We left with a greater understanding and appreciation for what it takes to be a steward to this beautiful place. Patrick's staff is also very friendly and happy to show you around. Travis P Trail Rides in Blanco, TX exceeded our expectations for a fun afternoon horse back. Travis himself is a hilarious and knowledgeable guide that takes great photos! I especially loved the little handmade leather satchels he provides for your belongings while you ride. I was also pleasantly surprised at the affordable rate ($40/pp for an hour ride). Not to mention the horses were all beautiful and clearly well taken care of. The experience was intimate as my family of three was the only group there at the time but I could see Travis P's being fun for larger groups and/or parties. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

It was amazing - almost 360-degree views of the Hill Country, privacy on the ranch property, and a huge fenced-in yard with fire-pit and grill so we could spend the day outside with our dogs. The house is fully stocked and could have easily fit multiple families, so it felt palatial with just the two of us and the dogs. The ranch land around the house was perfect for hiking and when we'd explored that, we just ventured to the Northern Tract to explore some more. The neighboring town of Blanco was so much fun - wine, great BBQ and fantastic little farm to table and brunch spots near the town square. And the location is an easy drive from Austin, but situated so that Fredericksburg and Johnson City are an easy day-trip. Loved the Log Home and staying with the Lighthouse Hill Ranch family was so easy and stress-free, thank you! We'll be back for sure!

Or at least to stop somewhere and get a photo either with us on horse back or holding the horse. 2) Also there are some beautiful areas as you climb the top of the hill. Lots of things to look at, deer trails and the view is beautiful. This would have been nice to have the small group (like we did at the fallen tree) gather at the top to get a few photos. 3) And speaking of vistas one side of the hill over looked an area with homes, some very beautiful homes, however I think, I don't know this for sure, but if we could have gone to the other side of the mountain if just a bit, I'm sure there would have been a beautiful untouched vista. Now I did enjoy the story by the tree but a few (just two maybe) more stops like that to tell about the work being done, the wild life, something and (with his accent and ability to tell a story) it would have been nice to have him gather the group (if more than two) and tell them a story of something historic or just a even a fable regarding that area. Now I can go on forever, but I would have thought a small outpost where riders could unmount and get a drink, feel like they were on a real trail ride. Would have been really cool. But that's not his fault, that's just wishful thinking on my part.
