Such an amazing time at Dos Rios. Tammy has a beautiful place! She and her staff take great care of the grounds, paying close attention to the details. The canvas tent spots are cozy and private. Highly recommend #9 for the kitty company. (We were visited by 3-4, but this one captured our hearts) The river access is easy and well thought out. Brought our own kayak and tested the waters. They offer rentals as well. Thanks for a memorable trip, Dos Rios! Cant wait to get back.

Quick getaway with my husband aka mom and dads weekend off Loved it and i took several walks around the grounds and went into town for lunch. Everyone was so friendly and I felt very comfortable and safe everywhere. Left refreshed and sun kissed! Overall great and we'll be back again, def with the little one!

River is just at the base of bank to right. Water level way down with drought but still very lively rapids and water to wade in.

Beautiful location on river. Many activities. Much of the campground is shaded with mature trees and there are great locations for hammocks, tables, fire pits. We will be back soon!

Great place. Friendly staff with positive attitude. Stayed in a vintage trailer that was in great shape. We sat in a hammock overlooking the river as the resident cats seemed to mock us. On a morning walk to the 'island' I saw lots of wild life. Good access to River. Short drive to bat cave which Is $5 if in season. Mason had no ice for 3 days. No cell service but good WiFi.

This hidden gem just might be our favorite camping spot in Texas! We've stayed 3 times now and keep coming back with friends. Love that there are cabins and RVs to rent for our friends that don't have campers. Tammy is always super helpful and friendly. She always goes above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We love hiking and kayaking the beautiful river and relaxing around the property. Can't recommend it enough! Spots 1-5 are our favorites. Our friends have enjoyed the cabins and airstream rentals.

Pro's: Dos Rios RV Park & Campground is a place where family, kids, pets & friends come together to enjoy campfires, wonderful views and nature. A place to enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from the campsites, immediately overlooking the crystal clear Llano River from high above. Private Cabins and Campers are available for rent for the quick overnighter or private tent sites are available for the more adventurous folks as well as full hook-up RV sites. Great place for fishing, photo opportunities, reading, camp-fires and relaxing. This is a privately owned RV Park/Camping-site with a really laid back atmosphere. Con's: My husband and I were encouraged by the Camp-host to book an RV site closest to the water. I had mentioned to her that our camper is a 40' big rig in addition to our F250 Truck pulling it. With that said, the RV sites closest to the water #4-#11 (when booked) are not a place for that size of an RV since there is no way getting in or out, which was my biggest concern when booking - but was told by the camp host that 'everybody' does that. Lesson learnt.... follow your gut. We were in RV Spot #4 - and were thankful that our immediate small RV neighbor in RV Spot # 5 left early with their truck and camper the morning of our departure - without that, we would not have been able to get out since the turn around is way to tight. In addition, access to the lower RV sites 4-11 are only accessible on a narrow road and a steep dip. One of the smaller RV campers got damaged by driving through the dip on his way out. Our camper was able to move through the dip with a 2" clearance from the ground which cut it very close. A way to improve this dip would be to add 1'-2' of fill dirt and rocks, to be able to raise it some. RV sites for big rig's (when the park is fairly booked) are very tight and close together. My suggestion, when entering - walk the campgrounds by foot first to evaluate how to best pull in and park into the booked site. We saw several large campers on the upper RV sites struggling to park. It is evident that the owner has put in hours of hard labor, creating this campground and offering a beautiful spot so close to the river to the public. With that said, a great plus could be a privacy hedge or fence of some kind surrounding the Host RV camper which is parked immediately at the front entrance, for all the gathered 'necessities' immediately spread around the camper to be somewhat hidden - first impressions are a lasting one. Other than that, this RV park/campground is situated close to Fredericksburg, Mason, Llano and sits 'smack in the middle a the beautiful Texas Hill Country', with historic markers close to it and an abundance of nature. I recommend this RV park and campground to others. Thank you

Came for a quick weekend getaway from Austin. Super cute park! Caretakers are really nice. It was quiet and clean. We stayed away from the river entrance but it was just a quick walk to get there. And the kids loved biking around the 'road'. The RV spots near the river have a nice communal area and fire pit. The spots away from the water have private pits and picnic benches. We stayed at 12, between the campers they provide. Kids loved playing in the river but there are decent drop offs on the way to the water so they had to be watched closely. Would love to come back with friends!

Stayed for a quick Christmas getaway and we are very happy we chose this place. Tammy is an excellent host and quick to respond. The grounds are well maintained and the views are great. We will definitely be back.

Riverway RV Park - View of Llano River

Riverway RV Park

We stayed for the weekend in early June. Reservations were easy and we camped in space 7. We had a…read moregreat view of the Llano river and were close enough to the club house to occasionally get their free WIFi. The camp was very clean and our space was crushed granite, grass, and a concrete pad with a picnic table. It was a beautiful view. It was very peaceful and quiet. Our only issue with the place was that the grass was very high to walk to the river and there were stickers everywhere! They were so bad, our dogs could not walk in the grass and the bottoms of our shoes would be covered if we walked to the river. We tried to pull the stickers that were growing from our grass area by our camper, but we still pulled plenty from our dogs' paws. The other issue we had, which people may not mind, is the crushed granite. This hurts your feet when you walk barefoot and sticks in your shoes, so we had tiny rocks n the camper. Again, only a slight annoyance. Bring a broom. I recommend water shoes or sandals because entry into the river is rocky. The river was barely flowing the first day, and swimmable, but I heard from the locals that they slowed the flow the next day at the dam up river. Water level went down slightly. They are currently dredging this portion of the river, we heard, but we never saw any machinery working. We brought paddle boards and were able to paddle all the way down river to the dam and bridge. That was very fun! It was a long walk to haul them down to the river. I wish they would let you drive down to at least drop heavy items by the shore. We also fished from the shore. Definitely recommend bringing canoes, kayaks, or paddle boards. Overall, we enjoyed this hidden gem in Llano. It is very close to town, and the town does have plenty of shops to explore in the square. My family really enjoyed our weekend here! We will be back!

