiving a series of text messages from the manager, Josh, complaining about the number of vehicles parked at the site and warning of additional charges. After reading the messages myself, I was surprised by how confrontational and aggressive the tone was. The following morning, as we were preparing to launch our jet skis at the boat ramp marked for Oasis guests, Josh ran over yelling that the boat ramp was private property. My friend--the paying guest who had rented the RV site--tried to have a conversation with him, but Josh remained focused on the extra vehicle and repeatedly threatened to call the sheriff over the threatening text conversation that took place the night before. (There is nothing in the Texas Penal Code about "hurt feelings.") Rather than calmly explaining the rules or working toward a solution, the interaction quickly became hostile. The situation escalated further when Josh began using profanity, including multiple F-bombs, within earshot of my children. At that point, any chance of a respectful conversation was gone. (Texas Penal defines this as "Disorderly Conduct - Language. A class c misdemeanor.) Shortly afterward, he walked away, and that was the last interaction we had with the little angry man. What made the confrontation even more confusing was that, during this entire incident, there were no other guests on the property. The aggressive response seemed completely disproportionate to the situation. Our friends were ultimately told they were "banned" from returning. While the lakefront location itself is very nice, our experience with management overshadowed everything else. Customer service matters, and unfortunately this was one of the most unpleasant interactions I've experienced at a campground. We won't be returning.

Don't stay at the "Treehouse". The toilets were filthy in all of the bathrooms. The kitchen…read morecabinets were stuck together from years of grease and grime- you can see fingernail marks where people have struggled to open the kitchen cabinet doors. The loft windows were very dirty (see picture). Overall, this home needs updating, and when you are spending several hundred dollars a night, it should at least be clean. FYI - all of this info was sent to the owner of Log Country Cove, and she never responded.

This year we were iced in and Megan who runs the place and her staff were amazing. They were responsive and helpful and saw to it we were well taken care of. The man at check in was jovial and invited me in to be accounted for on the list. ​Tim assisted my friend down the path, as she has some problems with her walking. Tim was very informative about safety, as well as the tour itself. Lots of fun facts about the area, and folk lore as well. The day was perfect. The water birds entertained us up and down the river. The ride was smooth, the boat well maintained. Fresh iced tea or water available. Clean restrooms. Upper or lower decks both have plenty of seating and availability for pictures. Tim came around close to the end of the tour and offered to take pictures of us as a wonderful reminder of what a great time we had! It's a great experience! I highly recommend it!

This is a small park bisected by Clear Cove Drive. On one side of the street is a single shallow…read moreboat ramp with its payment kiosk and on the other side is a great lake view with picnic tables, grills and trash cans. This park is set amongst a very quiet affluent community of new homes. Apart from the picnic tables and grills there's not much else in the way of amenities and the property could definitely use some shade trees. There is a gravely parking area just before the picnic tables and I would definitely suggest bringing a large umbrella or pop-up tent to keep the sun off you. This park is situated in a small cove like area, but has a decent view of the lake. It does have a…read moreboat launch and there is a payment kiosk next to it. The property itself is relatively small with just three picnic tables, two grills, some swings, and a modern public bathroom. There's a reasonable amount of shade here, but no covered picnic area and parking is where you can fit your car on the property since there is no lot. It is a peaceful spot, nestled amongst the residential homes in the area. This would be a good spot for a family picnic, but I'd recommend the Robin Hood park not far from here instead.
