So much so I am sending her back for the week long summer camp, summer 2021 which runs at $1100. My daughter and I did a women's only weekend $750. I feel fortunate that Leigh let us have the Ranch to ourselves and didn't book anyone else. I would have been disappointed to share our digs with another family. Accommodations are fantastic for little girls at camp. Four bunk beds, on the main floor and two lofts with two bunk beds each. That was not communicated that if another family booked we would be sharing living arrangements. Also, I would have preferred an itinerary before hand. Leigh did communicate once we arrived dinner was at 6 and at dinner communicated the rest of the itinerary. 3 day weekends: Friday: Check in at 3 PM, dinner at 6. No horse time, but you have free time and there is a pool. Saturday: Breakfast 8 a.m. Horse ride right after breakfast. Lunch 12 p.m. horse ride right after. Then free time till dinner at 6. Sunday: Breakfast 8 a.m and a horse ride right after. Meals are homemade and delicious. Leigh has skills in the kitchen, including homemade breads! Your children will be well fed. Leigh is a likable person and the conversation at meals are fun. I love the time spent learning to groom our horses. You get to know your horse well and you ride the same one all weekend. I would do it again for my daughter, I would just pack pajamas in case we aren't the only ones there. My daughter was in love with all the dogs and cats on the ranch too. There were six dogs and I'm not a dog person but I kind-of loved them all too. Two of them protected us by staying on our porch. Which I liked because at night it does get scary. Its a ranch, out of the way, quiet, huge, and feels very much isolated. Great during sunlight! This is a really nice getaway. My daughter looks forward to returning.

We…read morehad a wonderful time however, the only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is only for my own vain reasons. 1) It would have been nice to be able to get a photo of my wife and I together. Or at least to stop somewhere and get a photo either with us on horse back or holding the horse. 2) Also there are some beautiful areas as you climb the top of the hill. Lots of things to look at, deer trails and the view is beautiful. This would have been nice to have the small group (like we did at the fallen tree) gather at the top to get a few photos. 3) And speaking of vistas one side of the hill over looked an area with homes, some very beautiful homes, however I think, I don't know this for sure, but if we could have gone to the other side of the mountain if just a bit, I'm sure there would have been a beautiful untouched vista. Now I did enjoy the story by the tree but a few (just two maybe) more stops like that to tell about the work being done, the wild life, something and (with his accent and ability to tell a story) it would have been nice to have him gather the group (if more than two) and tell them a story of something historic or just a even a fable regarding that area. Now I can go on forever, but I would have thought a small outpost where riders could unmount and get a drink, feel like they were on a real trail ride. Would have been really cool. But that's not his fault, that's just wishful thinking on my part.

The person we are taking lessons from, Shaina with her company Healing Through Broken Strides has been amazing. I realize she boards there and it is not her property, however, the property is very well maintained. I have never seen a broken board or anything out of line. By all appearances all the horses are very well fed and taken care of. None seem to be lacking for anything. There is a variety of horses I have seen here from Arabians to Gypsys, Quarter horses to Paints and Clydesdale. Chris the owner has given tours when I have been around and she is very thorough. She explains all the availability that is on her property, over 200 acres of trails as well for comfortable riding time with your horse. I love that as I usually drive my vehicle in I get greeted by a couple of the older horses who are there living out their best life...they are each over 25 from my understanding. Also to note, there in pens they have goats, every so often I have seen young cows, and I love going and chatting with the the donkeys. It is an amazing place! To note, I also see the hay rings always full, and I see every time I have been there feeding time where the boarding horses are being fed the feed they are prescribed. There is a riding area and 2 round pens and a porta-potty available as well. I reiterate this because of another review states that they didn't have hay, and this is absolutely never ever been the case!
