Paul couldn't have said it better! Great experience and Willie is awesome. The ride is so peaceful and the views are amazing! Willie sets you up with a horse that is right for you. Be sure to wear pants and maybe long sleeves (I know hard during Texas summer months), but you do go through some brush so trust me your skin will be grateful. I had spirit (horses name) She is great for a beginner and if you want to go slow. I had to give her a couple kicks to keep up with the group. Such a great time! Willie is so much fun and it was a great experience. We took my mom as a surprise for her birthday and she could not have been more thrilled with it. I would say this may not be for first time riders/younger kids because you do need to understand the basics of riding. Willie explains everything in detail and even pretty inexperienced riders will have a great time, but anyone who has never ridden or has trouble paying attention to directions may want to take an easier ride for their first couple experiences. We came here as part of our honeymoon since my wife and I both love horses, and I have to say, we weren't let down in the least! Willie was very personable and pleasant, taking the time to get to know the four of us who went on the trail ride. The horses were even tempered and even though my wife's horse Cinnamon pretty much just wanted to follow the house in front of her, we didn't have any problems. We talked sir more after the ride was over and Willie offered us some advice as newlyweds before sending us off. This was an amazing place to visit. It was my first time riding a horse and I felt very safe. It was very spiritual as well as a learning experience, both of the guys are so kind and very nice. I rode on Bourbon and my boyfriend rode tip of the iceberg, both of the horses were amazing they know what they are doing and barely need guidance. Went on the hr trail ride on Saturday 2/8 talk about a wonderful time. Willie wAs the nicest guy ever. He really cares about you and it comes across. He asks us about our work, where we're from, and the history of the horses and even talks about Jesus. The ride was beautiful through the hill country. We didn't want it to end. Mom (me) thought getting these city slickers on a horse would be an awesome covid-frendly adventure - and it was! Willie and Gary are experts, laid back and have managed all levels. That said, my kids were too little at 5 and 7. The horses are calm but the terrain is more than a "walk in the park". Excellent, well trained and healthy horses. Be prepared for a sermon. If religion isn't your thing, just be aware that it is a part of the experience. I looked all over trying to find a spot to go horseback riding on a trail. After finding this spot I was nervous about how it would go because I didn't know anybody who had been. This was the best horse riding experience I've had. I don't think there's a better and more scenic trail anywhere. You actually get to ride a horse on a real trail. The hour ride sounds short but if you're a first time rider it's a good enough. The horses are well trained and Willy our trail guide was very nice. Great morning ride with Willie! We had Tip of the Ice, Little Red, Anna, and Cinnamon. We rode for 1.5 hours and it was perfect weather ... 50s and sunny, some wind. The location is all the way down the road. We caught Willie as he was opening tge gate but if you arrive people park on the side street and call him. I took my 22 year old daughter and her room mate for a trail ride here. The ride started with the "cowboys prayer" which I really liked. Cowboy Willie was excellent and kept us entertained throughout ride. Horses were wonderful (all ex-race horses) and well trained.