There's a small river that crosses through the camp site, but the tides were low and it didn't look like you could kayak or tube in it that weekend. It was nice to watch the ducks swim by though. I like that the campsite includes clean restrooms and showers. Each tent site provides you a bench, trash bin, bbq grill, and fire pit. Unfortunately, there was a burn ban in effect during our stay, so we couldn't light a wood fire. There was plenty of space between us and other campers, so it didn't feel cramped. One thing that could be improved is that the field is pretty rocky. We couldn't seem to find a spot for our tent that wouldn't drive a stone in our backs at night. The camp site offers kayak rentals, but it gets to be quite expensive. Visitors can also use the swimming pool located by the front office. If you're feeling hungry, want to grab a drink, or enjoy some entertainment, right by the entrance is a restaurant bar. They've got live music most nights.

It's more of a camper site with a dry-ish field nearby. I feel that this site just had extra land so it offered some camping grounds but you're basically in people's backyards on both sides, and near a highway so lots of car noise. Maybe there are sites offered deeper where you're not so close to roads and peoples homes. Overall, I still enjoyed my trip, but I would probably only return here if I had an RV Camper. Not the best spot for tent camping.

The grounds are above & beyond what you'd expect. From the minute you drive in the entrance & see the huge windmill & the flags you will know that you have entered a property that is loved and taken pride in. Jamie & B (Bianca) in the front office are friendly & helpful. They gave us easy directions to our spot & gave us plenty of info on things to do at the resort & in the surrounding area. We enjoyed talking to them so much! They were great! We drove across a small bridge in the resort into the Adults Only section & I swear I heard the birds chirping a happy little song welcoming us...lol We looked into the water & my bf said "I wonder if I can fish?! (He could & he did!) We had an end lot in the center. It was a perfect spot w a nice, sturdy metal table & 4 chairs. The area was quiet & peaceful. At night all we could see were stars...and more stars. This is the place to be for stargazing. At the time we still had our 24 ft RV & it fit perfectly. On the outside of the circle in the Adults only area there are huge spaces for larger RV's & motor homes. During our stay we walked up to the office to buy a few things & the prices were actually reasonable compared to other RV resorts we have stayed at. We loved the Adults Only pool & hot tub. We wish more resorts actually thought about the fact that there are a lot of Adults that want to relax at the pool without kids yelling, screaming & splashing them. Some of us are trying to get away for a wknd & relax. At other resorts there are kids running wild everywhere with little to no supervision. If you book here, especially in the Adults Only area, you will actually be able to enjoy a tranquil getaway. You will hear the wind blowing, not kids screaming. Don't worry though, if you're traveling w the Brady bunch you can book one of the many lovely spots in the other section of the resort. There's a pool for everyone that is also very large & nice. There you can enjoy the sounds of your children screaming & splashing with new friends! Speaking of friends, we met some of the most wonderful people on our last trip to Buckhorn Lake. At some RV resorts I have heard /read reviews complaining that long term tenants are unfriendly. Well, we found just the opposite. We met numerous people who stay at Buckhorn for months at a time and they were all so welcoming! One evening we ended up in the front "yard" of an amazing couples spot for hours. They were friends w a bunch of other regulars at the resort also. Our absolute favorite person at this resort has to be Chris! He came into the pool area our first night when we were in the hot tub. He was just making sure everything was turned off (lights) & locked up. There's a code to get into the very clean & nice restrooms. We ended up talking quite awhile. He told us all about the fun events that happen at Buckhorn Lake RV resort. This isn't JUST an RV park. It is truly a resort with plenty to do OR not do. Your choice. My bf had fun fishing in the early morning. (Catch & release) There is a fitness center & game room. They have tennis courts! There is also a really cool outdoor bar area near a big red barn for Happy Hours & Potlucks. They have an awesome theater room where they will soon be having a Super Bowl party. Every wknd they plan activities for their guests. There's no pressure to join but everyone is welcome! Chris takes care of the grounds & even stops by everyone's RV in the mornings to get your trash for you. He has the best personality. He made us want to come back bc he made us feel so welcome. I wish everyone had the kind of positive attitude that he has & loved their job as much as he does. He may never know this but he was a huge reason why our 1st visit to Buckhorn was such an excellent experience. If you ever see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS! If you want to enjoy the Hill Country in the Kerrville area there can't possibly be another place that could come close to being as great as Buckhorn Lake RV resort. This is just my opinion though. The fact that we booked 3 more visits in advance the day we checked out is proof enough! This place books up... Apparently we are not the only people that know how great this place is. We visited Buckhorn the first time in September 2022. I decided to wait & visit more RV resorts before posting my review. I can tell you without a doubt that this resort is excellent. In comparison to others in the Hill Country it has more activities & more amenities. It is definitely more beautiful! We have stayed at other great places but there is something special about Buckhorn Lake. Go & find out for yourself! Our next booking is coming up & we can't wait! Btw, I have so many more photos but they are on my old phone. I'll add them ASAP!
